2002 Chevrolet Blazer Ls Sport Utility 2-door 4.3l on 2040-cars
Madelia, Minnesota, United States
Up for bid is a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer 2DR 4x4 vehicle. This vehicle was a DWI forfeiture in 2013 and is up for bid for auction for the City of Madelia, MN.
Vehicle is a two door, 4x4, tan in color. Exterior: There is several areas of cosmetic damage including a cracked right rear bumper. There are scuff marks on all three other bumpers. There is some paint fading on the upper trim. There is a ding mark above the driver's side door latch. There is black paint transfer and scuff marks by the front driver's side tire. There is blue paint transfer about one inch in width down the entire passenger side of vehicle. Rear hatch opens and closes. Noted electrical tape on the defrost system for rear window; it is unknown if it works. Interior: The interior of the vehicle is in good condition. The radio says "LOC" and does not appear to be working so there is currently no AM/FM or CD. Mechanic advised this was a previous battery issue and it most likely can be reset at the dealership and be in working condition. There is a spot/stain on the dash. Cable/latch system is broken on the right rear seat so it will not fold down. Power windows and doors work. Seats are in good condition. No major scuffs or rips noted. Air conditioner works. Heater unknown. Rear trunk latch plastic is cracked but functional. Engine: Vehicle is in running condition. 4 wheel drive tested and works. Unknown on ABS as we did not test them out. Mechanical inspection completed prior to listing for sale. No warranty or guarantee on engine condition. Tires: Two tires appear to be new or close to new. One tire appears to have about 30% wear left and will have to be replaced fairly soon. The other tire on the vehicle is the spare. The actual tire is in the trunk. Two of the hubcaps are missing on the tires on the vehicle. The rim in the trunk does have its hubcap Keys: We have one key and a working key fob for this vehicle that unlocks and opens rear hatch. Inspections can be made by appointment and questions can be addressed by contacting the Chief of Police at 507-642-3246. The vehicle can be started but can not be driven on the roadway because license plates have been pulled from the vehicle. Winning bidder will be responsible for obtaining plates, registration, and insurance to move the vehicle or the vehicle can be trailered away from its location. Local pickup only. This vehicle is offered for sale as is with no warranty and no guarantees. All sales are final. Payment will be made by cash or cashiers check only to the City of Madelia within seven(7) days of close of auction. |

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?
Sat, Sep 23 2017If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below. Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt sales both down in June
Wed, Jul 1 2015The best news you can slice out of today's sales reports for June 2015 is that things have to get better at some point. Most likely, sales of the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt will see a big increase once the second-generation models of both vehicles arrive (the Volt later this year and the Leaf, well, at some point after that). For now, though, the best-selling EVs in the US are both suffering compared to where the numbers were at last year. The numbers are also suffering compared to last month, which was the best of the year so far for both vehicles. Looking just at June, though, Leaf sales totaled 2,074 units, down 11.6 percent from a year ago (the EV sold 2,347 units in June 2014). The world's best-selling EV is now down 22.9 percent for the year so far (12,736 in 2014 vs. 9,816 in 2015). Things are a bit worse over at Chevy, where news about the pretty-much-better-in-all-ways second-gen Volt is coming out with great frequency. Nonetheless, people are still buying the outgoing Volt, snapping up 1,225 units in June. That's down 31.1 percent from the 1,777 sold in June 2014. So far in 2015, the Chevy has sold 5,622 Volts, a drop of 34.7 percent from the 8,615 Volts sold in the first six months of 2014. As always, we're working on our full tally of green car sales for June and will bring that to you shortly. For now, discuss the sales of these two plug-in pioneers in our Comments, below. Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Detroit Auto Show [w/poll]
Wed, Jan 14 2015Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show
