1957 Chevy Chevrolet 210 4 Door Post Project Car Almost Complete
Up for sale is my 1957 Chevy Chevrolet 210. Been working on this car for a number of years, and finally decided it's time to move on.
I have too many other hobbies and projects, so my loss is your gain.
I'll try to be as detailed as possible, but I'm sure I'll forget something,
Essentially the car doesn't need much to be completed. Paint, some miscellaneous parts and re-assembly.
Most of the hard work has been done for you.
Recently the car had sat for over a year while I was busy working on projects around my house, and I had to replace the starter, battery and fuel pump.
(I drained the tank, and started with fresh fuel.)
ALL ARE NEW, and the car starts but it does idle a little rough. Could use a carb cleaning / rebuild.
I'm going to outline the details of the car below, hopefully this will help answer as many questions as possible.
Body:
The body has no major rust, with the exception of the front fenders in front of the doors. A common place to rust.
The only significant amount of bondo on the car is in the afore mentioned lower front fenders in front of the doors.
The floor and trunk pans have been replaced and are solid.
The car is primed with epoxy primer underneath a layer of 2K primer, with the exception of the top.
It needs some basic body work, and blocking to be ready for paint.
All glass is driver quality. (Brand new still in the box front windshield.)
Suspension:
The car has a 4" drop. Spindles, Springs, and blocks in the rear.
All of the front end parts are new, it was rebuilt and aligned.
The car has a power brake conversion from Matt's Bowties, front disc and rear drums.
Tires are in OK shape. They are large whitewalls. I would say two of four are decent.
Engine:
The engine is a 265 with an Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 200CFM carb.
The generator was replaced with a standard alternator and conversion bracket from Classic Chevy.
The fuel pump is NEW.
The starter is NEW.
The radiator is a 4 row from Classic Chevy, and will support a 350 if you convert.
The motor has less than 3000 miles since rebuild.
I also still have the original intake & carb, if you are looking for an "original" car.
Driveline:
The transmission is a brand new 700R. This transmission will also bolt up to a 350.
It has been converted from 3 on the tree (used to have an inline 6, I no longer have that engine) to Automatic.
B&M Shifter on the floor.
Parts:
Brand new in the box front windshield.
Brand new in the box door sill plates.
Brand new in the box NOS Seat Covers (Navy Blue)
Visors have been recovered in Navy Blue.
Navy Blue Vinyl, about 6 yards to finish interior panels, etc.
Stainless Trim, driver quality, most pieces can be reused, some will need to be replaced.
Door Panels (in bad shape), needs new but I have the vinyl to cover them.
Front Bumper, hood bar, and grille bar. All driver quality.
Rear Bumper is like new, driver quality tail sections.
Blue dot brake lenses, NEW.
Billet review mirror w/flames.
Billet round peep mirrors w/flames.
Rear Fender Skirts
Brand new windshield clips, hardware.
Brand new windshield rubber.
Rear ORIGINAL back glass.
Side window glass.
All door handles, inner and outer.
Finned Original Chevy 265 Valve covers.
Brand new CHROME oil breather caps.
DISCLAIMERS:
I know I'm most likely forgetting a lot of extra parts. Most of what I have for the smaller items are new as far as I recall.
The car really doesn't need much to finish. What is missing or not of good quality can be found at most swap meets or bought through Classic Chevy.
The car is located EAST of Orlando, FL with a CLEAN Florida title IN HAND.
The car is sold as is / where is.
The buyer is responsible for pickup / and / or delivery. I will not deliver.
Absolutely NO TRADES will be considered. I have enough hobbies / projects already.
The car is for sale locally as well, and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
Upon sale, a $1000.00 NON-REFUNDABLE PayPal deposit is required.
Good luck and happy bidding!!!

