Up for auction today I have this beautiful 1976 CADILLAC FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM.  I bought this car from an estate sale.  It has been garage kept.  It was a one owner car until I transferred it into my name.  These fleetwoods are hard to find in this shape. The car runs great.  It will need the brake line replaced on the driver side.  It is leaking below the passenger door. The tires are old and will need to be replaced as well.  The rear filler pieces are also going to need to be replaced, but they are available online or on Ebay.

The body of this car is in great condition.  The only defects I found on it are the small ding on the rear trunk deck as you can see in the picture.  There is also a little rust spot behind the trim on the driver rear quarter.  On the trunk deck it was stored with a rubber mat on it so it trapped some moisture and caused the small little rust spots that you can see in the picture.  This car will be very easy to clean up and have a beautiful classic.

The interior of this car is in excellent condition.  Please look at all the pictures.  There are no tears in the seats.  No cracks in the dash.  It is really amazing.  The one down side of the interior is the owners put moth balls in the car to keep rodents out so it will need to be detailed out to get the mothball smell out.

The car is showing 64,959 original one owner miles.  It was parked in the garage for many years. It runs great and has factory AC.

This car will need to be trailered because of the broken brake line and the old tires.

I bought this car as a project, but I have too many right now so I am trying to clear out some garage space.  If it does not sell I will keep it and make the repairs this winter.  Thanks for looking and don't miss your chance to make this beautiful classic Cadillac yours.

2014 Cadillac XTS Vsport

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Not long after bombing around the Milford Road Course in the new CTS Vsport, Cadillac invited me to try out its other new-for-2014 Vsport model: the XTS. And despite using the same twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 from the CTS, the Vsport package takes on a whole new meaning here in Cadillac's softer flagship.
In the CTS, this trim perfectly bridges the gap between the standard models and the hardcore CTS-V, and is focused on being the best-driving version of the range without a standalone V badge. The XTS, however, has no proper V model, so the Vsport becomes the new range-topper for that line by default. But unlike the CTS Vsport, which uses rear-wheel-drive architecture and is focused on driving dynamics above all, the XTS is geared toward a much different customer.
The entire XTS experience is far more concerned with plush comfort than handling prowess, and while this Vsport model certainly ups the ante with more power and some mild suspension and steering tweaks, it's not exactly what we'd call a particularly engaging experience. But that doesn't mean it isn't good.

Cadillac recalls 17,500 SRX CUVs in Canada

Fri, 03 Oct 2014

When reporting on recalls, Autoblog generally tries to focus on the US market. However, a recent campaign in Canada seems important enough to be worth mentioning because it could eventually affect American drivers. General Motors is repairing 17,481 Canadian examples of the Cadillac SRX from the 2010-2015 model years because of the possibility of a loose nut in the rear suspension. For the moment, the automaker hasn't yet announced whether the CUV in the US would require a similar campaign.
The notice was dated September 18, 2014, on the website for Transport Canada, similar to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US. It says, "the rear suspension toe link jam nuts" might not have been sufficiency tightened, which could allow a rear wheel to turn "inboard or outboard" while driving. If this happens, it could cause a sudden change in handling. Canadian Cadillac dealers are inspecting the parts and replacing the toe link if necessary.
This campaign isn't listed on the GM's running recall tally from September, which includes exported models, but it does list four other campaigns for the SRX this year - three in this range of years and one for the 2004-2006 model. Autoblog reached out to the company to ask about the possibility of this recall expanding to the US and were told "We have not publicly announced US recalls" for the issues affecting the SRX. The New York Times was given a similar quote. Scroll down to read the notice from Transport Canada.

Cadillac toned down ATS Coupe design due to customer feedback [w/poll]

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

Automakers always face a difficult decision when it comes to styling their cars. Design them too blandly and nobody will get excited about them. But style them too aggressively and they'll often end up turning off potential buyers.
Cadillac, for its part, is no stranger to aggressive design, but when it came to the new ATS Coupe, it elected to tone things down a bit. Speaking with The Detroit News in a wide-ranging interview, Cadillac design director Bob Boniface revealed that the original design for its compact coupe was edgier - closer to that of the CTS Coupe - with a wedgier profile, a more steeply raked beltline and a more severe grille. But potential customers surveyed in clinics apparently didn't like it. They found it looked heavy, inefficient and not fun to drive. So Boniface and his team literally went back to the drawing board and "took as much visual mass out of the car as [they] could." The resulting coupe, while handsome, looks far more similar to its four-door companion than did Cadillac's CTS.
What do you think, does the new ATS Coupe look just right, or is it too conservative? Voice your opinion in our quick online poll.
