UP FOR AUCTION IS AN ALL ORIGINAL 1959 BEL AIR 2D. CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW HERE IN CASPER WYOMING IN 1959 AND HAS BEEN SITTING IN A BARN SINCE 1978. CAR HAS 36,978 ORIGINAL MILES. THERE HAS BEEN SOME NON PROFESSIONAL REPAIR DONE ON THE PASS SIDE REAR QUARTER AT SOME TIME IN IT'S LIFE. THE BARN WHERE THE CAR WAS STORED HAD A LEAKY ROOF AND HAD BEEN LEAKING ON THE REAR OF THE CAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND STARTED TO RUST THE BACK HALF OF THE CAR FROM THE INSIDE OUT. (PLEASE LOOK CLOSE AT THE PICS) ALL THE RUST IS EASILY REPAIRABLE.

THIS WAS A 1 OWNER CAR WHEN I PURCHASED IT. CAR STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL WINDSHIELD WITH ONE SMALL CHIP. CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT WITH NO SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE. ALL THAT WAS REPLACED TO GET IT RUNNING AND DRIVING WAS FUEL PUMP, FUEL SENDING UNIT, SPARK PLUGS, CAP AND ROTOR, CARB REBUILD KIT, MASTER CYLINDER REBUILD, AND FRESH FLUIDS. REAR END IS A HARD TO FIND 4.11 POSI. EVERYTHING ON THIS CAR WORKS EXCEPT FOR THE OVERDRIVE. IT WILL NEED A NEW CABLE.

THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT CUSTOM HOT ROD OR JUST BUY IT AND DRIVE IT AND ENJOY THE PATINA.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE EMAIL FOR MORE PICS OR CALL ROB AT 303-718-7463. IF YOU CALL BEFORE 5PM I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ANSWER YOUR CALL. THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

2022 Genesis GV70, raging at VW ID.4 tech and thoughts on a new Lexus LFA | Autoblog Podcast #696

Fri, Sep 17 2021

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor James Riswick. This week, they talk about driving the Genesis GV70, VW ID.4 and VW Taos. They talk about ways Chevy could "fix" the Camaro. James ranked all the James Bond films based solely on their starring cars. Next, they reach in the mailbag and discuss the question, "Do you think Lexus will make a successor to the LFA and, if so, what do you guys think it would be like?" After ruminating on that query, they dip into the mailbag a second time to recommend a sporty crossover to a listener in this week's Spend My Money segment. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com.
