1941 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Imperial Touring Seven Passenger Limo One of 98 ever built with the rare electric divider window, which is in excellent working order! The actual known number still left in existence is unknown; however, according to historians, it is believed to be under 15! 65K ORIGINAL MILES! Clean and solid from top to bottom! This car handles and drives outstanding! If you have a feedback score of less than 10, please call before bidding. Call any time (216)548-8375 (Tim) Or (216)701-6495 (Jeff) This car was reportedly purchased new by the Wrigley Family (Chewing Gum), although we are still in search of supporting documentation. It was later placed in a museum in California, where it was on display for 25 years. It was then purchased by a man in California who recently sold it to a limousine company in Ohio, where it was used sparingly for special events before acquired by us. This Fleetwood series model is one of less than 800 built in 1941. One of only 98 limos with the divider window. It is powered by the original and very strong and smooth running 346 Flathead V8. It rides on a 136" wheelbase. It has a 3 speed manual transmission on the column. The drive-train is in outstanding condition and this car is ready for touring or show. Some of its unique characteristics include a working electric divider window in perfect condition, a set of auxiliary jump seats, working factory fog lights, front and rear radios (not working) and a leather chauffeurs compartment in near perfect original condition! The original leather seat just recently had the leather professionally conditioned and looks like new! This limo is in mostly original, un-restored condition. The paint is VERY presentable with only minor cracks/crazing and a few touch-ups on what is believed to be one partial repaint. Some of the paint appears original. It has a gorgeous deep black mirror like shine. The interior is completely original. The front carpet is worn. The rear carpet is in original beautiful condition. The seats, headliner, door panels, trim, etc... are in very good condition. All the lights, signals, horn, wipers and gauges work properly, with the exception of the fuel gauge. The electric divider window works beautifully as seen in the video. The exterior stainless is in very nice condition. Most of the chrome has been re-plated over the years and shows beautifully with only minor flaws. The glass is in very good condition. Just recently the limo had a full tune-up to include points, plugs and wires. The engine compartment is clean. The brakes, wheel cylinders, carburetor and generator have all recently been rebuilt. The flywheel has been resurfaced and the universal joints were replaced. The limo rides on new Coker Classic radial wide whites. New fender skirt seals and a new cowl to hood weather strip was also installed. This limo is easy to drive and runs like a Swiss watch! It goes down the road with ease, handles beautiful and shifts and stops as it should! We recently drove it in a "Home Days" parade for over 40 minutes at almost idle speed with no issues at all. Runs cool and strong! Mechanically extremely sound - Drive anywhere! This limo needs nothing but a new owner. THE PICTURES AND VIDEO SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES! |

GM’s move to Woodward is the right one — for the company and for Detroit
Wed, May 1 2024Back in 2018, Chevy invited me to attend the Detroit Auto Show on the company dime to get an early preview of the then-newly redesigned Silverado. The trip involved a stay at the Renaissance Center — just a quick People Mover ride from the show. IÂ’d been visiting Detroit in January for nearly a decade, and not once had I set foot inside General MotorsÂ’ glass-sided headquarters. I was intrigued, to say the least. Thinking back on my time in the buildings that GM will leave behind when it departs for the new Hudson's site on Woodward Avenue, two things struck me. For one, its hotel rooms are cold in January. Sure, itÂ’s glass towers designed in the 1960s and '70s; I calibrated my expectations accordingly. But when I could only barely see out of the place for all the ice forming on the inside of the glass, it drove home just how flawed this iconic structure is. My second and more pertinent observation was that the RenCen doesnÂ’t really feel like itÂ’s in a city at all, much less one as populous as Detroit. The complex is effectively severed from its surroundings by swirling ribbons of both river and asphalt. To the west sits the Windsor tunnel entrance; to the east, parking lots for nearly as far as the eye can see. To its north is the massive Jefferson Avenue and to its south, the Detroit River. You get the sense that if Henry Ford II and his team of investors had gotten their way, the whole thing would have been built offshore with the swirling channel doubling as a moat. This isnÂ’t a building the draws the city in; itÂ’s one designed to keep it out. Frost on the inside of the RenCen hotel glass. Contrasted with the new Hudson's project GM intends to move into, a mixed-use anchor with residential, office, retail and entertainment offerings smack-dab in Detroit's most vibrant district, the RenCen is a symbol of an era when each office in DetroitÂ’s downtown was an island in a rising sea of dilapidation. Back then, those who fortified against the rapid erosion of DetroitÂ’s urban bedrock stood the best chance of surviving. This was the era that brought us ugly skyways and eventually the People Mover — anything to help suburban commuters keep their metaphorical feet dry. The RenCen offered — and still offers — virtually any necessity and plenty of nice-to-haves, all accessible without ever venturing outside, especially in the winter, but those enticements are geared to those who trek in from suburbia to toil in its hallways.
