Henderson, Nevada, United States
|
HI I AM SELLING WHAT WAS MY DAD'S 1988 CADILLAC SEVILLE. IT RUNS GREAT, AIR IS ICE COLD, TIRES AREN'T NEW, BUT VERY NICE. MY DAD PASSED AWAY IN 2010, & HE GAVE ME THE CAR BEFORE HE DIED. I'VE BEEN IN CARS ALL MY LIFE. MY WIFE & I CURRENTLY LIVE IN WISCONSIN. FOUR YEARS AGO, I HAD THE CAR DRIVEN OUT TO OUR HOUSE IN HENDERSON, NEVADA SO WE WOULD HAVE A CAR TO USE WHEN WE WOULD FLY OUT THERE. BEFORE WE GO ANY FARTHER, I HAVE A $6500 APPRAISAL ON THE CAR, & MY RESERVE IS $2500. I HAVE TO SELL THE CAR. WE ARE PLANNING TO MOVE TO NEVADA, & I AM HAVING 2 OF MY NEWER CARS DRIVEN OUT THERE. I'D LIKE TO KEEP THIS ONE, BUT I DO NOT HAVE ROOM FOR IT. THAT IS WHY I'M SELLING IT. AS YOU CAN SEE, I'VE BEEN IN CARS ALL MY LIFE. I AM NOW 66. THIS WOULD BE A NICE CLASSIC TO KEEP. SHE IS A LOOKER. THIS IS A CAR, YOU'LL BE PROUD TO DRIVE. I HAVE A 4 CAR GARAGE HERE IN WI, IF I HAD IT IN NEVADA, THIS WOULD BE A KEEPER. I'VE ONLY DRIVEN THE CAR MAYBE 8 DAY'S A YEAR, OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY, FROM SITTING, THE CAR HAS DEVELOPED SOME LIFTER NOISE. IT RUNS GREAT, THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS. I HAD A NEW ALTERNATOR PUT ON $350. I HAD NEW HYDRAULIC BOOST PUT ON $1300. I HAD A BRAND NEW WINSHIELD PUT IN BECAUSE OF A CRACK. I FOUND 4 NOS WHEEL CENTERS AT A DEALERSHIP FOR $105 EACH. THE CONTINENAL KIT WAS $1000. THE CAR HAS THE GOLD PACKAGE, (GOLD GRILL & EMBLEMS). IF YOU BUY THIS CAR, YOU WILL HAVE TO PICK IT UP, OR HAVE IT PICKED UP AT MY HOME IN HENDERSON, NEVADA BETWEEN JUNE 24TH & JULY 7TH. I AM FLYING OUT THERE JUNE 23RD, & WILL ASSIST WITH THE PICK UP FOR THE BUYER. THIS IS A GOOD DEAL, & A NICE CAR FOR SOMEONE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU CAN GET THE LIFTER NOISE FIXED. THE ONLY OTHER THING I WILL MENTION IS THIS CAR HAS ROUGHLY 67,000 MILES ON IT. FROM WHAT I COULD LEARN, 1 OF THE MILEAGE MODULES NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS AN ERROR MESSAGE. CADILLACS NEVER LOSE THE MILEAGE. AS SOON AS IT'S FIXED, THE EXACT MILEAGE WILL COME BACK. THIS ERROR MESSAGE CAME ON AT 64,000, RIGHT WHEN I GOT THE CAR. I AM INCLUDING A PICTURE OF THE TITLE SHOWING ACTUAL MILEAGE. I'VE NEVER BOTHERED TO TAKE THE TIME TO FIX IT. I HAD NO PLANS TO SELL THE CAR, SO IT WAS NO BIG DEAL TO ME. WHEN I GOT THE CAR, THERE WERE 64,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAD THE CAR DRIVEN TO HENDERSON, NV, WHICH IS 1800 MILES, & I DON'T BELIEVE I'VE PUT ON 1000 MILES IN THE LAST 4 YEARS. WE DROVE IT BACK & FORTH TO THE STRIP, WHICH IS 9 MILES FROM OUR HOUSE. THERE COULD BE 66,000+ MILES ON IT. THERE ARE A FEW BEAUTY MARKS, BUT AS THE SONG SAY'S, "TOO FEW TO MENTION". THE INTERIOR IS USED, BUT STILL NICE. MY DAD NEVER DROVE THIS CAR IN THE WINTER. FROM 1996 TO 2009 WHEN I GOT IT, HE PUT 14,000 MILES ON IT. IT'S A NICE CAR, NOT PERFECT, BUT PRETTY NICE. I WILL ACCEPT PAYPAL ON THIS DEAL. IF YOU PAY BY CASHIERS CHECK, CHECK MUST CLEAR BEFORE CAR IS PICKED UP. THESE DAY'S IT TAKES 7-10 DAY'S FOR A CASHIERS CHECK TO CLEAR THE BANK. TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THIS CAR. IT'S WORTH TWICE WHAT I'M ASKING. I HAVE TO SELL. I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE LETTERS OFF THE BACK, BUT I'LL LEAVE THAT UP TO THE BUYER. THIS IS A NICE CLASSIC CADILLAC. IT TURNS HEADS. WE GET A LOT OF THUMBS UP AS WE DRIVE. TAKE A GOOD LOOK. MY NAME IS TOM. YOU CAN CALL ANYTIME AT 920 923-5291. I'LL ANSWER ANY & ALL QUESTIONS. THANKS!! GOOD LUCK!! |

NHTSA investigating nearly 750,000 GM models over non-deploying airbags
Thu, Apr 15 2021Nearly 750,000 vehicles built by Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac are the subject of a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation due to non-deploying driver-side airbags. While the investigation is ongoing, the agency believes the issue is likely due to rust particles that form on the inflator's connection terminal interface. The list of nameplates included in the investigation includes Chevrolet's Silverado, Tahoe, and Suburban, GMC's Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL, plus Cadillac's Escalade, Escalade ESV, CT4, CT5, and XT4. All of the potentially affected vehicles are 2020 or 2021 models, according to a bulletin published on the NHTSA's website. Investigators launched the probe in April 2021 after 15 consumers reported airbag-related issues, including nine who said an airbag malfunction light appeared in the instrument cluster. More alarmingly, the NHTSA is aware of six accidents that caused significant damage to the car's front end yet didn't trigger the driver's airbag. It adds that there are no fatalities linked to the issue, but there are six crashes and eight injuries reportedly blamed on it. No evidence suggests this problem is related to the millions of potentially deadly Takata inflators recalled over the past few years. General Motors is aware of the defect. It sent a technical service