Auction is for a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air ready for restoration! Car has been updated with: Non-Original Chassis Modified With Fatman front suspension, tubular control arms, and rack & pinion! Chassis also has custom bracing & modifications done by previous owner Leaf Springs Relocated into chassis for better wheel clearance! Original floor boards are in great condition & ready to go! This car will make a great option for anyone looking to do a nice 55 chevy! Body removed when new chassis was installed, but I personally would have the chassis powder coated for pretty finish. Because the car has been modified & doesn't have the original chassis I don't know for sure if it was originally a convertible or not. The previous owner says it is, but I'm not sure either way. The title does say convertible, but the vin # doesn't have any way of confirming if any 55 is a vert or not. Because the chassis is not the original chassis to the car I'm not really sure. I've been told the car has the right trunk for a convertible & the correct body mounting locations for a true convertible. I had planned on building it with a roadster shop chassis so I didn't care what kind of chassis it was. Plans have changed & I'm selling all of my projects... I'm not looking to get stupid money for this car, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if I get a reasonable offer. I am including pics of most of the parts we have for it. There's a few in storage not shown here, but you get the idea.. All the trim will need to be restored & the convertible top needs to be sand blasted & bolted all the way down. It moves somewhat freely, but you can tell it needs a good sand blasting to get the crap out of the joints. |

Retro Wrong: MotorWeek shares first unaired pilot episode
Fri, Apr 17 2015MotorWeek is an automotive institution in the United States. We all have to get our start somewhere though, and for the latest entry in the Retro Review series, the show is releasing its unaired pilot for the first time. Even today, the program isn't necessarily the most exciting thing on TV, but the modern incarnation looks like Top Gear compared to this original, very monotone attempt. The cars on display are more interesting from a historical aspect than actually being behind the wheel. MotorWeek puts the Chevrolet Citation and Ford Fairmont head to head. If you want to see progress in the auto industry, look here. The Fairmont manages a rousing 85 horsepower from a 3.3-liter inline six, and the Citation does only a little better with a 115-hp, 2.8-liter V6. The other highlight comes at the end when John Davis talks about the cars of the future. These include the upcoming introduction of the Ford Escort in the US and the mention of a possible gasoline-electric hybrid from General Motors. Given this pilot, it's amazing MotorWeek ever got the green light. However, if you're a fan of auto history, seeing the news from the past is always fascinating. Chevy Silverado WT gets its own murdered-out trim pack
Fri, Feb 20 2015Media days for the 2015 Chicago Auto Show ended last week, but that hasn't stopped Chevrolet from adding just one more thing. The Bowtie brand showed off three new trim packages for its trucks in the Windy City – the Colorado GearOn and the Silverado Midnight and Custom – but protests from consumers over the price of these equipment packs has led the company to release a new trim group for its most affordable fullsizer, the Silverado WT. The $1,595 Black Out pack will be available on both the regular- and double-cab Silverado WT and offers a few simple, stylistic upgrades. Five-spoke, 20-inch black wheels are the headlining item, although Chevy will also include "deep tinted glass" and black bowtie badges both fore and aft. Available only in black (the company even paraphrases old Mr. Ford in its press release), the new package adds just enough to class up the otherwise dreary looking Work Truck. Chevy has only released one image for the time being, available up top. Dealers, meanwhile, are currently taking orders. Check below for the brief press release. Chevrolet Silverado Work Trucks Get Blacked Out DETROIT – Chevrolet is adding a $1,595 Black Out package for regular- and double-cab 2015 Silverado 1500 WT models. It includes 20" black painted aluminum wheels, P275/55R20 all-season blackwall tires, deep tinted glass and black bowties. Prices start at $28,895. The package is available for order now, and customers can have any color they want, as long as it is black. Mon, Feb 2 2015Chevrolet took an early lead for the 2015 Super Bowl advertising crown with its spot for the all-new, 4G LTE-capable Colorado pickup in a spot that simulated a problem with your TV. The stark, simple ad then states that if you're lucky enough to have an Internet-capable vehicle, like the new Colorado, you'd at least be able to stream the game.
