1978 Cadillac Deville Sedan 4-door 7.0 Smog Ok Rebuilt Engine Trans Rear End $7k on 2040-cars
Ok, this was my project for the last 4 years and I ran out the 3 things needed for old cars, (time money and patience). I just rebuilt the engine, trans, and rear end. They have less than 3k on them. Just had the brakes redone. The car runs and drives. Just passed a smog check within 30 days. The tags are up to date and current. I rebuilt the steering column. I put in a new gear box (steering) and new alternator. The rear end has new bearings and seals in it. The car is aligned. I put in a new heater core and the A/C unit works and blows cold air. It has a new fan motor. It has an alpine cassette player (I know it's out of date, I tape all my LP's) and had 4 new speakers put in it. I just put in a new fuel sender in the gas tank. Now heres the bad, the interior is worn out (as shown in the photos provided). Some of the electronics don't work (ride leveler, cruise control, mirror adjuster, fuel gauge, drivers power door lock switch) and some of the inside lights are burned out. The car does have some rust around the rear window and some dings and dents. It needs new body plastics. Basically it needs to be painted, wired and needs upholstery. The bones in it are good, basically this pretty lady needs some makeup. The expensive part is done, you finish the rest.

GM recalls Chevy Impala, Cadillac XTS for braking problem
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Back in April, General Motors launched an investigation into braking issues affecting the 2014 Chevy Impala. Now there's a recall of both the Impala and the Cadillac XTS with which it shares its Epsilon II platform.
The issue apparently revolves around the electronic parking brake, which may not properly disengage. As a result, the rear brake pads could rub the rotor even while the vehicle is in motion, causing "significant heat, smoke and sparks." The earlier investigation had been launched following a complaint regarding the forward collision avoidance system, which is now either appears to have been unrelated or possibly a symptom of this larger issue.
The recall affects 2013-15 XTS models manufactured between February 14, 2012, and August 22, 2014, as well as 2014-15 Impalas manufactured between January 15, 2013, and August 22, 2014. The total number of affected vehicles reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration comes to precisely 132,921 units, while The Detroit News reports a higher total of 205,000 units - the difference potentially coming down to the scope within the US and more broadly across North America. Dealers will contact owners to update the software in order to fix the problem.
This 1969 Ford F-100 has a Cadillac CTS-V engine lurking underhood
Fri, Jan 30 2015Something always feels just a little taboo when someone builds a custom and then slots in a powertrain from a rival automaker. That's exactly the case with this modded 1969 Ford F-100 boasting a highly tuned LSA supercharged V8 like from the second-gen Cadillac CTS-V. However, with a claimed 800 horsepower on tap thanks in part to running an estimated 20 pounds of boost, it's easy to get over any bad feelings. Built by Tommy Pike Customs in South Carolina, the truck tries to keep the exterior looking somewhat stock. Although, the jade green and satin gold paint, Quaker State logo, lowered suspension and black wheels immediately suggest something is up. Once the F-100 starts up with its menacing growl, absolutely any doubts of this beast being unaltered are immediately gone. Not so obvious are some tweaks to actually help put all that power down, including disc brakes and independent suspension setups at the front and rear. The video gives some glimpses at a few of Pike's other creations, but the real star here is definitely his mean, green Ford.
