My beautiful 1990 'Pretty Woman Limousine'. ('Pretty woman' was a 1990 stretch limo, just silver). This car spent it's life in Texas and Arizona at different funeral homes before I bought it three years ago. This explains the low mileage and the minimal rust. It has been a wonderfull family car for trips to Atlantic City and Williamsburg but I don't drive it much anymore. It is always stored inside and has never been in snow or salt. The underside pictures show surface rust on the frame but the body is still beautiful with virtually no rust and no holes through the undercoating given to it at the Federal factory where the Brougham was made into a 23' long 24 hour Limo. A 24 hour limo got it's name from the fact of the marvelous reversable middle seat which switches in a few seconds to front or rear facing. The privacy partition window still goes up and down with controls in the front and the back. A 12' video screen swings down in the front of the passenger compartment and plays through the rear radio leaving the driver compartment free from noise with the window partition up. The front radio has been replaced with a large screen GPS/radio. Front and rear a/c still work fine. I have replaced the rear air shocks but did not try to work on the leveling system. You can add or subtract air pressure to the shocks as necessary. The upholstery still look almost new and the rugs are in excellant condition. There are a few dings in the body, but people still pull along side to look and see who is inside. This car has six doors, but the middle doors have no outside handles giving a more distinquished appearance. The classic look does not give away the fact this car is 23 years old! GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015
Mon, 25 Feb 2013General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.
GM considering new powertrain options for large SUVs
Tue, 15 Oct 2013Aside from the new General Motors offerings, there's not a whole lot of action going on in the fullsize SUV segment. That doesn't seem to be stopping GM from pushing the envelope in the market as Automotive News is reporting that the automaker is looking to introduce some new powertrain options into the Chevy Tahoe (and Suburban), GMC Yukon (and Yukon XL) and the Cadillac Escalade - all have been redesigned for the 2015 model year.
Now, we already know that GM and Ford are collaborating on nine- and ten-speed transmissions for a broad range of applications (including the big SUVs), but this new report says that GM is also considering other options as a way to one-up the competition and, of course, to optimize fuel economy. AN quotes Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer for GM trucks, as saying that "interesting powertrain technologies" are coming including a return of a hybrid SUV and possibly even a diesel engine. Although it sounds like the latter could come down to how customers respond to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel.

There is no escaping the luxury all-wheel drive empire Audi has built for itself over the past 15 years. While nearly every high-end marque has at least one offering with power at all four corners, the hardware can't help but play second fiddle to Ingolstadt's Quattro kingdom. Leather-lined all-wheel drive is simply Audi the way minimum wage is an English degree. But General Motors seems hell-bent on raiding as many established fiefdoms as possible with the 2013 Cadillac ATS. Engineers and designers made no secret of the fact that the baby Cadillac was penned specifically to take on the BMW 3 Series, but Audi should be no less concerned about the newest luxury prince from Detroit.
GM has been stuffing all-wheel drive systems under their vehicles for years, but the effort hasn't come without nasty side effects. Unfortunate understeer, extra ride height, smallish wheels and porky curb weight meant opting for all-wheel drive was like signing your driving pleasure's death warrant.