Coronavirus shakes up America's truck market: GM outselling Ford and Ram
Thu, Apr 2 2020FCA, Ford and General Motors joined the rest of the U.S. auto industry in taking heavy volume hits due to coronavirus-related shortages of both cars and customers. The saying goes that a rising tide lifts all boats; it stands to reason, then, that a falling one would have the opposite effect. However, as we learned Thursday, the automotive market can behave in unpredictable ways. While the F-Series remained the best-selling nameplate in Q1, GM's full-size trucks are now outselling Ford's again for the first time in years, and with this upward thrust from the General, FCA's Ram was unceremoniously booted out of a hard-earned second place. While late-March sales declines hit just about every major automaker in one way or another, the model-by-model results weren't nearly so uniform. And because the market tends to be a zero-sum game, for every winner, there generally has to be a loser. In this case, that winner was GM, and its rise had to come at the expense of another automaker, in this case, Ford. F-Series sales dropped 13.1 percent in the first quarter of 2020, while sales of GM's full-sized Silverado and Sierra surged nearly 28% in the same period. FCA's Ram lineup managed a steady-as-she-goes 7% increase. All-in, GM finished the quarter with 197,743 full-size trucks sold to Ford's 186,562. Here's the full breakdown: Ford F-Series: 186,562 Chevrolet Silverado*: 144,734 Ram P/U: 128,805 GMC Sierra: 53,009 *includes 1,036 Medium Duty sales Things are a but murkier in the midsize segment, where the Chevy Colorado slipped 36% to just 21,430 units sold — just a few hundred better than the slow-selling Ford Ranger's Q1 numbers. The GMC Canyon experienced an almost identical slide, finishing the quarter with just 4,483 units sold. For perspective, Jeep sold more than 15,000 Gladiators and Toyota's midsize Tacoma slipped less than 8%, finishing the quarter with nearly 54,000 sales. We suspect this discrepancy in full- and mid-size truck sales comes from shifting incentives. Ford, GM and FCA would like to keep selling bigger trucks because there's far more profit margin built into their list prices. Even with tens of thousands of dollars in manufacturer money on the hood, big trucks still make money. Since these automakers report quarterly, we won't get another good look at these numbers until July, but if you thought that 2019 represented the new normal for U.S. auto sales, well, think again.
GM to cut production at 5 plants in North America, kill several models
Mon, Nov 26 2018DETROIT/WASHINGTON — General Motors Co said on Monday it will cut production of slow-selling models and slash its North American workforce in the face of a stagnant market for traditional gas-powered sedans, shifting more investment to electric and autonomous vehicles. The announcement is the biggest restructuring in North America for the U.S. No. 1 carmaker since its bankruptcy a decade ago. GM said it will take pre-tax charges of $3 billion to $3.8 billion to pay for the cutbacks, but expects the actions to improve annual free cash flow by $6 billion by the end of 2020. GM plans to halt production next year at three assembly plants: Lordstown, Ohio, Hamtramck, Michigan, and Oshawa, Ontario. The company also plans to stop building several models now assembled at those plants, including the Chevrolet Cruze, the Cadillac CT6 and the Buick LaCrosse, the sources said. Sources said the Chevrolet Volt, Impala and Cadillac XTS would also be discontinued. Signs of the demise of six passenger-car models have been swirling since July. Plants in Baltimore, Maryland, and Warren, Michigan, that assemble powertrain components have no products assigned to them after 2019 and thus are at risk of closure, the company said. It will also close two factories outside North America, but did not identify those plants. The AP reported that 14,700 jobs would be affected. Some 8,100 of those would be white-collar jobs reduced through buyouts or layoffs. The No. 1 U.S. automaker signaled the latest belt-tightening in late October when it offered buyouts to 50,000 salaried employees in North America. The company also said it will cut executive ranks by 25 per cent to "streamline decision making." Some 6,000 factory workers could lose their jobs or be transferred to other plants. Its shares were last up 6.2 percent at $38.16. Tariff 'headwinds' and cost-cutting GM Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra told reporters on Monday the company can reduce annual capital spending by $1.5 billion and increase investment in electric and autonomous vehicles and connected vehicle technology because it has largely completed investing in new generations of trucks and sport utility vehicles. Some 75 percent of its global sales will come from just five vehicle architectures by early in the 2020s. It plans to reduce annual capital spending to $7 billion by 2020 from an average of $8.5 billion a year during the 2017-2019 period.
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head
Fri, Jan 30 2015"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:
