1971 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special 7.7l on 2040-cars
Holland, Michigan, United States
This is a 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood with 70,000 original miles. This is a very original car that has a fresh paint job and is mechanically sound. I have recently driven this car on a 1200 mile round trip with no issues. It always starts, runs and drives as it should. I have had this car for eight years and it has always been kept in running and driving condition, I know ownership history back to new. I had the bodywork and paint done by a bodyshop, there was a little rust on the front fenders and at the base of one C-pillars. I have many photos of the work done, this car was too solid not to restore. There has never been any rust on the floor pans or trunk floor, when I took it apart there was no evidence of any water ever getting inside. This car looks and runs great, it is a very nice driver. There are a few issues like the A/C, Cruise Control, and radio do not work correctly. Everything else does work as it should. About three years after the paint job a small rust bubble came up on the rear fender. You have to look close to see it, I am including the leftover can of paint if someone wants to fix it. This car is an early production run so it is a little different than most 1971 Fleetwoods. I have had a lot of fun with this car but now I have other things to work on. I am only interested in US or Canada sales please. I can assist with delivery to an extent if needed. This is a no reserve auction so good luck bidding. Email me with any questions.

Wed, 17 Sep 2014If you are in the market for a luxury coupe but would prefer it to be American, then you are in luck because the configurator for the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is now online.
Prices for the Cadillac start at $38,990 (including the $995 destination fee) for the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 272 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, or $46,145 for the 321-hp, 275-lb-ft 3.6-liter V6. Gearbox options include a six-speed manual on some 2.0 models or a six-speed automatic on both of them, and they can be ordered with all-wheel drive for $2,450 to the four-cylinder or $2,600 to the 3.6.
One thing that Cadillac does especially well here is giving customers a plethora of models and options to choose from. Trim level choices include standard, luxury, performance and premium for the four-cylinder or luxury, performance and premium for the V6. There are also 10 colors available, five of which carry an extra premium of $495 or $995. Upgraded interior packages for $1,295 add improved trim and leather, as well.
Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment
Thu, 20 Mar 2014One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
GM winding down Chevrolet brand in Europe
Thu, 05 Dec 2013If you've taken even a cursory look at GM's European strategy and wondered how it can target the market there with both Chevrolet and Opel/Vauxhall, you're not alone. In fact General Motors itself has found it difficult to justify the two-pronged approach. That's why it's essentially pulling Chevy from the European marketplace.
Instead of trying to ply European buyers with what are mostly former Daewoo products rebadged as Chevys, GM will now let Opel (or Vauxhall in the UK) represent its mass-market aspirations. Chevrolet will keep its presence in Russia and other former Soviet markets, and will continue selling certain niche products in Eastern and Western Europe. The Corvette, for example, has long been sold in Europe through Cadillac dealerships, which for its part is currently "finalizing plans for expanding in the European market".
While the shift in strategy is expected to help GM get a stronger foothold in the European market in the long run, in the short term the restructuring will cost it dearly: between $700 million and $1 billion, according to its own estimates, split between the last quarter of this year and the first half of the next.
