You are viewing my beautiful 2004 Cadillac XLR roadster. If you're looking at this you already know how awesome and rare these cars are. Basically this is a re-bodied Corvette. I am a private collector who enjoys a variety of cars, currently owning 8 exotics and classic Corvette's.  I've been selling a few off here and there (had 15 just two months ago) and now it's time for my XLR to find a new home. My wife and I have decided to thin down my collection and focus on other things in life, mainly becoming foster parents.  This was a one owner car that I bought earlier this year, and has been my primary daily driver since I bought it. I am only selling it because I have a new BMW 6 series convertible and don't really need both (the BMW has a back seat and is more "practical" for my kids, and for the other reason just mentioned).  The car is a stunning looker, like a stealth fighter, and has the power to back up its sinister looks. Everywhere I go people point and stare. I get compliments all the time. The car has ALWAYS been garaged and it shows. The original paint is close to perfect. The car was just washed before these pics were taken and I just noticed there are a few water drops present on the top of the back bumper as can be seen in a few of the pics (these are not flaws). Of course with the mileage there are a few minor stone chips and a little scuff on the front bumper, but that's about it (can be repainted for about $300, but I chose to leave it factory original).  The rest of car is stunning. The paint condition is gorgeous, and the dark charcoal grey is a rarer color you don't see very often.  It's truly beautiful. The car has never been in any kind of accident and all paintwork is factory original. The tires are in great shape (see pic of tread). The brakes are great.  The car drives and handles fantastic. The power folding hard top is a pure engineering work of art, and I love watching it fold in it's origami like fashion every time I operate it. The interior of the car is very clean and quite nice. The car has never been smoked in. The drivers seat bottom has some light cracking in the perforated center panel (see in pics) that can easily and inexpensively be replaced if so desired for about $200. That would make the interior look almost new. It isn't horrible and it never bothered me enough to fix.  The car has every option imaginable, and one of the coolest featured is the Adaptive Cruise Control, which uses radar to keep a set distance between you and cars in front of you. It will slow the car down on its own if someone gets in front of you and once cleared, will take you back up to your original set speed...it will even bring the car to a complete stop if necessary! Truly a great and handy option!  Another nice option is the Heads Up Display, reflecting your speed, cruise control info, stereo info, etc all on the windshield in front of you so you don't have to look down.  I love it!  Another handy item is the Back Up Warning Indicators, letting you know if you're too close to something behind you as you put the car in reverse.  The BOSE stereo with in-dash multi-disc CD changer in this car is absolutely one of the best I've ever heard!  With the top up or down, it is crystal clear.  Factory Navigation works perfectly, and as seen in one of the pics, ALL manuals from Cadillac come with the car on how to operate the various systems, as well as both remotes & valet key. The car has the keyless start feature where you simply need to have the key in your pocket to unlock the doors by touching the concealed button in the door handle, and a keyless push-button start as well.  Pretty cool.  Everything on the car works as it should.  The dual zone A/C is ice cold! The car has highway mileage as it was executive owned and traveled a good distance daily for his corporate affairs.  Don't let the miles fool you. It has always been dealer maintained with a "money is no object" mentality. You would think the car has a 1/4 of the miles by the way it runs and drives. In the past few months I have replaced the throttle pedal assembly, throttle body and wiring harness, cam position sensor and had routine maintenance done on it at the dealership. She is good to go. I recently had a full synthetic oil change as well.  The car is a blast to drive and own, and I will truly miss it! The airbag light is on, due to a wire being crimped under the drivers seat. Cadillac dealer told me this is an easy fix and should be about $300 to fix. Other than that all systems are good to go. So, to wrap things up this is a quality, super rare car that will give you years and many miles of enjoyment. It's stunning to look at, fun to drive, and you'll never pull up beside another one at the red light. The car has always been dealer maintained.  Again, I am a private collector so all sales are final, and no warranties are expressed or implied. Feel free to ask any questions through the eBay system. This is a no reserve auction, so the last bid wins this car! Bid high and bid often!  The car is advertised locally so the auction may end at any time. Feel free to make me an offer. Clean and clear title in my possession.

*** PLEASE do not bid if you do not intend on completing the transaction. I had 3 bad experiences in the past month on here where people bid, won, and then I never heard from them again or after waiting for payment for over a week they all of the sudden were "too busy to come" or "out of the country on business". Please! By then, I lost the other high bidders because they found something else and I was back to square one.  So because of this, I now require a $500 non refundable deposit to be paid immediately following the end of the auction. You will be sent an invoice through Paypal. I also REQUIRE full payment within 3, YES 3, business days after the auction ends, preferably bank wire.  This means you will need to have the funds available, not try to get a loan after winning.  So, to be clear... the auction ends on a Saturday. You MUST pay me for the car in full NO LATER than the following Wednesday. PERIOD. The car doesn't need to be picked up or shipped by then, just paid for.  Absolutely NO exceptions. You are responsible for shipping or picking it up. If you cannot or do not agree with my terms, or even THINK this won't work for you...do us both a favor and DO NOT BID.  Have your funds clear and available PRIOR to bidding. Make sure your wife, mother, boss, priest, etc gives you the okay to buy this BEFORE you bid.  If you have less than 10 feedback, you MUST contact me PRIOR to bidding or your bid will be cancelled. I'm sorry for my attitude but I'm tired of the set-backs, and having to re-list and pay fees over and over for nothing. The winner of this car will love it, and I thank you for your time.

