It was garaged for most of its existence as you'll see - NO Rust (slight on back hatch hinges but nothing major).  And currently garaged. We live in Eastern Oregon, considered "high desert" so dry, dry climate.  We also have a place in Stanislaus county, California so we can deliver.  We'll be in that area so possible delivery - ask about those details. Our local mechanic could not believe how perfect and great shape the engine and all the working parts are, he said, they didn't even appeared worn at all. Original 350 engine, 114,00k original miles.  We bought it with 105,368miles, took a trip to California and it drives smoother than my 2500HD Duramax!.  Interior is all original, perfect condition. The air conditioner is the only thing that does not work.  Heater is perfect, insta-hot, just like the old days.  All original emblems. On the right side of the top, near the right side of the back window, there is some minor dent, probable running to something where the previous owners tried to bond - see detailed photo.  Other that this there is just normal wear on this vehicle - no major dents! We just detailed it so it is pristine clean throughout. It has the original factory installed Cassette Player AM/FM Radio.  Dash is original, perfect condition as it has been covered with the dash mat you see in the photos.  Entire dash is in great shape, with original white paint, vents, knobs - all very nice.  It is 4 wheel drive, with manual (aftermarket) Warn hubs, we have the original hubs if you want those.  New tires with 8600mi on them - see photo showing the tread.  While in detailing small spots of paint came off, so it may be an indication the hood was repainted at one point, not sure and previous owner did not know.  A paint professional could tell you that - we just want to disclose all the information we know about.  We added the grill guard, (another $900) due to the area we live in has lots of deer, so we wanted to protect the vehicle.  We also added a second battery for extra starting power and we purchased but never installed the sliding back windows which we will include in this sale. Those of you enthusiast that know the value can appreciate, not only this rare model of vehicle in this condition but that all is original as you'll see these days - at this price.  We wanted it, bought it, enjoyed it and now want to move on with our next project.  Engine/ride is so smooth, quiet, truly a great vehicle.  Call us with any questions.  Mike 541-805-8886

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
