See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Exterior: Repainted at some point. Paint is descent, but there are a few chips on the rear deck lid, fender skirt and hood. The paint and body is what I would call a "15 footer". There are small ripples, wobbles, dents, etc in the body. I think whoever painted it did not block it before it was painted, but as I said, it is a good driver car. Brand new convertible top and pump/motor. When they did this, they stripped out the fittings on the cylinders, so it leaks fluid and therefore only goies up and down 5 or so times and then you have to refill the pump and clean up the mess under the seat. Easy enough fix, just needs to be taken apart. Interior: All redone in blue and white. Great overall condition. Dash has been cut for CD player. All lights and gauges work. Extra gauges for engine monitoring. All glass is good, windows all work, horn works, etc. Motor: Motor has 79,000 miles on it. Runs good. I am not afraid to drive it anywhere. Trans leaks a little, but shifts fine..."

1967 Cadillac DeVille Convertible. Beautiful blue exterior, white top, and blue/white interior. A lot has been redone on this car already. Gets thumbs up and people stopping everywhere. Great summer cruiser. Everything works. Ready to drive anywhere. I will do my best to describe it honestly below.

Exterior: Repainted at some point. When they did this, they stripped out the fittings on the cylinders, so it leaks fluid and therefore only goes up and down 5 or so times and then you have to refill the pump and clean up the mess under the seat. Easy enough fix, just needs to be taken apart. Installed HID lights, but also have originals that can be put back in easily (no permanent damage from the conversion). Lowered about 4" by heating the coils. The car IS NOT BAGGED. It has a great stance, but just need to pay attention over speed bumps. Bumpers are clean. Front bumper is near perfect. Rear bumper and tail light surrounds could use re-chroming, but not rust. The hood was replaced with an Eldorado hood, so there are trim holes in the top of the hood for an emblem. The core support/latch mechanism was also replaced to accommodate the different hood, but it latches fine. The chrome trim piece under the hood lip is cracked and should be replaced.

Interior: All redone in blue and white. Great overall condition. Redid seats, dash pad, carpet...Dash has been cut for CD player. All lights and gauges work. Extra gauges for engine monitoring. All glass is good, windows all work, horn works, etc. Power windows, crank out wing windows. Has AutoClimate control, but currently the A/C in not charged and the heater is not working. Previous owner disconnected heater core, so my best guess is it may need to be replaced. I have not taken it apart to investigate.

Motor: Motor has 79,000 miles on it. Runs good. I am not afraid to drive it anywhere. Trans leaks a little, but shifts fine...

Items I know need to be addressed: Blinker switch in steering column needs to be replaced. Currently blinkers do not work. Paint needs touch up here and there. Hydrolic cylinders for top need to be addressed. Transmission leaks a little bit. Exhaust leak from bottoming out and pinching exhaust. Heater and A/C.

Overall it is a great fun car to drive. People love it and everywhere I go people take pictures and want to sit in it. I don't really want to sell it, but everything is for sale for the right price. Great summer cruiser.

I would prefer not to ship. Local pickup only. Please feel free to contact me with questions or for more pictures/info.

Thanks

Cadillac confirms CT8/CT9 flagship, ELR successor

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

Cadillac has certainly been a hot topic as of late, what with Johan de Nysschen now running the joint, moving its headquarters to New York, and overhauling the company's naming structure (only to later publicly defend all of these drastic decisions). Now, looking ahead, de Nysschen is already revealing some details about what's in store for the future, including a raft of new products that include a large, long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class rival positioned above the recently announced CT6, along with a successor to the slow-selling ELR coupe.
In an interview with Reuters, de Nysschen says his company has "just signed off on" a new flagship tipped to be called CT8 or CT9. It will compete with the long-wheelbase versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series, and should come to market by the end of this decade.
Among other news, the South African executive said a followup to the ELR plug-in hybrid is in development, though it may not be a two-door coupe like the current car. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since the ELR has garnered nothing but slow sales and poor reviews since its launch.

Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid is dead for 2019

Thu, Nov 15 2018

Plug-in hybrids seem to have it hard at Cadillac. First there was the ELR flop, and now Cadillac is killing off the CT6 Plug-in Hybrid. The news of the hybrid's demise was first broken by GM Authority, and we received a statement from Cadillac confirming that it would be discontinued. With it disappearing for the 2019 model year, the CT6 Plug-in was only around for two model years, the same as the ELR. The Cadillac representative we contacted didn't say exactly why the CT6 Plug-in is being discontinued. All that was mentioned was that focus for the new model year would be on the refresh and the CT6-V. We would guess the hybrid is gone due to slow sales, but General Motors doesn't break out individual trims and powertrains in its quarterly delivery reports, so we can't say for sure. We're a bit disappointed that the CT6 hybrid is going away. We were pleased with its fuel economy and refinement when we had an opportunity to drive one, and its only real sacrifice was a smaller trunk. On the plus side, Cadillac's statement to us said that there are definitely additional electric vehicles coming to the brand, noting that some of the 20 promised electric vehicles from GM by 2023 will be Cadillacs. Cadillac: The standard of what?

Fri, Jul 28 2017

Cadillac's tagline "Standard of the World" goes back to 1908 when it won the Dewar Trophy. While you might think that the moniker and the trophy have something to do with a feat of racing and daring-do against a cadre of British, French, and German marques, it's nothing of the sort. Rather, Cadillac achieved the trophy because of interchangeable parts. The parts they were producing back then were so well-made that Henry Leland, who established Cadillac, was able to disassemble three Model Ks, mix up the parts, and then put together three functioning cars. This amazed the Brits who handed him the trophy, and the "Standard of the World" was born. During the past several months, Cadillac has been producing news releases that would seem as though the company is the Standard of the World: "Cadillac Global Sales Rise 44.2 percent in January ... 18 percent in February ... 22.1 percent in March. . .40.9 percent in April ... 33.8 percent in May ... 7.2 percent in June." Like the Dewar Trophy being about manufacturing not performance, things are not necessarily what they seem. That is, Cadillac's growth is predicated on performance in China, not in the US. Through June, its China sales are 80,357 vehicles for the first five months of 2017, versus 72,073 in the US. The China number is a 75.4-percent year-over-year increase while the US number is a 1.6-percent decrease. For the entire globe, Cadillac has sold 164,174 vehicles. Of them, 65,250 were the XT5. That was followed by the ATS, at 34,277 units. In the US, the XT5 is doing reasonably well, as it has moved 29,798 units during the first six months. The ATS, conversely, is doing not particularly well, as it is down 26.2 percent with sales at just 7,209 for the year so far. To put that into some sort of context, know that Cadillac has sold 7,370 copies of the generally derided XTS, which is down 24.7 percent. The CTS is down 36 percent at 5,059 units, and the only other car in the lineup (we'll pretend that the ELR doesn't exist anymore and it shortly won't), the CT6 sedan, is up 172.7 percent – but they have sold only 5,397 CT6s. While Caddy talks a good game about competing with the likes of the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class, know that those two sedans have been sold 17,036 and 20,783 times this year in the US respectively. So what is Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen to do? According to Reuters, it is to cull the lineup.
