Love Tri 5's but they all look so similar, check this out! This 55 Chevy Coupe was found on an Indian Reservation in South Dakota, and was than purchased by a man in Nebraska who owned a vintage vehicle salvage yard. The car was than taken to Alabama to be sold for parts or restoration, but fortunately car was found buy its current owner and brought back to life in Pennsylvania. The car had little body damage, and only two small areas had rusted through. The paint, door, window regulators and latches where all original and had never been removed. Chassis had light rust, frame or suspension parts were slightly corroded, and chassis had original shock absorbers. The entire floor pan was intact except the center section of the trunk floor. All the body supports, reinforcement plates, inner and outer rocker panels and rear wheel housings where without rust. During that year the needed front end parts were located and the entire body was stripped to bare metal. The entire frame, all chassis, and suspension components were cleaned and coated with black POR15 coating. The body and front sheet metal was placed on the frame and delivered to the restoration shop for body work and paint. Seven months later the beautifully painted car returned to the owners garage. From there the next 18 months the car underwent assembly. When 90 percent done, it was taken to Ambassador House in Herman, PA for custom upholstery and carpet. This beautifully, professionally done car took just under four years to complete, including time away for other matters. (Approx 2001 completion)

Several publications including Street Rodder Magazine have done articles on engine build ups using this engine as the base motor. When the engines were dyno'd for baseline horsepower they were equipped as recommended by GM with a four barrel carb and headers. The engines all based out at 310 horsepower or better. It has been stated that GM uses SAE standards when dyno testing. These standards tend to be conservative. This is why the engine is advertised at 290 horsepower.

Paint- Paint is extremely smooth and shiny and has been rubbed to a mirror like finish. In looking the car over, there appear to be no nicks or scratches. Paint matches beautifully all the way around. There are no imperfections in the paint and is professionally and beautifully done, with great quality.

Body- Body is extremely straight and expertly repaired. The fits around the hood, doors, and trunk all look very uniform and correct. (see pictures) Being extremely critical, the hood may have a little bit more gap on the left side than the right.

Magnetic Gage- The body was tested in random areas and metal was always found. That together with actual photos of the body during preparation shows how nice the condition of this body was prior to the build.

Bright Work- The areas surrounding the glass are impeccable, it is mounted well and looks like new. The spears down the side, they are extremely straight and the finish is beautiful. Same is true with the chrome on the front and the rear, it looks in new condition and flawless.

Glass- Glass is all new, and was purchased from a distributor. There are no wiper marks, cracks, scratches, or discoloring. Keeping in mind this car only has approx 300 miles on it.

Interior- Beautifully and custom, that was all done by a professional. The headliner is all vinyl, is the interior stainless, the interior bright works and the ribs going across the top. There is no wear on the interior or damaged areas, and still has a very new smell to it. Bright work on dash and the coloring appears as close to new as you can imagine.

Trunk- Trunk was all custom done at the same time, and still looks and smells probably as fresh as the day it was completed. Look closely at the pictures for a good description and layout of the design.

Tires and Wheels- Tires show no cracking or damage, curb damage, dents, or flaws in the finish. Again just like new condition- Fronts 10/32 Rears 11/32

.

Chassis- The frame is in a black semi gloss, matted finish. Owner wanted car to look good, yet be drivable. The mount for the rack of course is added on. Notice the attention to detail when you look at different components in the build. The dual exhaust that runs all the way to the back, filtering system, are all very neatly constructed, and still looks very nice and fresh.

Engine- Engine compartment is all custom designed. If you look at the component list, as well as the photos, this would probably describe it best.

