1963 Chevrolet K20 Pick Up on 2040-cars
Bountiful, Utah, United States
|
This is a 1963 Chevrolet K20 3/4 ton with the original drivetrain, 292 inline six with a four speed transmission and a Rockwell transfer case. The Eaton rear end has new seals and pinion bearing, new brake lines and u joints. The front is a Dana 44 with new brake lines and a new master cylinder as well as power steering added. The overall body is in decent condition, it has a new driver side rocker panel, cab corner and kick plate. The passenger side was not in need of replacing. Sound sheets with jute pad in under the new full rubber mat with a new firewall mat. The seat is not the original seat and has a large piece (5x5in) torn from the seat, it has chrome flip buckle three point seat belts and the gas tank has been boiled and sealed, with a new sending unit. New speedometer cable, but the mph needle has broke off, the odometer works, not the sure on correct mileage. The driver side door has been opened too far at some point so it has the normal dent. The over all quality of the doors are pretty good, the bottoms are free from rust, the outer skin has two rust spots in both doors. They both have new weather stripping in the main windows and around the cab. The rear quarters of both front fenders will need to be replaced or leave as is for added character. The bedsides are in very good condition, the driver side at some point had a spare tank and what remains is a hole where the filler hose was. The tail gate has some minor rust in a few spots with some dents on the top due to pick up truck use. The rear bumper has some good rust with holes, but it is original. It still has the original spiral shocks all around for the added bounce in its step. The frame is in great shape. The front springs have been replaced with some early '70s Chevy trucks, which are longer, so I added some Liquid Iron shackle sliders to accommodate the length. I have all the original leafs and shackles to return if needed. The bed wood is about shot, its there but I will be replacing this summer if not sold. The engine runs strong, it does leak oil, has a new Weber carb, plugs, wires, distributor, and hoses. The radiator looks like it was chipped by the fan at some point in its life, about a 2x4 piece, it does not leak and works just fine. It has a new heater core and a deluxe heater option with an inline bus heater for cold mornings (I bypassed the heater switch so right now antifreeze is flowing through it all the time, I have the original core that could be replaced if wanted). The Mack Bulldog on the hood will NOT be included in the sale, but the horse shoe will! Please keep in mind this truck is 50 years old so it will have its quirks. The buyer is responsible for shipping but I will help, $1,000.00 deposit in my account is required 48 hours after sale and the remainder is due at time of pick up in exchange for the above truck and clean title. Again, CASH only please. Thank you and good luck! On Mar-02-14 at 13:54:42 PST, seller added the following information: RESERVE IS OFF!!!! GOOD LUCK!!! |

Jay Leno drives Joe Rogan's '65 Chevy Corvette restomod
Tue, Sep 1 2015Restomod classics often look great rolling down the road, but they can be an absolute mess underneath. That's the problem comedian Joe Rogan discovered after purchasing his 1965 Corvette convertible that was already extensively modified. Once work began to improve it further, some serious issues were discovered. Now, Rogan's rejuvenated 'Vette has received a thorough update on the latest, extra-long edition of Jay Leno's Garage. Rogan's additional upgrades include a new interior and adding nacelles behind the seats. Power is up thanks to a supercharger for the LS1 V8. Now only do you get to hear the engine roar, but Leno and Rogan also take the convertible for a long ride in the Los Angeles hills. They reminisce about liking cars as kids, the current state of General Motors, and Rogan's work with the UFC. Leno also shares a funny story about a confusing discussion with Marlon Brando. With the beautiful 'Vette and the great conversation, there's a lot here to like. Related Video:
General Motors and EVs: No stranger to firsts, but where's the leadership?
Tue, Apr 7 20152015 is already shaping up to be the year of "affordable, 200-mile EV" concepts. Nissan and Tesla have each been talking about them for some time, the latter promising to unveil its Model 3 at the North American International Auto Show in January before balking when the time came. Instead, Chevrolet beat them all by unveiling the Bolt concept at the same event, followed shortly thereafter with suggestions of a 2016 launch – potentially offering the first nationwide EV with anything close to that range. It was the ballsiest EV-related move General Motors has made in a quarter century. But will it remain so? Exactly 25 years before the Bolt rolled up onto the turntable, then-Chairman Roger Smith unveiled GM's last ground-up EV concept, the even-more-unfortunately-named Impact, at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 1990. A few months later, he surprised most of his colleagues by announcing its intended production in honor of Earth Day. It was the first modern foray into electric vehicles for the US by any automaker, one that was rewarded by the State of California with what is now known as the Zero Emissions Vehicle mandate. The program not only forced other automakers into competing with Roger's pet project, but inspired all of them to fight it like small children against bedtime. Some years later, the drivers themselves weighed in, with a biting documentary about that obstinance and the leadership it cost both GM and the country. Within months, GM was first back into the fray of plug-in vehicles. Many criticized the company for starting with a PHEV rather than jump straight back into EVs. The choice wasn't totally out of the blue – even EV1 was meant to be followed by a PHEV. And especially on the heels of Who Killed the Electric Car?, some skittishness was understandable: even a successful EV would invite a "we told you so" public reaction, underscoring their mistake in ending the EV1 program. If a new EV didn't do well, they'd be convicted in the public eye as serial killers. All while seeking a federal bailout. For all the flak, the resulting Chevy Volt was and is a better car than GM has ever gotten credit for. But the company seemed to grow weary of having to overcome its varied past, and while the current owners remain happy, much of the stakeholder and community engagement that so effectively built early goodwill and sales growth faded not long after launch. Marketing has been spotty in both consistency and effectiveness.
Buick Encore, Chevy Trax reportedly dead after 2022
Fri, Mar 18 2022The Buick Encore will not get an encore, and the Chevrolet Trax is dead in its tracks. Separate unverified reports say the two crossovers, which are essentially identical underneath the sheetmetal, will retire at the end of the 2022 model year without being directly replaced. Citing anonymous sources, enthusiast website GM Authority wrote that production of the Encore and the Trax is scheduled to end in the third quarter of 2022. Both models are manufactured in Bupyeong-gu, South Korea, and General Motors will reportedly use the extra production capacity to build more examples of the Trailblazer, which outsold the Encore and the Trax combined by a significant margin in 2021. General Motors hasn't commented on the report, but we wouldn't be surprised if the end is indeed near for the Encore and the Trax. Buick released the Encore for the 2013 model year, and Chevrolet launched the Trax for 2015, but the model made its debut as the Opel Mokka in 2012. It's at the end of its life cycle, and sales figures reflect this: 20,072 units of the Encore were sold in America in 2021, a drop of 52% compared to 2020, while 42,590 examples of the Trax found a home, a 60% decline. It's further proof that Americans don't like small cars. Viewed in that light, the decision not to replace either crossover makes perfect sense. If the report is accurate, the Encore GX (which is not related to the Encore in any way) will enter the 2023 model year as Buick's entry-level model. The situation is a little more complicated at Chevrolet: The pocket-sized Spark is on its way out in 2022 as well, meaning that the Trailblazer will become the entry point into the range. It's a different story in Europe: Opel, which is now part of the Stellantis group, released the second-generation Mokka in June 2020.
