Up for sale is a gorgeous 2005 Cadillac XLR Black with super nice black interior.  It has navigation touch screen radio, BOSE surround sound system which sounds amazing, heads up display, all power seats, active suspension, power open and close trunk, power convertible top that folds in the trunk, dark wood grain, factory xenon headlights, slightly tinted windows,  it has everything! The paint is super slick as you can see in the pictures, no flaws! This car is a super nice driver, rides like a dream and has plenty of power! This is Cadillac's Corvette! Super smooth running 4.6L V8 engine with super low miles! This car has been very well taken care of and you can tell. This car has just shy of 58k miles but will go up because it is being drove everyday. This beauty is a head turner because this is not a everyday car you see sitting on every corner, this is high class riding. Everywhere I go I get compliments and how gorgeous this car really is. The oil has just been recently changed and the tires have around 70% Pirelli's, with 19 inch OEM XLR-V rims on it, no replicas. This car does have a Texas salvage title do to a minor accident while it was in Texas. We replaced all the parts with GM OEM parts which includes the left front fender, left door, left quarter panel, and the taillight, that's it, absolutely no frame, no wheelhouse damage, no air bags deployed, or no suspension. Just because it has a salvage title does mean its been flipped 7 times and all 4 wheels tore off of it. These insurance companies will salvage anything out, and if it's fixed right like this one is it should not stop the right buyer from buying this car. Like I said this car is immaculate in every way possible. The title does say non actual miles due to a reason according to autocheck when it had 37k miles on it someone put 377k miles instead of 37k in the database. 57k miles is the actual and original miles on this car, and I can provide proof of that, and after that it reflects the miles after that, a common human error. Like I said car is 100% and I would drive this car across the country and back with no worry in the world. This XLR is for sale locally and I have the right to end the auction at any time. Check out my other listings for sale. Thanks for looking at my post and happy bidding!!

Cadillac ATS was almost front-wheel drive

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

"We were going to do a front-wheel drive Cadillac compact off of Delta because it was going to be less expensive," Doug Parks, General Motors' vice president of global product programs, told the Automotive News during the Detroit Auto Show in January of this year. That sentence, referring to early ATS discussions more than five years ago - a period when the automaker, and the industry, was struggling - reveals that Cadillac's highly acclaimed rear-wheel drive compact sedan almost never happened.
Parks revealed that that automaker actually built a 2.0-liter test mule, on GM's Delta platform (shared with the Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Verano) and tested it in Europe. While the prototype was "pretty darn good," according to Parks, the team realized that in order to compete against Mercedes-Benz and BMW it would have to invest in a new rear-wheel drive platform.
The resulting all-new Alpha platform would eventually underpin the Cadillac ATS, and many would argue that its balanced rear-wheel drive chassis is its single most important attribute. Thankfully, the Alpha's goodness won't stop with the ATS. The upcoming 2014 Cadillac CTS and the future Camaro will also share its architecture, meaning the Cimarron will remain a distant memory.

Steve Carlisle replaces Johan de Nysschen as head of Cadillac

Wed, Apr 18 2018

Johan de Nysschen, a longtime automotive industry executive, is out the door at Cadillac after four years at the helm of GM's flagship luxury brand. Steve Carlisle will replace de Nysschen as General Motors senior vice president and president, Cadillac. Carlisle previously served as president and managing director of GM Canada. Travis Hester will replace Carlisle in that role, starting immediately. "We appreciate Johan's efforts over the last four years in setting a stronger foundation for Cadillac," said General Motors President Dan Ammann. That strong foundation is mostly seen overseas. Cadillac has seen record sales in China under de Nysschen's watch, but has continued to flounder in its home market of the United States with market share significantly lower than rival brands like Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz. Growth in the U.S. market is mostly happening with crossovers and SUVs, and Cadillac has been trailing its German and Japanese rivals on that front. The brand-new XT4 is seen as a big potential sales booster for the automaker, but its late arrival has already hurt the brand's sales figures here in America. "Looking forward, the world is changing rapidly, and, beginning with the launch of the new XT4, it is paramount that we capitalize immediately on the opportunities that arise from this rate of change," said Ammann. "This move will further accelerate our efforts in that regard." Carlisle will report directly to Ammann in his role as the head of the Cadillac brand. Related Video:

Combative de Nysschen defends Cadillac move, naming change

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Johan de Nysschen isn't afraid of taking quick, decisive actions, even if they are criticized. Since taking the wheel at Cadillac, he instigated moving the luxury division's base of operations to Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood and introduced a new naming scheme for the future of the brand, like he did at Infiniti. The polarizing boss recently explained his feelings about the future of Cadillac in more depth on his Facebook page, but unfortunately only his friends could read it. Thankfully, Daily Kanban posted much of the strongly worded missive for the whole world to see.
Much of the message examines the decision to move some employees to New York. De Nysschen claims that it's all about giving Cadillac distance from Detroit to reshape itself. It allows for, "No distractions. No side shows. No cross-brand corporate considerations. No homogenized lowest common denominator approach. Just pure, unadulterated, CLASS."
