Up for auction is a beautiful 1994 Cadillac Presidential Series Limousine.  Designed by the same coach builder that built the three Presidential Limousines of the same year for the Secret Service during the Clinton era.   This vehicle comes complete with built in fender flag holders, two flag stands, two American Flags and fender uplights that light the flags at night.   This vehicle has just under 56,000 original miles and in show room condition.  This was built as government limousine.  It has no divider for ease of speaking with driver, folding middle seat that faces rear and a huge rear compartment.

In 1994 the Fleetwood was a new design for Cadillac and this model stayed the same until 1996.  This car is powered by the powerful LT-1 Corvette Engine that Cadillac borrowed from Chevrolet.  This rear wheel drive limousine is in like new condition and has been garage kept since new.   The roof is Black cloth and features Presidential Series emblems all in gold.   Infact all emblems are gold all over the vehicle and they are in perfectly new condition.   The paint is Cadillac Raven Black and is perfect with absolutely no damage of any kind, no dings, no dents, no scratches.   Mechanically everything about this vehicle is perfect.

Exterior - all black paint is perfect, clothe roof is in excellent condition.   All chrome is in very good to excellent condition.  Chrome Moldings are in great condition.   This model had all chrome rocker panels and they are in great condition as are all the plastic moldings and bumper guards.  Car has been garage kept, all gold emblems sparkle.  Factory Chrome rims are perfect and tires have about 85% left on them.

Interior- Interior leather is all original and in nice condition.   No rips or tears.   The rear seating consists of a huge factory rear seat and a three person rear facing jump seat for a total of six people in rear compartment.  There are footrests, opera lights, hideaway cup holders, a bank of four switches and head rests on the rear seat as well as a second air conditioning system.  Headliner is perfect.

This vehicle rides like a dream and drives like brand new.   The steering turns with on finger.   Everything on this vehicle is like new.  Reserve is very reasonable considering the condition of this vehicle.   This is a real head turner.  Ask any questions you like by email.  Thanks

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.

Cadillac toned down ATS Coupe design due to customer feedback [w/poll]

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

Automakers always face a difficult decision when it comes to styling their cars. Design them too blandly and nobody will get excited about them. But style them too aggressively and they'll often end up turning off potential buyers.
Cadillac, for its part, is no stranger to aggressive design, but when it came to the new ATS Coupe, it elected to tone things down a bit. Speaking with The Detroit News in a wide-ranging interview, Cadillac design director Bob Boniface revealed that the original design for its compact coupe was edgier - closer to that of the CTS Coupe - with a wedgier profile, a more steeply raked beltline and a more severe grille. But potential customers surveyed in clinics apparently didn't like it. They found it looked heavy, inefficient and not fun to drive. So Boniface and his team literally went back to the drawing board and "took as much visual mass out of the car as [they] could." The resulting coupe, while handsome, looks far more similar to its four-door companion than did Cadillac's CTS.
What do you think, does the new ATS Coupe look just right, or is it too conservative? Voice your opinion in our quick online poll.

Cadillac HQ has a New York address

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

The new home of Cadillac will be in the 330 Hudson building in New York City's Hudson Square, putting the luxury marque smack dab in the middle of three of the city's hippest areas, SoHo, Greenwich Village and Tribeca.
The announcement is yet another milestone in the company's controversial decision to relocate administrative and marketing operations away from Detroit and into the Big Apple.
"The addition of a headquarters office in New York is a key step in Cadillac's ongoing global expansion," Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen said, according to The Detroit Free Press. "There is no better atmosphere in which to better immerse ourselves into luxury consumer and brand expertise."
