CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Up for sale and your consideration is a beautiful classic 1939 Cadillac Series 60 Fleetwood four door sedan with only 85,740 original miles. This car was garage kept it's entire life. This is a turn key and drive car that runs, drives and stops great, and can be enjoyed immediately on the day of purchase. This is a rare find since it is in outstanding condition and is a very well cared for true survivor. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have listed here on the auction. I have many more photos available should any prospective buyer want them.  Just call and ask for them. If any prospective buyer has any questions on this car I encourage and welcome the opportunity to show this car in person by appointment. I have in hand a clean title for this car showing actual mileage. I also have the original owner manual and a reproduction shop manual for this specific car.
BODY :
The outer body is rust free. I'm not a body man, but I was told by two different body shop owners that they believe that this car still retains it's original paint. There is one small rust spot inside the left front fender. It is not part of the fender and appears to be an inner fender panel. The right side has been repaired. All glass is perfect. Trunk and doors lock with the original key. Chrome and trim is in amazing condition for the year.
UNDERSIDE:
As you can see in the photos the underside has only surface rust on the original floor pan front to rear. This is unheard of for a northeast vehicle. Underside viewing shows new brakes, new brake lines, new rear shocks, new king pins, new tie rod ends along with some new front suspension parts. The gas tank was removed and restored with the Renu restoration process. A new sending unit was installed. The gas tank is coated inside and out so the gasoline never touches the metal again. The interior is very nice original The left rear carpet has one area near the door that shows age. The woodgrain on the dash and window moldings is excellent. The steering wheel and all plastic knobs are excellent original. Headliner has no rips. The velvet autorobe blanket you see hanging on the passenger assist rope is an original with the original manufactures tag on it. It reads Artfur Auto Robes. It was manufactured by Shelton Looms. The seats appear to have been covered by material much stronger than the original cloth, but since seat covers were a factory option for an additional whopping $8.25 per seat, they may be original. A well versed Cadillac expert could probably answer this question. Windows roll up and down effortlessly. The gas gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, ammeter gauge and speedometer gauge all work fine.
DRIVETRAIN:
Drivetrain is all original with low miles. Car is equipped with the 346 cubic inch "L" head V8 with hydraulic lifters. Engine is topped with a Stromberg AAV-26 carburetor that works great. A new fuel pump has also been installed. It is backed by a three speed selective synchro transmission that transfers the power to the 3:92 ratio differential. The car has just been tuned up and serviced with a fresh oil change, new spark plugs, and chassis lubrication. The transmission oil and rear differential oil was also just checked.
ELECTRICS:
Parking lights, high and low beam headlights, dash and glove box lights are all working. Interior light has power to the pillar mounted switch, but doesn't work. Working fog lights are a factory option and are connected to the headlight switch. The cost was $14.50 per light for this factory option. The under dash switch is marked 'fog lights' and illuminates when activated. Car has two horns. One is factory unit working fine that is activated by the horn ring on steering wheel. The other is a three trumpet musical opera horn activated by a toggle switch. It is unique and has it's own sound. The heater works fine. The wipers work great operating fast and smooth. The factory radio comes on but doesn't pull in any stations. You can hear scratching in the speaker when you move the volume knob. The radio was a $69.50 option and the heater was a $31.50 option.
OPERATION:
Since the fuel system was renewed with a restored gas tank new sender and lines and new fuel pump, along with a rebuilt front suspension and braking system, and all operational electrics, this classic Caddy is a dream to drive and gets thumbs ups wherever you drive it. The 16" Gangster wide whites have excellent tread. This will make an excellent enjoyable addition to any collection. The original condition and patina would be appreciated by any real car person. You can find rows of restored trailer queens at any car show, but try to find an original 1939 anything in this condition !
TERMS OF SALE:
Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence.  This car has been described honestly and to the best of my knowledge. It is literally impossible to know every tiny aspect of a 75 year old car so my description is based solely on a complete and thorough physical inspection, servicing of the car and driving the car. That way all prospective buyers questions can be answered. This car is being stored in a secure heated garage. This 1939 Cadillac is sold in AS-IS condition with no actual, expressed or implied warranty or guarantee of any kind. The day you buy it is the day it becomes your car. No refunds or rebates. I'm not interested in any trades, no low ballers or scammers. If you are a serious buyer ready to put a deal together then I am ready to talk to you. The condition of this vehicle speaks for itself as does my long term 100% positive feedback.

