1967 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
This vehicle is driven periodically, registered and PA state inspected good until December 2013 (not antique tag). I have put a little over 1000 miles on it in the last year or so. When I purchased it, the transmission was slipping. I had the automatic transmission completely rebuilt by Werner Transmission in East Bangor, PA. Ralph Werner has over 30 years experience with automatic transmissions. He informed me that someone had replaced the valve body with an incorrect unit for this year. Werner converted this to a stock TH-400 and it shifts perfectly smooth and firm. I bought 4 new whitewall tires for the car which also have less than 1500 miles on them. The trunk lining was soaked from a leak somewhere in the rear so I removed the lining as it was all rotten. There were two holes in the pan which I have sealed with metal plates. The engine starts and runs fine when warm but the carburetor could use a rebuild. I disconnected the choke plate since the linkage was loose and it was in the way. I have the choke plate in a box which just screws back onto the choke shaft. In cold starts you just have to pump the carb a few times to get it to start. There is an exhaust noise which I believe is coming from the left (driver) side, possibly in the manifold area. The A/C compressor is not connected (belt removed) and may be seized. The heat/defrost blower works ok as well as the climate control. The radio lights up but there is no sound from it. The power windows work, although the driver's side window is a little slow. This car has passed PA State Safety inspection twice and is good to drive in PA until the end of this year. You can drive this as is and as you work on it. The paint is an older re-paint job that appears to have been oxidized while the car was left to sit outside by a previous owner. There are some bubbles in the usual places. The interior is mildewed in spots, and the front bench seat is ripped on the driver's side. I have kept the car in a dry garage and not driven it outdoors because of the leaks to the interior. They may just be sealing around the windows, I am not sure. The trim strips around the right side and rear that are seen missing in the photos I have kept on the side - some new plastic clips are needed to secure the trim pieces back in place.
Between the transmission rebuild, the new tires, and various ignition components (plugs/wires/cap/rotor) and belts, I have invested about $2000 into the vehicle, in addition to the original purchase price I paid for it. It runs and drives fine and can be uses as-is although I never drive it very far from home, it has never given me a problem on the road.
If interested, please contact me through eBay to arrange an inspection/test drive. If you wish to have the car trailered, you must make all the arrangements. I will not sign over, transfer or send title until all payments are cleared.
Thanks!

GM puts e-commerce shopping in car dashboards
Tue, Dec 5 2017DETROIT — General Motors on Tuesday said it will equip newer cars with in-dash e-commerce technology, betting it can profit as drivers order food, find fuel or reserve hotel rooms by tapping icons on the dashboard screen, instead of using smartphones while driving. GM's Marketplace technology, developed with IBM, will be uploaded automatically to about 1.9 million model-year 2017 and later vehicles starting immediately, with about 4 million vehicles across the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands equipped with the capability in the United States by the end of 2018, GM said. GM will get an undisclosed amount of revenue from merchants featured on its in-dash Marketplace, Santiago Chamorro, GM vice president for global connected customer experience, said during a briefing for reporters. Customers will not be charged for using the service or the data transmitted to and from the car while making transactions, he said. "This platform is financed by the merchants," Chamorro said. GM will get paid for placing a merchant's application on its screens, and "there's some level of revenue sharing" based on each transaction, he said. It is too soon to say how much revenue GM could realize from the Marketplace system, he said. The GM Marketplace will compete for customer clicks and revenue with hand-held smartphones, which offer a far richer array of applications than the GM system will at the outset. Amazon.com is partnering with other automakers, including Ford, to offer in-car e-commerce capability through Amazon's Alexa personal assistant system. For example, GM will launch Marketplace with just Shell and Exxon Mobil icons in the fuel category. The only restaurant available for in-car table reservations at launch is the chain TGI Fridays, GM said. In addition, there will be apps for parking, and ordering ahead at coffee shops and restaurants such as Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and Applebee's. "We will be adding more vendors," with some coming in the first quarter of 2018, Chamorro said. In addition, he said GM plans to expand integration into its vehicles of music, news and other information services. GM also hopes to use its in-car Marketplace connections to expand purchases of products and services, such as additional access to in-car wifi, from its own replacement parts business and dealer network. Customers can "expect to see more service promotions coming through the platform," Chamorro said. Reporting by Joe WhiteRelated Video:
2021 Cadillac Escalade Interior Review | Tech-forward fortress
Fri, Mar 5 2021Of all the interiors that are vital to Cadillac’s success, the new 2021 EscaladeÂ’s is arguably the most important. ItÂ’s supposed to be the best GM can muster, and the previous generation was a distant second to the classically elegant Lincoln Navigator. Cadillac didnÂ’t try to copy LincolnÂ’s success with its redesigned full-sizer, instead opting to follow a more generic theme of tech-forward luxury. When we say tech-forward, though, we mean it. The 38 inches of curved OLED screens we covered in our Escalade infotainment review absolutely dominate the dash in a brazen display of opulence. There isnÂ’t much room for anything else to take center stage, but whatÂ’s there is extremely nice. Large swaths of wood trim stretch across the dash and also adorn a substantial part of the center console. ItÂ’s harder to find something that doesnÂ’t feel like soft-touch leather, wood or metal trim than it is to find cost-cutting materials. There are certainly some areas with the usual black plastic for buttons, but every car company that isnÂ’t Rolls-Royce resorts to plastic at some level. The seating position and ergonomics of the Escalade are a big step up from past models. There was a feeling of claustrophobia in previous Escalades with the whole interior being built up around the driver in an unfriendly manner. This Escalade tones that down with lower and flatter surfaces, along with just being bigger in general. That feeling of expansiveness is great for decompressing and relaxing in the available heated, cooled and massaging seats. Riding in the back is almost as lovely. Switching to an independent rear suspension and making the vehicle longer means more passenger and cargo space (10.3 cu-ft more than before with the third row up). The majority of this is realized in the third row (10.4 inches more than before), where even large adults can sit comfortably with a laid-back seating position. Before, if your knees weren't in your face, it's probably because you gave up and hitched a ride with someone else. A BMW X7 or Mercedes-Benz GLS will still outclass it for materials and third-row features, but the Escalade wins on sheer bigness. Getting back there is a breeze with a huge walkway, though putting the seat back into place is borderline annoying, requiring much more physical effort than a powered second row would. As big as the third row is, sitting in the second row is even better thanks to the massive dual screens mounted to the front headrests.
