This is a NO RESERVE listing.
This is my 1973 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with only 65,291 original miles. This car was purchased new at Clairmont Cadillac Corporation in Montclair, NJ on August 31, 1973 by Mr. Jack C. Tancrel, aged 55. Soon after, Mr. Tancrel retired to Florida and took the car with him. He kept the car garaged and perfectly maintained for the rest of his life. The original purchase price in 1973 was $6495.00 and I have all of the original dealer sales paperwork, warranty papers and even letters written back and forth to Cadillac for warranty work. I also have a stack of service records, paperwork and receipts dating back to new plus the original books and manuals. The list of paperwork and documentation is extensive; it documents the car from brand new. In 2007 the car was sold by his surviving spouse to their next-door neighbors in Florida. These folks are retired and keep a collection of classic American cars. They spend their winters in Florida and their summers here in Northeast Ohio. The car has not been exposed road salt or snow; it has either spent its winters in Florida or in a dry garage up north. This Cadillac has been outstandingly well-preserved. For a 40-year old car, it looks, runs and drives superbly well. This car has ALWAYS been perfectly maintained and well cared-for. Rarely will you find a 40-year old car like this with a fully documented history since new. This car has the original sales paperwork from new, and a huge stack of service records that are as recent as last year. The service records and maintenance history are beyond compare. The car was repainted once in 1985 and a superb job was done. This paint job looks excellent- the finish carries an excellent gloss and the car looks beautiful. There is no exterior body panel rust- this car is about 98% rust-free. It is completely solid in every way, including underneath. This is a superbly well-preserved car in gorgeous clean condition. The interior of the car is original, and it is in excellent condition. The seat upholstery, carpets and dash are clean and in very good condition. The interior has held up exceptionally well over 40 years. This car runs and drives outstandingly well. The engine starts and runs smoothly and it makes excellent power. The engine does not smoke or hesitate, nor does it show any undue fluid leaks. This is a quiet, comfortable and smooth vehicle. The brakes are powerful and stop well. The suspension is comfortable and tight, with no clunks. The steering is smooth and precise. This car drives and rides exceptionally well. This car has no known mechanical or electrical problems and it is ready to drive anywhere. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country. They don't make cars like this anymore- big, heavy, body-on-frame, high-quality RWD American cars are part of our history. This car has the following equipment and options:
This car is a 1973 and as such it is not brand new. Please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car. Here is a list of all known defects: The plastic front bumper fillers below the headlights are missing. There is some wear and rips in the carpet in the driver's footwell. There are a few small dings, plus other small nicks and defects in the paint and body. There are a few tiny bubbles in the paint, maybe a few below the window trim and inside the door jambs, etc. There is a nick at the front edge of the right rear door. The door trim on the right front door is slightly bent at the edge. The rubber bumper guards are somewhat shrunken, uneven and cracked. You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home. Alternatively you can have this car shipped- please call Angels Moving Autos at 530-245-0481 for a shipping quote. Questions, please email or call/text John at 440-339-4341. |

Cadillac CT5 vs. BMW 3 Series | How they compare on paper
Fri, Apr 26 2019Cadillac just introduced the CT5 sedan at the 2019 New York Auto Show, and it's set to replace both the larger CTS and smaller ATS in the brand's lineup. We have all the details and features for you, in addition to a deep dive with the car's chief engineer, but now it's time to see how it stacks up to the long-time standard bearer in this class: the BMW 3 Series. Now, the car is a bit larger than the completely new 2019 3 Series, but Cadillac says the 3 and the rest of the compact luxury sedan class is its target for this car. We'll dive further into this little conundrum later. This comparison will look at how these vehicles measure up on paper, as we haven't driven the CT5 yet. That will come later, but we're expecting it to be a proper sport sedan competitor with the 3 Series, since Cadillac is building it off GM's dynamically superb Alpha platform. Now let's get on with the comparison. Powertrains and performance Both of these sedans come standard with 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The BMW four-pot is a bit more potent, coming in with 18 more horsepower and 37 pound-feet of torque more than the Cadillac. Here's our driving review of the BMW. The only upgrade engine for both available initially are turbocharged six-cylinders. BMW offers up its revised inline-six, while Cadillac offers a V6. These six-cylinders are both 3.0 liters. Cadillac bests the BMW in brute torque by 31 pound-feet, but BMW takes the horsepower prize, making 47 more ponies. It's hard to say which car will actually be faster to 60 mph — they'll probably end up being about the same once official numbers are out. This segment used to be one guaranteed to offer a manual transmission, but that's not the case anymore. Neither Cadillac nor BMW will offer a manual to start, but expect to see the stick shift return to higher performance models of each car. For now, they both get torque-converter-style automatic transmissions. One dimension that isn't going away from either anytime soon is rear-wheel drive. Both cars offer rear-wheel and all-wheel drive in every spec available. Fuel economy for the 3 Series is impressive at 30 mpg combined with the four-cylinder. We'll have to wait and see if Cadillac can challenge that figure with its less powerful engine. Size and practicality Here's where a lot of the confusion about the Cadillac CT5 sets in. The CT5 is a tad larger than the 3 Series in its exterior dimensions, but the interior specs are nearly identical.
