1968 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe
In 1967 Cadillac transformed the Eldorado into a
whole new “Personal Luxury” automobile. The all new Eldorado Coupe shared the
Oldsmobile Toronado’s United Power Plant Package and front wheel drive set up.
The redesigned Eldorado was a very crisp and distinct model that gave the brand
a very modern and competitive edge in the luxury marketplace. The Eldorado was
an instant success and for model year 1968 disc brakes became standard along
with new safety features and by 1968.
I am pleased to offer this very rare and desirable
1968 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe presented in lovely Monterey Green Firemist
Metallic over White leather and black interior. This Eldorado has had a repaint
in its original Monterey Green Firemist some time ago and still looks very nice
retaining an excellent shine. The original leather interior is great with absolutely
no tears or fading. The driver door arm rest does show some cracking and wear. The
original black carpets are still intact along with the cars original dashboard
and vinyl headliner. The car still retains its original Cadillac wheels,
steering wheel, radio, and all of its original interior and exterior trim. This
Eldorado starts right up and runs very well, it idles very nicely and the
transmission shifts smoothly without any issues. The brakes feel great, the
suspension feels nice and is free from any rattles or squeaks. The chrome on
the exterior looks nice but does show a little pitting on the lower and a
couple bubble spots on the lower area. The body is very straight and accident
and dent free. There are a couple spots that are bubbling under the paint, one
on the lower left hood and a couple small spots in the trunk area. The
headlights are powered by vacuum assist and work well, all of the lights work.
All of the exterior lights are working, the reverse lights, side marker lights
and headlights are all working. Interior lights work, the power windows are in
working order and even the power seats are in working order. Original spare
tire in in truck. This Cadillac is a very nice original low-mile car that had become
increasingly hard to find over the past few years. If you are looking for a
very nice, well maintained and rare original early Eldorado Coupe this is it, an
extremely handsome and nice example. On 22-Jan-14 at 09:15:12 EST, seller added the following information: The mileage is actually 103,300 |

2014 Cadillac CTS
Tue, 24 Sep 2013Fixated By Europeans, GM Ensures The Third Time Is A Charm
Few things are better for consumers than competition raising the bar. And no campaign seems fiercer than the one currently underway in the midsize sport-sedan segment now that Cadillac has introduced its all-new 2014 CTS to go head-to-head against the benchmark Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
While the CTS has been on the market for slightly more than a decade, up until this third-generation, Cadillac hasn't truly had the proper high-performance rear-wheel-drive architecture to build a genuine world-class fighter, both inside and out. And now that the American automaker has successfully mirrored Audi, BMW and Mercedes in overall vehicle size, engine output and cabin appointments, the first shots have been fired.
Cadillac logo losing its wreath?
Tue, 23 Jul 2013The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.
Facelifted Cadillac ATS spied completely uncovered
Thu, 27 Feb 2014The Cadillac ATS makes for a pretty svelte little coupe, and General Motors appears to know it, because multiple, completely undisguised prototype sedans have been spotted testing wearing what look like many of the forthcoming coupe's body parts.
Not only does it wear at least the outline of the brand's new, broader crest, it has the same front air dam with continuous chrome strip found on the coupe. The only real difference is that it has the somewhat taller side view mirrors from the sedan, rather than the narrower, longer ones from the coupe. Around back, the changes are harder to spot because the test car is outfitted with an unpainted lower bumper. However, it seems to lack the chrome strip that offsets the lower portion of the coupe from the sedan.
The ATS sedan is already a looker, but it is good to see Cadillac is taking a second pass using what it learned on the coupe. There's no word yet on when this revised sedan is going to hit the streets - let alone what changes will take place beneath the skin - but we're thinking it looks about right for 2015.
