For sale is estate sold one owner 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood (not sure if a Brougham or just the standard Sedan its got the 4.5L)....  anyway ,  it is a really clean non detailed car as it sits.. this isn't enhanced or waxed its pristine for its age.  Always garaged until today . good tags till 7/4 fly in & drive home!!!!!. color is called ANTELOPE exterior is Firemist & had a extra cost on window sticker included. .No Reserve is set.. buy it now is encouraged and  is super low for a sweet classy Ride..... If this gets a bid high bidder will win & that could be 8K or so if you really want a vintage caddy so here it is.  It's in really nice unmolested condition.Non smoker ever , grand mom driven.  Low original 77K miles. Its like a time capsule. This would make a great daily driver, Sunday driver,. , executive car or more. You will be hard pressed to find one in this condition.really nice color with the soft top look and really clean for not being detailed.. This is the last of the large long hood smooth riding American cars and is sure to become collectible soon if not already since Its almost 25 years old. Detroit will never build cars like this again. This is FULL SIZE which is very comfy and roomy.. Mechanically its in excellent condition and drives and shifts smoothly. Oil changes were done every 3K miles roughly. The A/C blows cold and nice. This 4.5 engine V8 power plant engine is strong.. It leaks no fluid or oil so you won't have to worry when you park it on a cement driveway or in your garage.  The car was garaged and parked out of the sun and weather. It was pricy when new as it was over $36K back then cash out the door with reciept.. The car is not mint since it is 24 years old because of normal wear & tear, front passenger bumper has some chipping , driver turn lens has a hair line crack & the trunk has a slight indent. those are the only flaws noticed. Very nice shape. no rips or heavy wear, all around and it is all original everything works as it should.. like new tires with spare & extra tire.. If your looking for a showpiece it wouldn't take much to bring it to that level. The caddy is sold as-is. Shipping arrangement is up to the buyer. We can drop the car off to a local car shipper if that helps or could possible drive home fly in & go theres a full tank & good paper tags till 7/4/14 title in hand. Most cars cost roughly $400 to $1500 to ship depending on your location from my area. Payment will be in cash or cashiers check. A paypal deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of auction closing if won.not listed on any other site if very serious text 702-769-9858 1st listing every on this one owner beauty. thanks Kevin

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.

Safety group pans GM’s new Marketplace in-dash shopping

Wed, Dec 6 2017

When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce

Cadillac president reveals XTS sedan refresh, flagship vehicle plans

Mon, Aug 29 2016

Update: The second paragraphed has been changed from the original text to make it clear that de Nysschen, not Autoblog , claimed the report by The Detroit Bureau is inaccurate. Cadillac has been on a tear ever since the automaker poached Johan de Nysschen from Infiniti, becoming a more profitable automaker while delving deeper into the luxury market. While some reports indicate that Cadillac may be limiting its lineup, de Nysschen just put everything out in the open. In the comment section of an article by The Detroit Bureau that claimed Cadillac would cut its lineup down, de Nysschen stated the report was inaccurate and outlined the automaker's future. The Cadillac CEO wrote "Some of what you report is correct, some incorrect, most is conjecture." A Cadillac spokesperson confirmed that de Nysschen did write the comment, but did not comment on any of the details. The Detroit Bureau's Paul Eisenstein told Autoblog that he stands behind the information in the report. In any case the most interesting tidbit in de Nysschen's comment is the major refresh for the Cadillac XTS. The news directly contradicts previous reports that indicated the XTS would be killed off by 2019. In Cadillac's pursuit to add some space between it and GM, the XTS was expected to get the axe in favor of more profitable vehicles. The sedan, which was introduced in 2012, shares its underpinnings with the latest generation of the Chevrolet Impala. To the contrary, Nysschen stated that "We ARE planning a major refresh for XTS." What the major refresh will bring the aging sedan is still a mystery, but the vehicle isn't dying. The move to keep the XTS in its lineup is a bit of a surprise as Cadillac has filled its lineup with track-oriented sports cars, rear-wheel-drive sedans, and extravagant crossovers. The boat-like XTS with its front-wheel-drive layout and available all-wheel-drive system sticks out like a sore thumb, even if it were to receive a major overhaul. The only real explanation is that Cadillac hopes the vehicle will still appeal to its old-school customers that are unwilling to compromise interior space and ride quality. In our most recent review of the XTS, we thought the luxurious sedan was a great long-distance cruiser, but not a talented sports car – no surprises there. It's unlikely that Cadillac will focus on driving pleasure with the refreshed XTS, focusing instead on pure comfort and luxury.