Any other method of payment would need to be discussed with me first. An ebay required non refundable $300.00 paypal deposit will be paid by the winning buyer using either the buy it now option or winning buyer at the end of the auction. Shipping of the car will be the financial responsibility of the buyer. I will be happy to recommend previously used shippers. I will also be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up, pick-up, and loading of the car. Again to be crystal clear if any prospective buyer has any questions as to the integrity or condition of this 1939 Cadillac then I welcome and encourage the opportunity to show this car in person by appointment. Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

Cadillac's Euro reboot may have implications for US models, sales

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Firmly on the comeback trail in the US, Cadillac is still trying to get out of the starting blocks in Europe. At the Geneva Motor Show in March, Cadillac' senior execs revealed plans to grow the brand's presence in a luxury market dominated by the big three German marques, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
GM President Dan Ammann says he sees "enormous" potential for Cadillac globally.
Over the past 20 years, the General Motors premium nameplate has tried and failed multiple times to break into the European market. This time around, Cadillac recognizes that progress will be modest at best, and depends on specific changes to models, some of which may impact the brand's US lineup. Planned new sales tactics in Europe may also impact the way Cadillac does business on this side of the pond.

Ford C-Max spot aimed squarely at Cadillac ELR 'Poolside' hubris [UPDATE]

Thu, Mar 27 2014

If we had tried to predict the first video response to the controversial Poolside video for the Cadillac ELR, we would not have thought it would center on compost. But, hey, it's always nice to be reminded that the real world is sometimes better than fiction. Instead of the chic swagger of 'Poolside,' 'Anything Is Possible' is all about getting dirty. The new short in question is called Upside: Anything Is Possible and it promotes two things: Detroit Dirt and the Ford C-Max Energi. As in the ELR ad, Ford's plug-in C-Max only makes an appearance at the tail end of the spot, but instead of the chic swagger of Poolside, Anything Is Possible is all about getting dirty. The ad stars Pashon Murray, co-founder of Detroit Dirt, which takes natural waste from around Detroit, composts it into soil and then spreads that around "forgotten parcels" of Detroit to create urban farms. Detroit Dirt gets its bio-waste from a lot of sources, including the Detroit Zoological Society (all that herbivore manure has to go somewhere), Ford and General Motors, but this particular ad was the idea of Ford's PR agency, Team Detroit. It was a frenetic shoot, filmed with an LA-based director right after a big winter storm blew through Detroit, and Murray couldn't be happier with the result. "This was Ford Motor Company pushing my story, letting me tell the story that I believe in," Murray tells AutoblogGreen. "I get to help push this car and I get to tell my story." She says that the Team Detroit and Ford had to agree on the message, "from my understanding, [YouTube] is where they wanted to start, not where they wanted to finish." The ad is already getting a positive response on Twitter, so we won't be surprised if it shows up in more places soon. "It's not saying Ford is better than GM. It's telling the story of a black woman who's working hard in Detroit." As Detroit Dirt has off-screen support from both GM and Ford, it's unsurprising to hear Murray say that the video "is not a rivalry thing." She notes that the ad agency Team Detroit came to her and offered to tell the Detroit Dirt story using the framework of the GM ad. "It's a parody on this commercial, but it's not saying Ford is better than GM," she said. "It's telling the story of a black woman who's working hard in Detroit." What is that story? It's about urban farming, recovery and recycling. Murray tells us that for the last seven or eight years, she's been dedicated to sustainability.