Cadillac's Super Cruise — look, Elon, no hands!
Fri, Aug 4 2017Cadillac is about to start selling vehicles with an autonomous driving mode and TechCrunch got an early look at the technology in a production car. "Wait for the green light and let go," the Cadillac engineer instructed. That's it. The car was driving itself. I, the person behind the steering wheel, was no longer the driver. Cadillac's Super Cruise system was driving. The 2018 Cadillac CT6 sped along U.S. 23 under the direction of Super Cruise. Traffic was light and the weather was perfect. The system held the Cadillac sedan in lane and responded appropriately to traffic. I spent an hour on the expressway and touched the steering wheel and pedals only a few times. Super Cruise made the drive boring. I think that's the point. Here's how it works Super Cruise is available once the driver navigates the vehicle onto an expressway. When ready, a little icon is displayed by the speedometer and the driver hits a button on the steering wheel to switch it on. Once the light bar on top of the steering wheel turns green, the driver can let go. Super Cruise is driving. This steering wheel light bar is key to the operation. When green, the driver knows Super Cruise is in control. Blue means the driver interrupted the system to change lanes and red means Super Cruise needs the driver to confirm they're paying attention and not checking Twitter. When active, Super Cruise controls the steering and speed, but again, only on an expressway. This is done through onboard sensors and using GPS and mapping data. GM employed GeoDigital, a startup in GM Venture's portfolio, to map 160,000 miles of expressways in the U.S. and Canada. The car company then used Super Cruise-equipped vehicles to test each mile. This combination of onboard systems combined with map data makes the system feel polished and sophisticated. During my admittedly limited time in the vehicle, the CT6 precisely held its position in the lane and confidently handled sweeping curves at speed. There was no wiggling or squirming — from the Cadillac or myself. The car was in control, and I felt safe. Although the driving conditions were perfect for my test ride, during adverse weather, the system will work normally until one of the key systems is unable to operate.
GM extends vehicle production cuts into mid-March due to global chip shortage
Tue, Feb 9 2021DETROIT — General Motors said on Tuesday it was extending production cuts at three North American plants until at least mid-March due to the global semiconductor chip shortage, while vehicles at two other factories would only be partially built. GM, whose shares dipped 1% after the announcement, did not disclose the impact volumes or say which supplier and vehicle parts were affected by the chip shortage. But it said it would focus on keeping production running at plants building its highest-profit vehicles, full-size pickup trucks and SUVs. GM said it intended to make up as much lost production as possible once the shortage chip eased. "Semiconductor supply remains an issue that is facing the entire industry. GM's plan is to leverage every available semiconductor to build and ship our most popular and in-demand products," GM spokesman David Barnas said. GM said it was extending downtime at its U.S. plant in Fairfax, Kansas, its Canadian factory in Ingersoll, Ontario, and its Mexican facility in San Luis Petosi until mid-March when it would reassess the situation, he said. In addition, GM would build but leave incomplete for final assembly vehicles at Wentzville, Missouri, and its Mexican plant at Ramos Arizpe. GM vehicles affected by the idled plants include the Chevrolet Malibu sedan, Cadillac XT4 SUV, Chevy Equinox, and GMC Terrain SUVs. Vehicles to be left incomplete for now included the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon pickups and Chevy Blazer SUV. This week, GM had said it was idling the three factories where it has now extended downtime and said it would halve production at a plant in South Korea. The chip shortage has affected many automakers, including Toyota, Volkswagen, Stellantis, Ford, Renault, Subaru, Nissan, Honda and Mazda. Asian chipmakers are rushing to boost production but say the supply gap will take many months to plug. German chipmaker Infineon said the shortage would get worse in the near term. The chip shortage is expected to cut global output in the first quarter by more than 670,000 vehicles and last into the third quarter, IHS Markit said. AutoForecast Solutions estimated total lost production this year could reach 1 million vehicles. Honda and Nissan said on Tuesday they would sell 250,000 fewer cars in total this financial year due.
