2002 CADILLAC ELDORADO ETC COUPE

Special Collector’s Series package marked the final 1,596 coupes to come off the assembly line as the ELDORADO headed for retirement (this one is #674).  This ETC-based special edition features a specially tuned exhaust, two exclusive colors, 16in wheels, and signature wreath-and-crest embroidered seats.  The ELDORADO lays claim to being the best-selling prestige luxury coupe in the United States, and 2002 was its last year of production.  Cadillac’s 4.6L Northstar V8 delivered 300HP in the ETC, combined with front-wheel drive, Magnasteer variable-effort steering. StabiliTrack includes stability enhancement designed to correct skids automatically, allowing it to respond better to driver inputs; and road texture detection reads the road surface, leading to better anti-lock brake performance.  It just got an oil change and new front struts.  Clean inside and out, very well-kept and maintained.  Runs strong, transmission shifts smooth, no engine or transmission issues.  Has black and red leather interior with some carbon fiber inserts on dash and door panels, collector’s plaque on passenger side dash insert, and car phone (not activated).

Cadillac teases two new V-Series prototypes at the Detroit Grand Prix

Sat, Jun 1 2019

We told you earlier this week that there would be more to come from Cadillac's V-Series of performance vehicles following the introduction of the brand's CT4-V and CT5-V performance sedans. We just didn't expect it to come quite so soon. Cadillac surprised attendees of the 2019 Detroit Grand Prix as two new prototypes took to the track for what we figure must have been demonstration laps in between other official race events. A CT4-based machine wearing funky blue camouflage joined a red-hued CT5-based prototype on the track, with driving duties split between Mark Reuss, president of General Motors, and Ken Morris, vice president of Product. Cadillac CT4 V-Series prototype View 3 Photos Exactly what's powering these prototypes is still a mystery, but we have our suspicions that these two beasts are putting down a lot more power than the 320-horsepower CT4-V and 355-hp CT5-V that underwhelmed enthusiasts earlier this week. We wouldn't be surprised if there was a version of Cadillac's twin-turbo Blackwing V8 engine under the hood of this V-badged CT5 prototype. Cadillac is being coy with further details, saying only that these two vehicles "represent the next step in Cadillac's V-Series performance legacy." So we'll just have to wait for now. But in the meantime, feel free to peruse the images above and speculate in the comments below.

Shatner's Rivet motorcycle to enter limited production with CTS-V engine [w/video]

Sat, Apr 11 2015

William Shatner has entertained the world for decades, from playing Captain Kirk on Star Trek to covering songs like Rocket Man and Common People. Now in his 80s, Billy Shatz has embarked on one of his weirdest projects yet: helping to design the wild Rivet One trike with motorcycle fabrication company American Wrench. Now, you can order one too with power as crazy as the three-wheeler's design. We last saw the Rivet One's aluminum body with the styling like a menacing, art-deco easy chair a few months ago, but now Shatner has started talking about the trike's powerplant, which is based around the heart of a Cadillac CTS-V. "It's a beast with advanced guts. It's powered by an all-aluminum, computer-controlled, supercharged and intercooled V8 engine – producing over 500 HP," Shatner said to Gizmag. Keep an eye out because Shatner intends to captain the Rivet One from Chicago to Los Angeles later this year. Also, if you want a ride like Captain James T. Kirk, the company is taking requests for the trike, made on a build-to-order basis after completing Shatner's job, according to Gizmag. Prices aren't announced yet but expect the number to be as out of this world as a voyage of the Enterprise. The video below provides a further look at the Rivet One's unconventional design. 11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.
