96 Cadillac Sedan Deville, 73,480 original miles. One of the finest available in the country. Polo green on soft black leather, the original paint is close to like new, and very classy. All of the chrome and rubber mouldings are exceptional and shiny and bright. The original wheels are in excellent condition and free of gouges and chiups. All of the turn signals, headlamps, brake lights, are clear. Crack free and excellent. All the glass is crack and chip free, including the windshield. All of the Cadillac Insignias are there and perfect. under the hood is exceptionally clean and close to like new. The same goes for the trunk with the original unused spare and all tools. The interior is exceptional for its age. Very classy and gorgeous. Every thing seems to work nicely that I know of. It is mechanically sound and runs and drives like a 73,000 mile car should. Almost like new. It has had two owners and only one most of its life. It has 19 service records which gives it a $1300 adjustment above retail book. You will be very pleased if you are the high bidder on this car. I have included the original $39,000 invoice with the pictures. It has a 5,600 NADA book plus a $1300 adjustment for its extensive service records. $6900 is its total value making this pristine Cadillac a real value at $3875. Thank you. Seinfeld and Don Rickles stretch out in classic Caddy for latest CiCGC

Thu, 04 Jul 2013

It's no surprise that for the newest episode of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, airing for the first time on the 4th of July, that a couple of American classics are involved. You'll Never Play the Copa unites Seinfeld with legendary curmudgeon Don Rickles, driving around in a stunner of a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Seville in Gleneagles Green (upholstery wrapped in Grandma-spec plastic, of course).
Mr. Rickles really steals the show in this one - maybe our favorite CiCGC to date - though the Eldorado plays a strong-jawed costarring role, for sure. Stories about Ronald Regan, Frank Sinatra, Billy Graham and, of course, Herkie Styles are more than worth the price of admission. Check it out below.

Online Find Of The Day: 2008 Cadillac XLR picks up where Excalibur left off

Thu, 23 May 2013

We try very, very hard to keep snark away from creations like the one you see here. After all, someone poured plenty of enthusiasm, time and money into turning a 2008 Cadillac XLR into a modern interpretation of the new-old cars typically done by cottage builders like Excalibur and Clénet. Even so, it's hard not to wince when you set an eye on this machine. With its wheelbase stretched to accommodate the extra bodywork, goofy sidewalls and upkicked nose (examine it in profile, it looks slightly bent in the middle), this "neoclassic" takes whatever was loveable about the Cadillac underneath and buries it in a tacky grave.
Miraculously, the engine bay has been left unmolested, which means the retractable hardtop convertible still features a 4.6-liter Northstar V8 engine good for 320 horsepower. If only that were enough to outrun its shame. If, for some reason, you feel like taking this thing home, Harry Kaufmann Motorcars of Milwaukee says it can be yours for a paltry $74,998. We wish were joking. Check it out here.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
