1965 Chevy 4x4 And 1966 Gmc Truck As A Pair on 2040-cars
Columbia, Missouri, United States
I am selling my 1965 chevy that is sitting on a 1979 chevy pickup frame. comes complete with a strong running and rebuilt 305 high output v8, 350 tranny, and 205 transfer case. it also has a driveshaft. has a complete set of 6 lug chevy ralley wheels with good tires (rear one has a slow leak) the truck will not run at the moment because I do not have a wiring harness set up on it which is why I am pairing it with my 1966 GMC pickup truck. The gmc is RARE. it was a stock v6 but does not have the stock engine in it anymore. it has every option available for the year such as the chrome trim package and a stock GMC spot light on the driver door. also has a stock chrome gmc grill which is near impossible to find in that condition. this truck does run but needs a battery. it has a 3 speed on the column but needs some linkage work done. this truck is restorable but in rough condition compared to my 65. pair these trucks together and you would have a very nice truck. both trucks have common rust issues. all floor pans will need work and same with the rocker panels and cab corners. the back half of the fenders are rusted too. the bed on the 65 (blue) is rust free but needs new wood. the bed on the 66 I believe is beyond repair. as for the cabs the 65 has no rust on the lip above the windshield whatsoever. the 66 has a little on that lip but not terrible. the cab floors are in better shape in the 66 though. will sell as a pair or if interested in just one contact me. im letting them go for cheap so keep bidding! this is a good deal if you can restore this dying breed of trucks because in a few years they will be hard to find. will help load trucks onto a trailer but you come and pick them up unless you are local. these were my dreams but now they can be yours I just don't have the time for them anymore. thankyou for looking hope you like what you see!

GM under fire from safety advocates over braking problem caused by recall fix
Thu, Feb 6 2020Safety experts are lambasting General Motors over what they say is the automaker’s slow notification of owners of certain 2019 sedans and trucks that a recall fix could cause power braking to fail and increase the risk of a crash, the Detroit Free Press reports. GMÂ’s original recall in December targeted about 550,000 Cadillac CT6 sedans and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups, all from the 2019 model year, over potentially defective electronic stability control and antilock brakes. In that case, GM said the errors would not show up as a diagnostic warning on the instrument cluster. But after GM had done recall work on 162,000 vehicles, about 1,700 owner have complained that their power brakes didnÂ’t work after they had the recall done and then used the OnStar app to start their vehicle. GM then issued a supplemental fix for customers whoÂ’d already had their vehicles serviced. In this case, a diagnostic warning should illuminate saying either “Service Brake Assist” or “Service ECS,” which GM says is a signal that a customer should not drive the vehicle and instead call their dealer, which will tow the vehicle and have it repaired. Safety advocates say the automaker hasnÂ’t gone far enough to protect customers. “The fact that you could potentially start a vehicle and not have brakes is a pretty risky proposition,” Sean Kane, president of the Safety Research and Strategies, which works on auto issues for plaintiffs and governmental organizations, told the Freep. “The fact that they wouldnÂ’t notify owners (sooner) is pretty stunning.” GM told the Freep it was required to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and file paperwork before it notified customers about the original recall, which was made Dec. 12. It then had to investigate and resolve the problem created by its original recall fix before alerting customers. GMÂ’s call center and dealers are contacting the remaining 900 customers who havenÂ’t yet had the update made to the original recall repair. GM also hired a vendor to send recall letters to the 550,000 customers affected by the original recall notifying them about the update. There are no known injuries or deaths related to the problem. Buick Velite is a not-so-Volt-like plug-in hybrid concept for China
Mon, Nov 7 2016Is the Buick Velite a Volt by any other name? That's a question worth asking after General Motors said that the Buick Velite concept vehicle will make its global debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show later this month. GM says the car "will provide a template for upcoming models being launched under the Buick Blue new energy vehicle strategy." Whether that means the Velite is a variant of the second-generation of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in is open to interpretation. Some automotive publications, including Autoweek, are saying that's the case, but GM China doesn't mention the Volt in its press release, only saying that the car is a "high-performance" plug-in hybrid vehicle. As we know, GM doesn't use the "PHEV" descriptor for the Volt, which makes us thing the Velite's powertrain is more like the Cadillac CT6 PHEV. Either way, the concept was developed by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), which is a joint venture between GM and Shanghai-based SAIC. As far as the name, GM has been shopping the Velite moniker around for a while now. The automaker first used Buick Velite for the convertible concept vehicle it showed off at the 2004 New York Auto Show. More recently, GM in 2014 filed to use the name for the US variant of its Opel Cascada four-seat convertible model, which debuted in 2013. As for the second-generation version of the Volt, that model appears to be gaining favor in the US. Domestic sales of the Volt through October have surged 64 percent from a year earlier to more than 18,500 units. The new version boosted its all-electric range by 40 percent to 53 miles while increasing its power output by 20 percent.
