1969 coupe deville. original car. this car has been sitting since about 2006. we took out the old gas ,blew out the lines , put in fresh fuel ,and it started right up. it has the 472 v8 engine and it runs excellent. it looks as if someone did a lot of work to it before the laid it up. it has a new carb on it , new wires, car plugs, alternator and regulator. the engine is real clean both in and out and it looks as if it may have been rebuilt. it runs out great with no smoke and has good power. runs smooth with no noises. transmission is right there and shifts perfect with no slipping or hard shifting. stepping on it to the floor, will spin the tires. the bodyhas some rot on the lower part of the front fenders like most have ( see pics ). the rest of the body is rust free and solid. it has some minor dents, and 1 bent fender skirt but thats about it. the interior needs to be redone, the new mexico sun has pretty much burnt up the seats and door panels. the headliner is in good shape. the car is original and has all good chrome on it. the windshield is cracked, but the rest of the glass is good. the power windows both work. the speedometer works and shows 48,000 miles. i have no way to verify this so use your own judgement. the tires are old but hold air. the owners manual is still in the glove box. the car is originally from galles cadillac here in albuquerque. nice car to restore to original beauty. we do have clear new mexico title in our name ready to go. we car store the car at your risk as long as you need as long as its paid in full. i can help load on your trailer or transport. please ask questions and i will answer them the best i can.........thank you !!!!!!!

Cadillac recalls ELR coupe over stability control problems
Fri, 28 Mar 2014Cadillac is recalling about 656 2014 ELR models made between September 26, 2013 and February 14, 2014, because of a fault with the electronic stability control system. On cars without adaptive cruise control, it's possible that diagnostics could prevent the system from telling the driver if ESC is on or off.
Cadillac has a software fix ready and repairs begin on April 17. Alan Adler, General Motors' recall and legal spokesperson, tells Autoblog that only about 55 of the affected cars are in the hands of owners. The rest are either on dealer lots or still at the factory. There have been no reported injuries or crashes caused by the fault.
The correction for the stability control system involves a software recalibration of the electronic brake control module that takes around 20 minutes to perform. While they use the same platform, the Chevrolet Volt isn't involved in this recall because it "uses a different a brake control module," said Adler.
Cadillac's Butler announces surprise departure
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cadillac's vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned. Butler has held the position since April, after a term as vice president of US marketing for General Motor's luxury brand.
As the report explains, the timing here is pretty unfortunate for Cadillac. Butler is the third high-profile member of Cadillac's brass to depart in recent months, following the firing of US sales boss Chase Hawkins and the pending departure of Susan Docherty. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told the Detroit paper, "Bob [Ferguson]," global boss for Cadillac, "and other leaders asked him to stay on. Don's here in the office today - and told our team that his decision is purely on a personal level. After three years of putting everything into Cadillac, he is stepping away for some personal time, and to consider new avenues in his life."
Butler says his decision is part of a decision to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities." Whatever the reason, it's an unpleasant surprise for Cadillac, which has been on a surge in 2013, with 30-percent jump in sales on the heels of the hot-selling ATS.
GM recalling 524k vehicles over hood latches and toe link nuts
Fri, 03 Oct 2014Just hours after confirming to Autoblog its intention to recall 97,540 vehicles in the US (117,651 in North America) for a possible manufacturing defect in the chassis control module of several models, General Motors is issuing two more campaigns that affect another 379,401 units in the US (524,384 in North America).
One campaign covers 290,107 US examples of the 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX and the 2011-2012 Saab 9-4X because the "rear toe link adjuster lock nuts" may be improperly torqued. If not up to spec, the toe adjuster link could separate and allow the wheel to shift while driving, making the handling unstable. GM says that it knows of three crashes and two injuries as a result of this problem. Dealers are inspecting the nuts and installing a new link assembly, if necessary. Autoblog first reported about this potential issue when it showed up on a list of recalls from Transport Canada.
The second recall is for 89,294 examples of the 2013-2015 Chevrolet Spark in the US manufactured from January 17, 2012, through July 29, 2014. According to GM, "corrosion can cause the secondary hood latch striker to stick in the open position." If this happens, and the primary latch also isn't engaged for some reason, the hood could fly open while driving. About 13,000 of these affected Sparks are at dealers and are being held until repaired. The fix requires replacing the hood striker. GM isn't aware of crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by this problem.
