Beautiful ’70 C10 Chevy step-side pickup truck with the shop/patina theme was a complete frame off show restore somewhere around 2001. Sometime after ’06, the owner got tired of the truck sitting in a garage and started driving it…..which enhanced the weathering/patina of the truck. Since I have owned the truck, it has been completely gone through in order to make the truck as dependable as possible. This truck is a super cool “driver” that is practical enough for daily or long trips. I know this phrase is way over used, but “I would drive the truck anywhere”……. don’t worry about bringing a trailer to pick it up. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine was not modified as I wanted it to be practical and dependable for everyday driving, get descent gas mileage, and have a retro look. There is not a peck or tick whatsoever in the engine compartment. - 350 4 bolt main engine w/ 350 turbo tranny…truck runs 80-85mph on the interstate with no problem whatsoever -Trans kick-down cable is hooked up and works great - Weiand intake -Coated headers w/ Flowmasters (40 series) -New plugs/wires/oil change...everything in drive train has been recently serviced and is ready to go -Trans cooler installed -3 core radiator upgrade…this truck can idle in the desert for days and not run hot -16-18mpg on average EXTERIOR: The sheet metal of this truck is original (not a Frankenstein creation) and is in excellent shape(perfectly straight)….it only has normal wear that adds to the overall character of a patina vehicle……the truck is weathered, not dented or rusted to death. There is a small ding in the crease of the front right fender(see pics/video)…easy to fix if you want to “slick” the truck….and there are some paint chips/minor stratches from normal wear. All the suspension/steering components of this truck were rebuilt/replaced. I wanted the most practical suspension I could find and to have the lowest stance possible without c-notching, so I went with an Early Classic Enterprise 4/6 drop kit, and stance and ride of this truck is perfect. -Suspension is a 4/6 complete drop kit from Early Classic Enterprise that includes drop spindles, springs, KYB GR2 shocks w/ relocators, super track bar….this kit provides for a killer stance with awesome ride without any shake or vibration at any speed -5 lug with New 20” Boss 8.5 front & back wheels w/ Michelin tires....this truck was built to drive so I went with the same size wheels and tires so they could be rotated properly. -Power Steering & Power Disc Brakes up front with New front calipers/rotors/pads/rear drums and shoes -New bearing carrier -Early Classic hidden hitch with adjustable air shocks in the rear for towing/hauling….very nice feature -Note that this truck has the ‘73-’87 front end suspension upgrade…crossmember / A-arms/sway bar that were professionally installed and lined…very nice upgrade from the ’67-’72 front ends...you can let go of the steering wheel at any spend and it holds as true as a new vehicle -Sway bar with new Moog bushings….sway bars are a must on these trucks…improves handling tremendously -Cab mounts are in excellent shape -Cab corners/rockers/kick panels /all the notorious places for rust on these trucks are in great shape -GM Bahama blue base coat/ clear coat…..beautiful color! -Floor of the bed is showing its age, but again it just adds to the nostalgic appeal of the truck - You can tell the truck was a complete frame off restoration around 10-12 yrs old based on the undercarriage...it is very clean with only minor surface rust....no undercoating or paint trying to hide anything under this truck. A couple of the undercarriage pics have been attached to listing and represent it extremely well. I have tons of undercarriage pics that I can text...just let me know -The doors shut as good as a new Chevy truck....see video -Note that the Shop Logo is superficial to the clear coat, and with a little lacquer thinner, can be removed in about 5 mins. INTERIOR: The interior is very clean and the floor is extremely solid with no rust. -Cab has been insulated with sound mat/jute -New floor mat -Original style AM/FM radio with cd/iPod/mp3 upgrade & new speaker - All cab/glass seals are in great shape -New 3 point(shoulder) seat belts from Brothers …also installed a middle lap belt -New Houndstooth seat cover -New gas tank with sending unit -All glass is in perfect shape -Windows work great and wing glass opens perfectly -All gauges work properly NEEDS: -Parking brake cable needs to be attached inside cab….cable does come with truck. -Currently has a small trans leak where speedo cable attaches Note that if I get a chance, I will address both of these small issues before truck is sold, but I can’t guarantee that I will be able to get to them….so truck is being sold as is.
Check out the video of this truck on YouTube at Overall, this is a beautiful truck that is extremely nice and super clean with a lot of character and personality. The truck is shop/patina truck as is, but the sheet metal/body on the truck is in such great shape it is ready to block sand and paint if you want a traditional show truck. There is one small ding in the crease of the front passenger fender(see pic./video) and the front bed petition has a slight bend…these quirks add to the overall appearance of the patina style, but if you want to “slick” the truck, they will need to be addressed. If you like the shop/patina style trucks, this one is super nice. It was not just thrown and pieced together, and if you see it, you will realize the attention to detail that was taken with this truck. This is a no excuse truck, and I have described it to the best of my knowledge. I am not trying to hide anything on this truck and encourage anyone interested in a C10 to come look. You are more than welcome to send a 3rd party inspector to assess the truck and make sure it is describe accurately. If need be, I will do my best with assisting with shipping of the truck, but the buyer is responsible for setup and all expenses. If you have any questions or want other pics, please don’t hesitate to ask. Serious inquires only! A deposit of $500 is due within 48 hrs. from auctions end with balance due in cash, wire transfer, or cashier’s check from bank(check will need to be verified before truck is released). Vehicle is sold as-is. Clean/Clear title in my name with matching numbers on the original door tag and glove box….. Email, call 606-598-9953 evenings after 5pm, or the best way to reach me is via text at 606-813-2045 ANYTIME.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
