1978 Chevy K5 Blazerjimmy 4x4 Auto on 2040-cars
Stockton, California, United States
1978 GMC Jimmy (Blazer) K1500. (K5) 4x4. Automatic. I have listed it as a Jimmy but everyone asks "what's a Jimmy?" I just put the rest of the smog equiptment back on and it passed smog on Friday 10/18/2013. I am in no rush to get rid of it. It is a work in progress. I am going to start working on the interior this week and honestly the farther i get the less likely i will be to budge on the price. This thing was a basket case when i got it. It had no motor/tranny, no dash, no seats, no steering column, no top..... So it is a 200% improvement than when i got it. I have put a lot of work into it and it is pertty close to being done. I have a couple boxes of stock parts. It still needs a few things. Cons: Speedo is not working Gas gauge is not working A fender bolt needs attention Interior is pretty bare Pros: Small block 350 w/4 bolt main with all new gaskets from top to bottom. TH 350 Transmission New timing chain Edelbrock Performer intake Lifted Rancho's all the way around Bucket seats w/ rear jump seat (rear seat needs seat-belts) Duel front stabilizers New water pump New aluminum flex fan Smog legal Hedmen headers Duel exhaust w/Flowmaster 35x12.50 x 15" on steel wheels Removable fiberglass top w/sliding windows Body is in pretty damn nice shape for being 34 years old Tilt wheel Power steering Power brakes Power windows GT (Grant) Steering wheel Clean title in hand It needs tires and a couple little things so I will knock down the price but I will not entertain lowball offers. I have it posted in a couple places so I will not take the lowest offer. Please be sure to read the ad and look at the pics. Not looking to waste my time or yours. If i do not answer just leave me a voicemail and i will get back to you when i can. Mike (916) 470-0372 |

Chevy SS to get 1LE-like handling pack
Tue, Feb 17 2015Chevrolet engineers have more plans for the SS, but official approval stands between their wishes and our driving commands. After getting the no-cost option for a six-speed manual last year, Motor Trend reports that some company boffins want to throw the Camaro's track-focused 1LE package at it. On the Camaro that means the Performance Ride and Handling suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and 20-inch wheels all around concerning the road-focused bits. MT says that a 1LE on the SS would shed the staggered tires for one size all around, and get new dampers and a new suspension tune. It wouldn't turn the SS into a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, but the SS could do even more with its 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet, hopefully without sacrificing too much of its plush road comfort in the process. It's said that a production example could be done in less than six months, but it sounds like the approval process will take longer. Watch a 2015 Corvette Z06 run the quarter in 11.7 seconds
Sun, Dec 28 2014We're not writing about this because it's an amazing run, we're writing about it because it appears to be the first run. Someone took a 2015 Corvette Z06 to Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas and blasted it down through the quarter mile. It's still wearing the dealer number in wax pen on the windshield and dealer plates, so this example is fresh from the mold. It's also a seven-speed manual. General Motors said the row-your-own Z06 can do the 'strip in 11.2 seconds, and they undoubtedly had a professional driver and more than one run to set that time. To have Just Some Guy show up at the raceway and do an 11.7 at 120.54 mph on his first run means we expect good things to come as Z06s get delivered to their owners. Check out the run in the video.
Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out
Thu, 29 Apr 2010Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.