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade's triple curved OLED screens are gorgeous
Thu, Feb 6 2020The centerpiece and crown jewel of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is the triple OLED screen setup facing the passengers. It’s an imposing cowl with 38 inches of screen real estate in total, and itÂ’s a Cadillac Escalade-exclusive piece of technology. An interesting and unique feature like this has the potential to set Cadillac apart from the stiff competition in the luxury space. Its appearance is just like that of the Cadillac Escala concept. We donÂ’t often get to see interior concepts carried into production, so thatÂ’s exciting on its own. The layout consists of a 16.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 14.2-inch instrument cluster and a 7.2-inch touchscreen to the left of the cluster. All of the screens are curved and use OLED technology, which is commonly used on the screen of your Android phone, iPhone or TV. It allows for the deepest blacks, best contrast ratios and extremely vivid colors. In short, an OLED screen is going to look better than an LCD screen, and thatÂ’s why Cadillac is using it. We sat down with a few folks who could tell us more about it. Phil Kucera, Cadillac interior design manager, gave us some background on the decision to implement this tri-screen layout. “To be honest with you, it was a high-end leadership decision,” Kucera says. “There was a lot of, 'Hey maybe we donÂ’t put that on the base level. And why do you have to use OLED?' Because OLED is not the cheap way to go. So the fact that it stayed that size and remained OLED Â… I would bet that youÂ’re going to see other people doing something like this. There was a real push to try and get here first.” Sounds like the screen could have ultimately been a victim of cost-cutting measures. WeÂ’re glad it made it into production, because it looks promising. Sameer Gupta, GM's engineer manager responsible for infotainment, walked us through the new digital landscape. If you didnÂ’t like the old Cadillac software from before, youÂ’ll be happy to learn that this system is a completely new user interface, sharing nothing with any software before. Gupta told us that this is “a complete first-of use of this interface.” “When we started doing the system, we envisioned a system that had rich graphics, but was also simple and adaptive,” Gupta told us. After spending some time poking around in an Escalade, we can report that the new menus are full of rich graphics, pleasing animations and snappy transitions.
Next-gen Cadillac CTS-Vs caught in parking lot
Thu, 10 Jan 2013A pair of camouflaged Cadillac CTS prototypes were spotted, and thankfully photographed, outside a grocery store in Southern California. From the image above - there are plenty more if you click over to TotalCarScore.com - it appears these could be testers for the 2014 CTS-V, but that is just speculation. We've seen the obvious "V" motif in the grille before, and there's what could be another "V" in the design of the side mirrors.
The hood on the car in the background appears to include two bulges, but the single shot that affords a tiny peek under the hood shows reveals only the airbox. Plenty of rumors, and the sight of an engine cover inscribed with the words "Twin Turbo," have caused people to wonder if a twin-turbo V6 will live under the production car's hood instead of the V8 currently there. In back, instead of the round tailpipes found outboard on all the CTS sedans, there's a pair of integrated tips in a parallelogram shape. A new shifter with contrasting stitching was spied in the cabin.
If predictions hold up it will arrive later this year. When it does, expect the body underneath all that camo to be softer on the eye compared to the current car - less science and more art. For now, hit the link to see more spy shots of what's coming.