Test Drive- We did check, and all of the gauges are working, as well as the shifter, emergency brake, and AM/FM radio. Chad and the owner drove car around15 to 20 miles. Chad drove the car back, the steering has good response. Car has a rack and pinon power steering. Drive Tran and engine runs nice and preforms as it should. Transmission shifts correctly up and down as it was designed. Brakes, which are not power do require a little more pressure, but not much. Upon stopping car does not pull or pulsate.( Mileage showing on car)it actually has approx 270 miles on it prior to the odometer. There was a programing problem that didn’t get corrected, so car has 13 plus 270 that was on it. Current owner has never had an accident in this car. Included is a Pennsylvania title with except odometer.

Welcome to Auto Connection

Conditions of Sale:
Auto Connection is NOT a car dealer; but more like a real estate agent. They are a 3rd party agent, representing both buyer AND seller. The vehicles they sell are from private owners and collectors, and they provide advertising, marketing, and consulting services for individuals, companies, or dealers.

The Auto Connection representative has physically viewed the item being sold. The information comes from the seller and other research sources. Auto Connection is not responsible for any misrepresentation by the seller and/or errors in research results, including history statements of vehicle history, repairs, etc.

This vehicle is being sold AS IS and without a warranty, unless otherwise stated.

Information about serial numbers, engine numbers, and any other codes does not guarantee a vehicle’s authenticity. These codes and numbers are not guaranteed to be the same as the information on the vehicle ID or vin, trim tag, engine block, cylinder heads, transmission, differential, or other components within this vehicle. Auto Connection does not guarantee documentation, authenticity, repairs, mechanical work, titles, odometer discrepancies, matching numbers, stamped engines, casting numbers, or any other codes, tags, or numbers. The potential for reproduction paper documentation exists, as well as restamped engines and reproduced trim/data tags.

Auto Connection has described this vehicle to the best of their knowledge, but does not guarantee the accuracy of the description. Prospective buyers are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence, including a physical inspection of the vehicle in person, or through a qualified third party inspector/appraiser. We welcome inspections and even have an 8 page professional vehicle inspection form you or your appraiser can use.

The vehicle will remain for sale until a buyer has placed a deposit on it. This deposit is nonrefundable with the exception of the vehicle being severely misrepresented by Auto Connection or the seller, or stipulated in the Bill of Sale.

It is possible that this vehicle will be sold at a higher price than the highest bid (before or after the auction ends), if the reserve is not met. After the sale (if reserve is met or not), Auto Connection must receive at least a 10% deposit (wire transfer or official bank or cashier’s check) within 3 days of the end of the auction (or the Bill of Sale is signed). The high bidder/buyer has 10 days from this time to send the balance in full or final payment and inspect the vehicle (or have a 3rd party professional inspection).

For the most part, the vehicle for sale is not “perfect”. It is unreasonable to assume that every single flaw in the paint, body, engine, etc. or any minor mechanical items (such as a light not working) be considered a reason to refuse the vehicle. Major rust/rot, undisclosed problems with the frame, etc. might constitute a legitimate reason for the buyer to refuse to follow through with the sale. In that situation, Auto Connection would negotiate with the seller and buyer to try to reach an agreeable solution.

The buyer acknowledges that he has had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle to verify it is as listed and represented. He accepts the vehicle with all advertised equipment, options and accessories in "AS IS" condition with any faults or defects. The buyer will bear all future costs of repairs or correcting any defects that exist or may occur in the future. The seller will have no responsibility or liability for any consequential damages or injury caused by any failure or malfunction of the vehicle or any components. Chevy Bolt meets 2016 Nissan Leaf at LA NEDW event [UPDATE]

