Up for auction is my 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. I will first list all the small issues with this car:

The cruise control does not work
The clock does not work
The rear passenger window works but needs a little help to stay in line
there is a crack on the upper and lower dash
the drivers seat back has a small rip
the rotating cadillac symbol that covers the trunk lock is missing
it could use some new weather stripping on the A pillar
The cadillac script is missing on the front hood so are the small chrome pieces on the bottom of the front extentions
There appears to be a hole in the floor above the catalytic converter that was patched from the inside. (see pics)
And it needs a new muffler.

Not bad for a car that is 37 years old. I have not tried to fix any of these issues so i'm not sure how easy or hard it would be to fix. The previous owner cut a trim piece on the dash to install a cd player, I have tracked down and purchased a new trim piece along with an 8 track radio with CB  that was an option in 76 I will include these with the car. The car shows under 68000 miles which I've been told are original. I purchased this car from the son of the first owner. It runs and drives great, there are no mechanical issues that I am aware of. We have taken this car on numerous road trips and it never gave us any problems. The car was painted about 5 years ago, during that time some rust was cut out of the rear quarters and new metal welded in. The original color was green but was repainted a slightly lighter shade. The wheels were also painted to match the car. The paint has no chips or major scratches. During the painting process some over spray hit the vynal top but most of it is covered by the trim. There is a small scratch on the front extention near the hood (see pics). The trunk and trunk lid are solid, there appears to be a rubberized lining on the floor of the trunk perhaps to prevent rust or noise. This same material is on the undercarriage and except for the hole that was patched on the floor there appears to be only surface rust on some parts of the undercarriage typical of a car this age. I have tried to be honest and list any and all issues I am aware of on this car, however this is no replacement for you own inspection which can be arranged if you are in the area. Car runs and drives great but is sold as is. If you are the winning bidder a $500 no refundable deposit via pay pal is due within 24 hours of auctions end. With balance paid in cash at pick up. I reserve the right to end auction early as car is for sale locally. The reserve is lower then what I have invested in this car, but it needs to see because I need the garage space. If you have any questions please ask. Thank you and good luck.

Cadillac V-Performance Academy joins free driving school party

Sun, Sep 4 2016

Just in case you needed another reason to want one of Cadillac's hottest performers, starting with the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V, the first owner of each vehicle can score a free two-day course at Spring Mountain Motor Resort with the V-Performance Academy. According to Spring Mountain's website, the V-Performance Academy "is designed for drivers of all experience levels and includes dynamic car control exercises, visual skill development, and proper cornering techniques," with "brief" classroom sessions sprinkled in. Driving programs like the V-Performance Academy are all the rage right now. In the last few weeks alone, both Fiat and Ford announced free one-day academies baked right into the price of cars like the 124 Abarth and Focus RS. As with the Ford and Fiat courses, Cadillac is providing the learner cars. But where those other courses call on vehicle owners to shell out for airfare, food, and in Fiat's case, lodging, Cadillac covers tuition – a $2,420 expense for non-owners – along with two nights in one of Spring Mountain's "luxury condominiums" and breakfast and lunch during both driving days. Students are still on the hook for airfare, although Caddy will shuttled attendees from Las Vegas McCarren to the track/resort, some 55 miles away. If you can't shell out for the flight to Las Vegas, a new CTS-V or ATS-V, or simply can't spare two days for a driving school, Cadillac is ramping up for another year of its one-day, traveling V-Performance Lab, which will run at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut and at Circuit of the Americas in Texas. Cadillac XT6 SUV will be revealed in Detroit in January

Thu, Dec 13 2018

Cadillac will hold an event on Jan. 13 on the eve of the Detroit Auto Show to reveal its long-awaited new XT6 three-row crossover, Automotive News reports. The XT6 is seen as a critical product for Cadillac, which has been caught flatfooted with a lineup heavy on sedans amid the boom in crossovers and SUVs. It'll slot between the midsize XT5 crossover, and the full-size Escalade luxury SUV. Cadillac recently started selling the smaller XT4 crossover as well. The XT6 is expected to arrive in showrooms around mid-2019. We've seen several spy shots of the XT6 cloaked in heavy camouflage, including some views of the uncovered dashboard and console layout earlier this week that showed a wide, sweeping dash and elements seemingly borrowed from the CT6 sedan. Cadillac is also reportedly working on a "master brand" campaign strategy expected to be unveiled early next year, with plans to make Cadillac GM's technology leader for self-driving and electric-vehicle systems, with plans to bring Super Cruise to its entire lineup. The GM luxury brand plans to launch a new or redesigned vehicle every six months for the next three years. Related Video:

Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt

Sun, May 11 2014

It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.
