This auction is for a super clean, all original, low mileage 1975 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with only 19292 miles on it! This beauty was used for 1 year until the warranty expired, from then on it was garaged and only taken out for shows. This is by far the cleanest all original car that I've ever come across...everything except the gasoline, the oils/etc, and possibly the battery are all original...even the tires! The car was owned by a supervisor at the Fisher Body plant in West Mifflin Pa and was babied since it was new. Since this was a bosses car, it rec'd top rate detail when brought in. This beauty has never been in any type of wreck or collision and runs like a top...all 500 Cubic Inches of it! The white leather interior is in super condition with no age cracks or splits and no yellowing at all...it still smells new. The dash is in perfect shape and you can hear the old school mechanical clock running when the car is turned off. The car has no corrosion or damage of any type, with the exception of two paint blisters (about the size of a dime) where the Landau roof meets the car body on the passenger's side. These were not there when the photos were taken but were discovered when the car was examined about two months ago. The only issues I saw concerned the rear right tail light trip (which is loose) but a spare is included. There is also a small crack in the plastic in the back corner of the bumper near the right tail light...it appears to be a typical plastic age crack, but pictures of it are included. The two teflon sleeves on the door closers will need replaced (not unusual for these to crack and fall off) and the drivers side high beam light adjuster will need replaced as the light looks a bit downward...a very small fix. The window on the passenger's side works properly, but since there is no frame for the window to fit into, the window doesn't always line up when it is closed with the door open...it work perfectly when the door is closed. The engine is a massive 500 CI monster that runs like it was new and the car runs on unleaded gasoline. The tires are original and still in very nice shape but the beginnings of some dry cracking is notable if it is looked at closely...the spare is a full sized spare and has never been removed from the massive trunk. New tires will be needed as the current tires are a bit too old for my liking, although they still hold and keep air. The trunk is big enough to hold a full set of luggage and still have a lot of room left over...it is huge! The car has a white vinyl or leather landau style roof with the front of the roof being painted the same forest green. The chrome on the car is in super shape with no pitting or corrosion...even the front grille is in great shape. I had difficulties getting the hood to open as the release cable feels like it has hung up and I had to open the hood from underneath. The hood is currently open and I put some penetrating oil down the release cable, but I am reluctant to close it again in the event the cable doesn't have enough working space to open the latch (it was very close to opening, but needed about 1/2 inch to open freely. There are no real problems with the original forest green paint and there really isn't any stone chips (with one exception, which is on the corner of the hood and shown in one of the pictures) or road caused issues...the paint is still very deep and glossy. The car has been taken care of better than most babies...this car must be seen to be fully appreciated...it is immaculate. The car is kept indoors and under a car cover...please look at the photos to get a better idea of the super shape this beauty is still in...you will have to wait a looong time to find a car in better condition and with less mileage. While this Cadillac is in great shape, please keep in mind that this is all original and hasn't been restored or worked on at all. I have listed all of the problems that I am aware of and will update any issues that I find. The car is nice, but it is NOT a new vehicle and is bound to have some small issues that have gone un-noticed or un-detected, but I have listed as many of them as I am aware of. The title is clear but, unfortunately, will be listed as a duplicate title due to a previous sale that wasn't completed but had writing on it...I don't think the title will xfer with this incorrect information written on it, so I will need to contact the Pa DMV to get a new title issued. I apologize for this as I know most collectors dislike duplicate titles but it was done before the sale was finalized and can't be fixed...I will pay for the cost of the new title. This car can be shipped to you or picked up in the Pittsburgh, Pa area. Please, no scammers or rip-offs...I'm too busy to play your games. Payment will be accepted via a certified check, money order, wire transfer, or even personal checks (I don't think Paypal goes this high)...but before the car leaves my possession the funds must clear the bank...no exceptions! The car had the original title and I will include this with the sale. The original Cadillac owner's manual is not in the glovebox...I don't have it and it wasn't in the car when I bought it. There are current plates on the car presently, but there were Antique Plates on it when I purchased it. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!!

