1963 Chevy Biscayne 2 door sedan 550hp Twin Turbo LS 5.3 .. Dare to be different...This is the ultimate sleeper still wearing its original 6 cyl badging, truly a Wolf in sheeps clothing .. Now is your chance to own This Biscayne, it has awesome patina that only mother nature, father time and the California sun and acid rain can create, looks like leopard print on roof hood and trunk.. It started life as a 6 cyl powerglide car from the gangland of Compton California wearing a real bullet hole in the left front fender…This Biscayne has tens of thousands of dollars invested not counting hours and hours of labor invested to build this cool ride… This car is the ultimate cruiser or street bruiser... Biscayne features a 550 hp twin turbo Chevy 5.3 LS on 4 wheel air bags and 4 wheel disc brakes.. This car is a million times more fun than any shiny trailer queen, don’t spend your weekends washing and waxing or worrying about something happening to your paint, spend it driving and enjoying.. Load up the kids and go get an ice cream, go fishing, go surfing, load up coolers, BBQ, chairs, and friends and family and go tailgating.. haul your tools and junk in it, you can eat and drink in it, lean on it, put a trailer hitch on it and tow your trailer queen, you can even have fun racing other unsuspecting hot rod owners. Don’t kid yourself this car was built for fun and will give you smiles from ear to ear when you stab the throttle and you hear the whine of the turbos spooling up throwing you back in the seats (this car runs hard).. This car was built to be enjoyed and driven, it gets more looks and attention when driven than any $150,000 shiny trailer queen…No need for an expensive garage to store it in, just a a slab of concrete and car cover will do.. This car runs on cheap high octane E85 fuel that will make the liberal tree huggers happy and is easy on your wallet… The great thing with turbos is they are a tame kitty kat when putted around but an animal when you stab the throttle… What’s more fun owning this car or watching your 401K balance fluctuate with every rotten thing the government does or worry that Rats like Bernie Madoff or the Enron scammers will take it? Eventually the piss-poor broke government will figure out how to dip into your hard earned money to fund their next scam/bailout, Just like they did social security, so invest in cars and memories enjoy it now… click on link to see the article written about it this month in CHEVYHARDCORE magazine http://www.chevyhardcore.com/news/battle-scarred-63-biscayne/ I addressed minor rust issues caused by window left down.. I replaced rear floor pans and patches front driverside floor as needed with reproduction floor pans.. great body mounts rockers floors and trunk.. This Biscayne is structurally sound and solid, but this car isn’t about perfection, its about patina and scars/bullet hole on the original paint creating the perfect distressed look as only time can do… If you understand this style of car then you will understand it is absolutely perfect in all its imperfections and is complete and finished. I encourage personal inspection prior to bidding, no joy rides…

Nissan Leaf sets new November sales record, Chevy Volt drops again
Tue, Dec 2 2014When you talk to people in the plug-in vehicle industry, one theme you hear repeatedly is that the more plug-in cars that are out there, the better things are for everyone. One reason is that more EVs build a need for more public chargers, and more chargers mean more people see that plugging in is feasible. But there's still something to be said for old-fashioned competition, and in the sales race between the two long-running plug-in vehicles in the US, the Nissan Leaf is resoundingly beating the Chevy Volt for 2014. In fact, it won't be long before the EV's cumulative sales top the PHEV's. But that's a topic for another month. For now, we have the sales results from November. Unsurprisingly, Nissan set another monthly record (that is, the best Leaf sales in any November, the 22nd time in a row we've seen a monthly record) with 2,687 sales last month. That's up 34 percent over last November and up 35 percent year-to-date. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of electric vehicle marketing, said in a statement that, "Our 'Kick Gas' ad campaign and 'No Charge to Charge' launch in Chicago and Atlanta drove an increase in November Leaf sales. Even with gas prices falling across the country, consumers appreciate that the cost of driving a Nissan Leaf is still a fraction of that of a gas-powered car." Over on the Chevy side of the ledger, there were 1,336 Volt sales last month, down 30.4 percent from the 1,920 sold in November 2013. So far this year, Volt sales are down 16.4 percent and Chevy has sold 17,315 Volts in 2014. As we said last month, the Volt slump might be due to people waiting on the new version to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show next month before going on sale in the second half of 2015. So far in 2014, Nissan has sold 27,098 Leafs. Look for our detailed post of US green car sales in the near future. Until then, please discuss last month's Leaf and Volt sale in the comments, below. Body shop manager stole over $500,000 worth of government trucks and parts
Fri, Jan 27 2017The US Department of Justice announced yesterday that the manager of a collision and restoration business in Virginia admitted he helped misappropriate and sell vehicles and parts from the State Department. Specifically, he sold 12 Chevrolet Suburbans, a Hummer, and $7,500 worth of tires and wheels. He pled guilty to charges to commit theft of government property and wire fraud. He will likely see 18 to 20 months in prison, a fine of $4,000 to $40,000, and has already agreed to pay restitution of $416,020 and asset forfeiture of the same amount. According to the Department of Justice, the body shop manager, James Ratcliffe, worked with the owner of the business and a State Department official, both unnamed, to obtain the property. It started with the wheels and tires, which were delivered and sold on two occasions, one in 2011 and another in 2012. The trucks came later, and were sold throughout 2011 and 2013. Ratcliffe and the shop owner kept most of the profits, and shared some of the leftovers with the government official. In addition to the vehicles that were sold, the government official also gave Ratcliffe a pair of Suburbans for his own personal use. The Department of Justice estimated the total value of the SUVs at $96,400. In total, the group misappropriated $512,420 worth of property. Related Video:
GM reintroduces Tripower name in the worst way possible
Wed, Aug 1 2018The story of General Motors' use of the Tripower moniker begins way back in 1957, when Semon E. "Bunkie" Knudsen, then General Manager of GM's Pontiac division, directed his engineers to inject more performance into his brand's line of V8-powered automobiles. Fuel injection was an option, but hot rodders flocked instead to Tri-Power (marketed way back when with a hyphen), which grafted a trio of two-barrel Rochester carburetors onto a single intake manifold. A legend was born. And that legend was born of performance. At idle and when full power wasn't required, Pontiac's Tri-Power system used just the middle carburetor, which helped make the setup easier to tune. Depending on the year and model, either a vacuum system or a mechanical linkage opened up the two outer carbs, thereby switching from two barrels to six, and allowing the engine to take in more fuel and air. And it was an easy marketing win – six barrels is better than four barrels, right? Because performance! So, when news filtered in that GM has resurrected the Tripower name, those of us who grew up attending classic car shows and wrenching on old Pontiacs did a double-take. And then we all collectively sighed. Turns out that today's Tripower refers to a trio of fuel-saving measures that include cylinder deactivation, active thermal management, and intake valve lift control, according to Automotive News. And, at least for now, it applies to GM's line of fullsize trucks powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. We're all for saving fuel whenever possible. And we have zero say in how any automaker chooses to market its products and technologies. But, we'll offer our two cents anyway: Relaunching a storied name from the past is fine. Relaunching a storied name from the past while completely overlooking the reasons the name got famous in the first place is only going to irritate the people who remember the name in the first place. Couldn't they just call this new technology package something else?