bulletin (TSB) to its dealers in March 2021 to address the aforementioned warning light. The note explains the issue is due to "rust particles in the connection terminal interface of the driver's airbag inflator." The company hasn't issued a safety recall yet, however. Whether it will partially depends on the NHTSA's findings. It's currently looking into the scope and the severity of the problem, and it wants to understand its implications on driver safety. Investigators will decide whether General Motors needs to recall the 749,312 cars that are part of the probe when they close their investigation. General Motors has already spent a significant amount of money replacing defective airbag-related parts in its cars. In November 2020, it was ordered by the American government to recall nearly 6 million pickup trucks and SUVs equipped with potentially dangerous Takata airbag inflators. It repeatedly argued that testing proved the inflators were safe, and it petitioned the agency four times starting in 2016 to avoid a recall, which cost an estimated $1.2 billion (about a third of its net income in 2020).
Cadillac reveals futuristic EV crossover in Detroit
Mon, Jan 14 2019Cadillac just revealed a futuristic EV crossover model at an off-site event before the Detroit Auto Show. The vehicle doesn't have a name now, but Cadillac says that and additional information will be revealed closer to the car's launch. Any sort of specifications, range and things of that matter are not available right now. Although, Cadillac mentions we can expect both two- and all-wheel drive and for it to be sold globally. What we know for sure is that this vehicle is meant to preview an actual production model at least somewhat resembling this one. As we look at the two photos, this vehicle looks a bit concept-like but probably won't need a whole lot of change to make it production-ready. When that production will start, Cadillac doesn't make any mention of either. GM said on Friday that Cadillac "will be at the vanguard of the company's move toward an all-electric future." This reveal is the first vehicle related to that goal since the statement only a couple of days prior. We contacted Cadillac in an attempt to understand a bit more about where this car stands in the concept versus production car realm, and will update when we learn more. For now, take a gander at what Cadillac says represents the future of its brand. Related video:
Beast mode on the open road: New presidential limo close to delivery
Tue, Sep 19 2017Signs of the Beast have been seen on the open roads around Milford, Mich., home of GM's Proving Grounds. The Beast, in this case, being the nickname for the next-generation presidential limousine. We've seen this car previously in spy shots while parked or driven, going back to January 2016. This is our spy photographers' latest look at the vehicle, and the first on public roads. Which may be a sign that it is almost ready for delivery. It replaces the current Beast, which has been in use since 2009. And "car" isn't exactly the right word for this rig, as it's actually a unique vehicle with Cadillac styling cues custom-built atop a medium-duty truck frame. There may possibly be more than one Beast 2.0 delivered, because two limos are sent anywhere the president goes, to provide a backup or decoy. The grille has touches of the Cadillac Escala concept car, which is heavily influencing Cadillac's evolving future look. But it's what's inside that intrigues everyone. Here's what we know, or at least has long been rumored, about the current Beast and the new Beast 2.0. 1. It has its own airplane. It and its twin follow the president around the globe aboard a C-17 Globemaster cargo plane. 2. It's heavily armored, with 5-inch-thick glass, 8-inch-thick doors that weigh as much as a commercial aircraft door, and its components include titanium, ceramics, and a bombproof plate that covers the underside. As such, the old Beast was estimated to weigh between 14,000 and 20,000 pounds. You can therefore imagine how it got its name. 3. It's equipped like the Batmobile or the Green Hornet's Chrysler Imperial Crown, with run-flat tires and night-vision gear. It can fire gas canisters out the front bumper. 4. It has a diesel engine because of its weight and size (see the gallery below for a sense of scale). And of course, diesel is less flammable in a firefight. The old Beast supposedly gets 8 mpg. 5. Its Secret Service codename is Stagecoach. 6. There's a shotgun by the driver and God-knows-what in the trunk. 7. It supposedly has a stock of blood in the president's type, along with a defibrillator and other emergency gear. 8. And it's pretty nice inside, by all accounts. Since this is not Trump's own personal vehicle and may well serve his successor, let's assume the gold leaf has been kept to a minimum and it's done up in tasteful leather and wood. But then again, who really knows, outside of the Secret Service and a handful of GM engineers.