2017 Cadillac CTS-V Drivers' Notes | V is for velocity

Fri, Sep 29 2017

The 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is as close to a four-door Corvette Z06 as you're ever likely to get. Underneath the carbon-fiber hood rests one hell of an engine, a 640-horsepower supercharged V8. It's only slightly less powerful than what you'll find in the Corvette. Thanks to GM's chassis wizards, the car's handling is an equal match for the powerful engine. This particular car packs in a number of options, including Recaro seats and the performance data recorder that allows owners to measure lap times and record video. The most expensive option is the $6,950 Carbon Black Package. This nets you a carbon fiber hood vent, front splitter, spoiler and rear diffuser. This car isn't cheap, but it does undercut the less powerful Audi RS7 and Mercedes-AMG E63 S. Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale: This is a seriously fun, if also flawed, car. And the biggest contributor to the fun is the big lump of V8 under the hood. The supercharged 6.2-liter makes 640 horsepower, but Cadillac could've left the number off and just called it "effortless." The gentlest pressure on the gas pedal will result in you picking up an extra 10 mph without ever noticing. And when you stomp on it, you get this huge and immediate surge of acceleration. It's truly giggle-inducing. Although the CTS-V is big and heavy, it handles the power well. It gives you enough info on what's happening so you feel in control, and the chassis is impressively composed. The only real weak points I can find on the CTS-V (besides the low gas mileage) are the interior controls. They are abysmal. The infotainment screen is pretty poor, with a clutter of information at the main screen, and difficult-to-find commands for getting to other menus. But worse than that are the climate and volume buttons. They're all touch-sensitive spots on the center stack. They're not very responsive, and the vibratory feedback it provides isn't noticeable while driving. It doesn't help that the feedback feels pretty inconsistent, too. For me, I think I could learn to live with the infotainment, simply because I love the way the rest of the car feels and drives. But, Cadillac, you need to get to updating this ASAP. Associate Editor Reese Counts: OK, Cadillac's infotainment system sucks. Let's get that out of the way. Touch capacitive interfaces don't work well in cars. This does have the old version of CUE, so I'm hoping the next-gen system will fix some of the interface issues. Like Joel, this wouldn't turn me off from buying the car.

Facelifted Cadillac ATS spied completely uncovered

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

The Cadillac ATS makes for a pretty svelte little coupe, and General Motors appears to know it, because multiple, completely undisguised prototype sedans have been spotted testing wearing what look like many of the forthcoming coupe's body parts.
Not only does it wear at least the outline of the brand's new, broader crest, it has the same front air dam with continuous chrome strip found on the coupe. The only real difference is that it has the somewhat taller side view mirrors from the sedan, rather than the narrower, longer ones from the coupe. Around back, the changes are harder to spot because the test car is outfitted with an unpainted lower bumper. However, it seems to lack the chrome strip that offsets the lower portion of the coupe from the sedan.
The ATS sedan is already a looker, but it is good to see Cadillac is taking a second pass using what it learned on the coupe. There's no word yet on when this revised sedan is going to hit the streets - let alone what changes will take place beneath the skin - but we're thinking it looks about right for 2015.

Cadillac's Super Cruise — look, Elon, no hands!

Fri, Aug 4 2017

Cadillac is about to start selling vehicles with an autonomous driving mode and TechCrunch got an early look at the technology in a production car. "Wait for the green light and let go," the Cadillac engineer instructed. That's it. The car was driving itself. I, the person behind the steering wheel, was no longer the driver. Cadillac's Super Cruise system was driving. The 2018 Cadillac CT6 sped along U.S. 23 under the direction of Super Cruise. Traffic was light and the weather was perfect. The system held the Cadillac sedan in lane and responded appropriately to traffic. I spent an hour on the expressway and touched the steering wheel and pedals only a few times. Super Cruise made the drive boring. I think that's the point. Here's how it works Super Cruise is available once the driver navigates the vehicle onto an expressway. When ready, a little icon is displayed by the speedometer and the driver hits a button on the steering wheel to switch it on. Once the light bar on top of the steering wheel turns green, the driver can let go. Super Cruise is driving. This steering wheel light bar is key to the operation. When green, the driver knows Super Cruise is in control. Blue means the driver interrupted the system to change lanes and red means Super Cruise needs the driver to confirm they're paying attention and not checking Twitter. When active, Super Cruise controls the steering and speed, but again, only on an expressway. This is done through onboard sensors and using GPS and mapping data. GM employed GeoDigital, a startup in GM Venture's portfolio, to map 160,000 miles of expressways in the U.S. and Canada. The car company then used Super Cruise-equipped vehicles to test each mile. This combination of onboard systems combined with map data makes the system feel polished and sophisticated. During my admittedly limited time in the vehicle, the CT6 precisely held its position in the lane and confidently handled sweeping curves at speed. There was no wiggling or squirming — from the Cadillac or myself. The car was in control, and I felt safe. Although the driving conditions were perfect for my test ride, during adverse weather, the system will work normally until one of the key systems is unable to operate.
