2000 Cadillac Eldorado Esc Coupe 2-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
San Leandro, California, United States
THIS 2000 CADILLAC ELDORADO IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH LOW MILEAGE!
I AM THE SECOND OWNER WELL MAINTAINED. GREAT TIRES ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IN TEXAS FROM THE LARGEST CADILLAC DEALER IN TEXAS MASSEY CADILLAC I PURCHASED IT IN 2002 (STILL HAD BALANCE OF EXISTING FACTORY WARRANTY WHEN I PURCHASED). RUNS GREAT LOTS OF POWER AND GOOD GAS MILEAGE. NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. EVERYTHING WORKS I HAVE RETIRED NOW AND DO NOT NEED A SECOND CAR. ONLY TWO ISSUES: 1) THE SERVICE RIDE CONTROL LIGHT KEEPS REAPPEARING. THIS HAS GONE ON SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN TEXAS IN 2002 WHEN IT WAS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. HAVE PAPERWORK SHOWING TWO DEALERS DID EVERYTHING TO CORRECT THE LIGHT (INCLUDING REPLACING SENSORS AND ALIGNMENTS). NEVER HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR ANY REASON, ALWAYS ABLE TO ALIGN THE WHEELS AND HAD NO ABNORMAL WEAR. SO FOR THE 12 YEARS I HAVE OWNED THE CAR I JUST CANCEL THE LIGHT WHEN I COMES ON (THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT). 2) THE DOOR PANELS HAD COME LOOSE AND ARE NOT AS GOOD A CONDITION AS THE REST OF THE INTERIOR. I POSTED PICTURES THE CAR IS FOR SALE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA ONLY!!!!! WILL NOT SHIP, BUYER IS WELCOME TO COME BY AND TAKE A CLOSE INSPECTION. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. I CAN SEND MORE PICTURES. |

Cadillac recalls 17,500 SRX CUVs in Canada
Fri, 03 Oct 2014When reporting on recalls, Autoblog generally tries to focus on the US market. However, a recent campaign in Canada seems important enough to be worth mentioning because it could eventually affect American drivers. General Motors is repairing 17,481 Canadian examples of the Cadillac SRX from the 2010-2015 model years because of the possibility of a loose nut in the rear suspension. For the moment, the automaker hasn't yet announced whether the CUV in the US would require a similar campaign.
The notice was dated September 18, 2014, on the website for Transport Canada, similar to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US. It says, "the rear suspension toe link jam nuts" might not have been sufficiency tightened, which could allow a rear wheel to turn "inboard or outboard" while driving. If this happens, it could cause a sudden change in handling. Canadian Cadillac dealers are inspecting the parts and replacing the toe link if necessary.
This campaign isn't listed on the GM's running recall tally from September, which includes exported models, but it does list four other campaigns for the SRX this year - three in this range of years and one for the 2004-2006 model. Autoblog reached out to the company to ask about the possibility of this recall expanding to the US and were told "We have not publicly announced US recalls" for the issues affecting the SRX. The New York Times was given a similar quote. Scroll down to read the notice from Transport Canada.
Cadillac's Euro reboot may have implications for US models, sales
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Firmly on the comeback trail in the US, Cadillac is still trying to get out of the starting blocks in Europe. At the Geneva Motor Show in March, Cadillac' senior execs revealed plans to grow the brand's presence in a luxury market dominated by the big three German marques, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
GM President Dan Ammann says he sees "enormous" potential for Cadillac globally.
Over the past 20 years, the General Motors premium nameplate has tried and failed multiple times to break into the European market. This time around, Cadillac recognizes that progress will be modest at best, and depends on specific changes to models, some of which may impact the brand's US lineup. Planned new sales tactics in Europe may also impact the way Cadillac does business on this side of the pond.
Cadillac considering more electric cars, Elmiraj business case gaining popularity
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Cadillac's electrification isn't likely to stop at the $76,000 ELR coupe, according a report from TheDetroitBureau.com. Speaking to Cadillac's global sales boss, Bob Ferguson, a successful ELR will likely lead to a larger, even more upscale offering than the Volt-based two-door. "I could certainly see a larger vehicle, something even more luxurious," Ferguson said of a potential second, battery-powered Caddy.
That car would likely boast a more potent version of the Voltec powertrain that motivates the Volt and ELR. This next-generation system is still sometime off, though, and won't likely arrive until the second-generation Volt hits the market.
Besides hinting at future plug-in hybrids, Ferguson spoke to TDB about the improving business case for the Elmiraj Concept, shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey in August. "I'm very excited about the reception for the Elmiraj," Ferguson said. "I'd like to see it in showrooms as soon as possible," he added, before saying that a business case for the production version of the big coupe still needed to be presented to the brass. "It was made to be operationalized," Ferguson added, which is just what we want to hear when it comes to big, flashy concept cars.