Mon, Sep 14 2015

The 2015 National Drive Electric Week kicked off this past weekend with events happening all around the world. Our friends from Plug In America (PIA) send us some notes and pictures from one of the larger events in Los Angeles, CA. This event was special because it saw the debut of the 2016 Nissan Leaf and the west coast debut of the Chevy Bolt concept. The two electric vehicles were in the same place at the same time for the first time ever. Besides that little bit of electric vehicle history, the organizers helped facilitate 800 test drives, PIA co-founder Zan Dubin Scott told AutoblogGreen. The city of Los Angeles also gave proclamations to movie director Chris Paine (Who Killed The Electric Car? and Revenge Of The Electric Car) and the three national organizers of Drive Electric Week: PIA, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. Speakers at the event included names that should be familiar to AutoblogGreen readers: California state senator Kevin de Leon, race car driver Leilani Munter, and Dave Barthmuss of General Motors, among others. Joel Levin, the executive director of Plug In America, said during his speech that, "Electric cars are changing the world. Every time one of these vehicles gets sold, our air gets a little cleaner. We will take a big bite out of climate change. Our economy will not be subject to wild swings in gas prices. And we will not be involved in foreign wars over oil." Tell us about your own NEDW events (that happened already or are about to happen) in the Comments below. UPDATE: We received the text of Andrew Speaker's comments at the event. Speaker is Nissan's director of Electric Vehicle (EV) Sales & Marketing. We've included them below. Thank you, and good afternoon! On behalf of Nissan, we are proud to sponsor National Drive Electric Week, and we're excited to be able to celebrate it here in Los Angeles with all of you. This is actually my first National Drive Electric Week event, and I am inspired by the level of enthusiasm here today, and seeing everyone's passion for electric vehicles first hand. Nissan has had some big news in the last few days with the introduction of the 2016 Nissan LEAF, which is the world's first affordable electric car to get more than 100 miles of range on a single charge. The 2016 LEAF offers a new 30 kWh battery with an EPA-rated 107 miles of range... and its making its global debut here in Los Angeles.

2016 Chevy Camaro performance figures released

Mon, Sep 14 2015

If you want to make a car faster, there are two sure-fire ways to get the job done – add power and/or reduce weight. Chevy has done both for the 2016 Camaro, putting as much as 455 horsepower into its muscle coupe and shaving a few hundred pounds from every trim. That range-topping power comes courtesy of a 6.2-liter V8 engine, and it's enough grunt to push an automatic-equipped Camaro SS to 60 miles per hour in just 4.0 seconds flat (4.3 seconds with a manual) and down the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds at 116 mph (12.5 at 115 for the stick). Not coincidentally, those acceleration specs, at least on paper, put the V8-powered Camaro SS just above the Mustang GT on the muscle-car pecking order. When the road gets twisty, Chevy claims the Camaro SS can generate as much as .97 g on the skidpad. And, thanks in part to its Goodyear Eagle F1 summer tires, the SS can stop from 60 in as little as 117 feet. We look forward to finding out how nimble the new Camaro feels when compared to its primary competitors. <p>Your browser does not support iframes.</p> Moving down one notch to the 335-hp 3.6-liter V6, properly equipped 2016 Camaro coupes can hit 60 in as few as 5.1 seconds and cover the quarter in 13.5 at 103. Perhaps even more intriguingly, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and its 275 horsepower (the only configuration quicker with a manual transmission, incidentally) can propel the Camaro to 60 in 5.4 seconds and through the 'ol 1320 in 14 seconds flat. That's seriously quick, but buyers comparing the Camaro to the Mustang will find that the EcoBoost 2.3-liter is a bit more powerful (310 hp and 320 lb-ft) and quicker (5.1 seconds to 60). Chevy is making lots of noise about the efforts its engineers went through to shed weight from the 2016 Camaro, going so far as to shave down suspension bolts so that no thread went unthreaded. The weight-saving obsession pays off – base Camaro models are down 390 pounds while the SS model drops 223 pounds over the 2015. The 2016 Camaro SS boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 8.1 lbs per pony, a 14-percent improvement over the last-gen. Even though weight is down, chassis stiffness is said to be up by 28 percent over the fifth-gen Camaro coupe. Also of note: The Camaro is now lighter than the Mustang across the board when comparing like-to-like configuration levels. The 2016 Chevy Camaro starts at $26,695 (including $995 for destination).

All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)

Thu, Sep 30 2021

Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.   No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?
