1999 Chevy Astro Van * Awd * Chevrolet * on 2040-cars
Topeka, Kansas, United States
This is a 1999 AWD Chevy Astro van. I love this thing, but needed something just a little bit smaller. It has been my daily driver and has been well maintained. It has in excess of 160,000 miles but the engine runs strong and doesn't burn oil. It is AWD and with the winter we had in the midwest, this thing was like a Sherman Tank in the snow. It has a tow package and pulls my boat with ease.
The Good I've put some money into this vehicle in the last year. New items include; * Battery * Alternator * Transmission has been serviced * New Muffler * New Catalytic Converter * 2 New Rear Tires * New Brakes and Rotors * New Master Cylinder * New Transfer Case Motor * New Thermostat * New Water Pump The Bad The only things I am aware of that need attention are; * Air Conditioning does not blow cold. * There is an anti-lock brake speed sensor that needs replaced. The brakes will, on occasion, kick into the anti-lock mode during normal braking conditions. The Ugly This van has 160,000 miles and is 15 years old. The exterior and interior are in relatively good condition, but there are dings, scrapes and scratches consistent with a vehicle of this age or mileage. Please review the pictures closely for condition. All in all, it has been a workhorse and I believe that there are still plenty of good miles left on this van. The motor runs strong, the transmission and AWD work great. If you would like any additional pictures of anything, please let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate you in a timely manner. The vehicle is located in Topeka, KS and you are welcome to arrange a test drive at any time. I may consider delivery within a 250 mile radius of Topeka for a nominal charge, but please contact me to make any arrangements before bidding. A low starting bid with no reserve! This vehicle is listed for sale locally and this listing may end without notice due to a local sale. I'm still occasionally driving this vehicle so the actual odometer reading may be slightly higher than when it was listed. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!! |

Chevrolet Silverado reportedly getting the GMC Sierra's MultiPro tailgate
Mon, Aug 17 2020GMC reinvented the pickup tailgate when it added a six-way option named MultiPro to the current-generation Sierra it introduced in 2019. It kept this clever feature to itself as a way to differentiate the Sierra from the Chevrolet Silverado, but a recent report claims it will begin sharing it in the not-too-distant future. Enthusiast website GM Authority learned from anonymous sources familiar with Chevrolet's product plans that the Silverado will soon receive its own version of the MultiPro tailgate. It will be called either MultiFlex or Multi-Flex, a name Chevrolet has already trademarked, and it was initially scheduled to make its debut for the 2021 model year. Its arrival might be delayed until the 2022 model year due to the coronavirus pandemic, however. Chevrolet's Silverado and GMC's Sierra are nearly identical under the sheet metal, so adding the latter's six-way tailgate to the former will be a relatively straightforward and cost-effective process. Interestingly, GM Authority wrote engineers could add a seventh function to the tailgate, though it didn't reveal what they have in store. It's also not sure whether both trucks will get the new feature, or if it will exclusively be offered on the Chevrolet. 2022 will bring major updates to the Silverado and the Sierra, potentially including — as we've previously reported — an independent rear suspension. Interior upgrades will allegedly be part of the mid-cycle changes, too, but we still don't know if the Silverado will receive the tough carbon fiber cargo box available in the Sierra. In the meantime, motorists in the market for a Sierra will temporarily have fewer options to choose from. GMC has asked its dealers to stop taking orders for the regular- and double-cab variants of the truck, according to a separate report from GM Authority. Putting the slower-selling regular- and double-cab trucks on hiatus will allow dealers to build up their inventory of crew-cabs, which sell far better and are in relatively short supply. These restrictions will remain in effect until the 2021 model year, which starts on September 14 for double- and crew-cab models and on September 21 for regular-cab trucks. All three body styles will be available in 2021. Related Video:
Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV Rally Car To Compete, Barra bullish on Chevy Volt
Fri, Oct 31 2014The Toyota FCV will compete in the last stage of the 2014 Japanese Rally Championship. The sport-tuned hydrogen-powered car will tackle the 177-mile Shinshiro Rally on November 1 and 2, emitting no greenhouse gases in the process. The rally course will help prove the safety of the vehicle before it goes on sale in Japan in the next several months. The Toyota FCV, rumored to be called "Mirai" in Japan, will begin sales there before April, according to Toyota, and in the summer in the US and Europe. Read more in the press release below. Carsharing is becoming more popular, and more visible, throughout the world, including the US. According to WardsAuto columnist John McElroy, 18 percent of US drivers have used some sort of carsharing service. Additionally, he says 60 percent of Americans are familiar with Zipcar and Uber. Mercedes' Harald Kroeger says promotions like free parking for carshares in Stuttgart are encouraging growth for Daimler's carsharing service, Car2go. Read more at WardsAuto. Ethanol is being help up by rail transport, according to ethanol producer Green Plains. More and more stations are carrying E15 blend gasoline, but grain producers have complained that crude oil is given higher priority by the rail lines shipping it, which rail companies deny. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway say they are stepping up service to make sure that ethanol can be shipped reliably to customers. Read more at Omaha World-Herald. General Motors "has placed a significant bet [on] the electrification of the automobile," says CEO Mary Barra. In a speech to the Detroit Economic Club this week, she spoke about the Chevrolet Volt, and its importance to GM's future. While Barra admits the Volt's success has been "not everything we wanted," it has provided experience, and shows that EVs have "an important role in the future of GM." The new Volt is more refined, stores more energy, has longer range, uses less fuel and is a big investment for Michigan. She announced that the new Volt's electric drive system will be built in Warren, and that all of its major components will be made in Michigan. "Silicon Valley doesn't have a corner on the market for innovation, creativity and drive," says Barra. "These qualities exist here – in this region – as well."
