Up for sale here is a rare unmolested 2 door 1961 bel air that was originally purchased in Taledaga Al. This car has a sinister stance with new 18 and 20 inch coy wheels/tires. Up front the entire front end has been rebuilt, new bushings, new cross drilled rotors, new 1.5 inch lowered springs from CCP. It has brand new true dual flowmaster exhaust that is run all the way out if the back of the car. New floor pans have been installed from the front to the back(request pics) dynamat material in the floor pans makes the car really quiet and keeps the temp down. The trunk pan is solid and detailed to new. The trans is a turbo 350 auto that shifts great down the road. The engine was rebuilt about 50,000 miles ago, but was taken out a couple of months ago and freshen up with a comp cams 270 cam and lifter kit and painted black with old school holley valve covers along with new headers along with a new gas tank. This car has no previous rust repair, right quarter has previous body filler but it is very solid. The car was just driven on a 300 mile round trip to a show without any issues. The car is driven 3 to 4 times a week about 100 miles each trip. This is quiet nice driving hot rod! The paint is about 15 years old with a fauxtina job recently. All the glass is original. All windows roll up and down without any issues. The interior is tan and brown, has a new brown headliner, lighter power outlet works along with the dome light. GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Retro Wrong: MotorWeek shares first unaired pilot episode

We all have to get our start somewhere though, and for the latest entry in the Retro Review series, the show is releasing its unaired pilot for the first time. Even today, the program isn't necessarily the most exciting thing on TV, but the modern incarnation looks like Top Gear compared to this original, very monotone attempt. The cars on display are more interesting from a historical aspect than actually being behind the wheel. MotorWeek puts the Chevrolet Citation and Ford Fairmont head to head. If you want to see progress in the auto industry, look here. The Fairmont manages a rousing 85 horsepower from a 3.3-liter inline six, and the Citation does only a little better with a 115-hp, 2.8-liter V6. The other highlight comes at the end when John Davis talks about the cars of the future. These include the upcoming introduction of the Ford Escort in the US and the mention of a possible gasoline-electric hybrid from General Motors. Given this pilot, it's amazing MotorWeek ever got the green light. However, if you're a fan of auto history, seeing the news from the past is always fascinating.