Cadillac Escalade driven by Tony Soprano for sale

Fri, Nov 6 2015

If you're a fan of The Sopranos imagining a trip to the Bada Bing, then check out this white 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV for sale by RR Auction. James Gandolfini drove this luxury SUV in the role of Tony Soprano for the last three seasons of the mafia-themed series. Gandolfini also signed the interior to give you something to show off to your buddies. If you've ever watched the show, you've almost certainly seen this white SUV before. According to the auction listing, the series featured two Escalades, and this one was used for exterior shots. The Caddy even starred in an action scene in season 5 when Tony chased after Phil Leotardo. Gandolfini's signature appears inside twice: once with "Thanks for the truck, James Gandolfini" and again with just his name. The auction also includes a letter of authenticity that's signed by the actor, and a second document asserts the SUV's use in the series. Apparently, Gandolfini had a habit of signing messages in his vehicles from the show – at one point he wrote a threatening "Be nice to my car" message in a red Chevrolet Suburban from earlier episodes. The auction for Tony's Escalade runs from November 12-19, which still leaves plenty of time for a meeting of the families to decide to buy it. Bidding starts at $5,000, and according to The Drive, the consignor estimates a final price between $30,000 and $50,000. This sale should at least come to a more definitive end than The Sopranos did. Cadillac planning more Vsport models

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

There's a new intermediate class of luxury performance cars emerging. Audi has been doing it for years with its S-line bridging the gap, in many cases, between the standard fare and the full-on RS performance range. BMW's getting in on it with the M Sport line slotting in below the full M models. And now Cadillac is joining the fun with its Vsport offerings.
Models like the CTS Vsport and XTS Vsport are packing a new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 410 or more horsepower (along with bigger wheels and brakes) to slot in between the standard model and any impending V variant. Well, it appears Cadillac isn't about to stop there.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Cadillac product chief Hampden Tener revealed that, based on the response to the XTS Vsport, the brand is planning more Vsport models. He did not, however, indicate which would be the next to get the slightly sportier treatment. With the full ATS-V expected to pack a version of the same engine powering the aforementioned XTS and CTS Vsport models, an ATS Vsport would have to pack a smaller engine to fit in below. That only leaves the SRX crossover, Escalade SUV and the upcoming ELR hybrid. Food for thought.

Cadillac CT5 Luggage Test | How big is the trunk?

Thu, Oct 1 2020

The Cadillac CT5 is a midsize luxury sedan. At least by today's standards. By the standards of Cadillac's past, it's practically a compact. At 193.8 inches long, the CT5 is 3 inches shorter than its STS predecessor of 15 years ago and 11 inches shorter than the Seville of 25 years ago. This is significant since virtually every other car brand's offerings have grown from generation-to-generation. See the BMW 5 Series as just one example. You'd have to go back to the 1980s to find a CT5 ancestor that's smaller, though that stubby thing was an aberration.   Honestly, I'm just sharing that because I think it's interesting. This post is about trunk space, and exterior size doesn't necessarily equate to how much junk you can fit in the trunk. In fact, the CT5 is pretty good example of that. Although smaller than its predecessors, the CT5 is still an awfully big car that's comparable to other midsize luxury sedans, including the 5 Series, Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The trunk, however, is notably smaller than what you'd get in those with a rather rinky-dink 11.9 cubic feet. That's coupe territory and less than what you'd get in some subcompact sedans. The A6 and E-Class are in the 13-cube range, while the 5 Series apparently has 14.5 cubic feet.  So, how small is 11.9 cubic feet? Although plenty wide at the rear, which should be handy for golf clubs, the CT5's trunk isn't very long compared to all those competitors. The A6's is narrower but also practically a tunnel by comparison. Also, note the ramp-like structures along the outer edges. Besides making loading a hassle, they effectively make the trunk even smaller than the 11.4 cubic-feet that's technically there since it's so difficult to load items right up to the wheel wells. You can see a closer look at those "ramps" above left along with the smallish pass through that oddly looks like a previous-generation Hyundai Sonata's grille.  Above right you can see the underfloor storage. There is no spare tire.  Besides those "ramps" impeding luggage loading from below, these giant speakers hanging down from the parcel shelf sure don't help, either. Watch your hands while loading, as well as anything that might be easily scratched (or that might damage the speakers) OK, let's get to the bags.
