1968 Cadillac Deville Base Convertible 2-door 7.7l on 2040-cars
Union, Maine, United States
Hello to all ebayers,..... ******ATTENTION!!!!******For an EXTENSIVE COLLECTION of CURRENT PICTURES ((132+/-))!!!!!, PLEASE CLICK on the link directly below this sentence****** http://my.tidewater.net/~kitti/CadillacConvertible
.....up for your consideration and/ or bid is yet another old classic out of my 30 year+ collection. This one being a 1968 Cadillac DeVille 472 Big Block Convertible!!! Like everything in my collection, the Cadillac is currently not a "turn-key-driver" and will need some work. I purchased the Cadillac 15 years ago in 1999 and it has been used little since,...it has spent most of the time in storage. For the Cadillac to be a "turn-key-&-go-driver",...it needs the following regards to the front of the Cadillac,...brake shoes need replacing ((both sides)) and 1 brake drum replaced (D/S/ it is missing completely). The rest of the shoes seem fine, but the other 3 drums will need to be turned down a little and cleaned up ((some surface rust that needs to be removed)) due to sitting all those years. The master cylinder needs to be filled with fluid and bled out, ((brake lines are good)), needs canvas convertible top, battery, lastly a tune up probably.....((good running, but last started 1+ year ago)), burns no oil, trans works great and clean transmission fluid. The engine turns over smoothly and rapidly when using a good battery with some high amperage,...a low amperage battery is just simply inadequate for an engine of this size and compression,...being a 472 Big Block. The sheet metal threw-out the Cadillac is pretty decent all and all,.....there are some rust issues "here and there" due to the age of the Cadillac being 46 years in the Northeast,......please LOOK at ALL the DETAILED PICTURES because "good", "bad" or "indifferent" varies widely according to the viewer. The convertible top bows and frame-work are all complete with NO RUST, NO BENDS and NO BREAKS. The convertible top motor along with the hydraulic arms and hydraulic lines are all original, in place, excellent condition and worked perfectly fine when last tried/ operated 5 years ago in 2009. The tires all-the-way-around are excellent and hold air fine with no problems,...the spare is the only exception and a little "tired",...but holds air for 3 hours (+/-). *****NOTE*****The Cadillac free-rolls 100% and NO brakes are seized,...therefore will load with ease. I've stated all that I know about the Cadillac as factual as possible. Due to the age and amount of sitting for years, this Cadillac does not come with any guarantees or warranties expressed or implied and is sold as is where is. For the winning bidder I offer FREE delivery BUT only if you are local and/or up to only 20 miles away. If you are 21-100 miles from the Cadillac I offer delivery for a fee of $1.00 per mile. I do not offer any delivery options over 100 miles and I certainly do not offer any long haul options from state to state either. Any winning bidder that is in the "over 100 mile category" it is up to you to make shipping arrangements and of course all transportation and shipping costs are the expense of you...(the winning high bidder). At my discretion, I may extend the free delivery from 21-100 miles if the Impala reaches a dollar amount I deem acceptable. Should you use your own trailer/equipment to pickup the Cadillac,...I offer FREE loading assistance to you with my Rollback and equipment,...or I'll assist the carrier of your choice (should you hire one),...also FREE of charge. PLEASE NOTE;...the state of Maine does not/ will not issue a title for ANY automobile/ vehicle of 1995 and prior. I do not have a title and the Cadillac comes with a bill-of-sale as ownership. ADDITIONAL NOTE;...some states will not accept a bill-of-sale as ownership of a vehicle,...please check with your individual state. FOR THOSE PERSPECTIVE BIDDERS THAT FIT INTO THIS LAST CATEGORY,...please let me know, as I can easily obtain a legal document from the state of Maine called (("Letter of Verification" @ 1 (207) 624-9000 extension 52149)) so that you can take this paperwork to YOUR state DMV you reside in and YOUR STATE will issue you a new title in your state. I've done this may of times before and to my knowledge this is the only perfectly legal way for bidders from title-demanding states to get a title for a vehicle from a non-title issuing state. I
believe the pictures speak for them self, and what doesn't I've
included in the description,........if you feel I have missed anything
or you have any questions what so ever, please feel free to send me an
email and I'll answer the question(s) asap. Upon the completion of the
auction I ask that the winning bidder to commit to the transaction with
payment in the form of a $200.00 deposit within 48 hours. I also ask
that the high bidder follow-up with full payment in 7 days, or contact me for additional time if needed. If
you have no intent of following threw with the complete payment of the
auction item, please just don't bid and waste everyone's time playing
games,...any non paying bidders will be reported to both ebay and all 3
major credit reporting agency's. ********KEEP WATCH,...a lot of interesting older ANTIQUE/CLASSIC AUTOS (1950-1985) coming in the next several weeks/months,...ALL of which will start with a modest starting price with NO HIDDEN RESERVE!!!******** .....thanks for looking, Bob.. |

Cadillac developing stretched ATS-L just for China
Sat, 25 Jan 2014To luxury automakers, long-wheelbase sedans are to China that crossovers and SUVs are to the US, so it isn't all that surprising any more when the latest sedan gets an extra couple of inches between the wheels to improve rear-seat comfort. According to Car News China, the next sedan to get the stretch will be the Cadillac ATS, which will increase the wheelbase by 10 centimeters (about four inches) to become the ATS-L.
Designed to go up against rivals like the BMW 335Li and the added-length Mercedes C-Class, the ATS-L will reportedly be built locally in China with an engine list that will grow as well. Currently, only the 2.0-liter turbo engine is offered in the ATS in China, but the ATS-L will get the full spectrum of ATS engines including the base 2.5-liter and the peppier 3.6-liter V6. This isn't the first time Cadillac has offered a China-specific stretched sedan either as the SLS dates back to 2006.
South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.
Cadillac logo losing its wreath?
Tue, 23 Jul 2013The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.
