This car was a radio station prize shown at the National Western Stock Show in 2005. 16 Kicks radio partnered with wheels of time classic car restoration, napa auto parts and others to do a full frame off restoration of the car and subsequently give the car away as a prize at western welcome week in Littleton Colorado later that spring. The car has less then a 1000 miles since restoration and has always been stored indoors. The car was professionally done including powder coating the frame and sand blasting the body prior to rebuilding with all new parts. A newly rebuilt 350 V-8 and 350 Automatic trans were installed along with new everything else. Front disc brakes, new interior and a recently added dakota digital dash along with custom look door glass completes a magnificient package. Car does have a few minor blemishes and minor details to address to complete to a 100% show car but is very close. Car is sold as is where is and buyer will be responsible for  transportation and all other costs and needs at time of purchase. Price is cash with no trades wanted, full irrefutable good payment is required prior to transfer of car or ownership. Include name, phone and email in all correspondence. I will answer all questions to the best of my ability but car is offered without warranty of any kind and the buyer is responsible to do own inspections and to satisfy any questions prior to purchase. Sale will be final. Original Mileage on the car is unknown.

Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
