FOR SALE IS A 1966 CADILLAC 2 DOOR COUPE DE VILLE! PERHAPS THE BEST DEAL ON EBAY WHEN FIGURED BY POUNDS OF CAR PER DOLLAR! MAKE NO MISTAKE THIS IS A BIIIIGGG VEHICLE! 18 FEET LONG AND A LITTLE OVER 6 FEET WIDE TO BE EXACT! This car has original paint and the original interior. All the glass is there and is believed to be original as well. The front windshield has a small crack on the PASSENGER side on the OUTSIDE of the glass. So it does not interfere with driving vision. There is no fogging on the glass..which is rare with a vehicle this old. All the lights are good. This car was made with a very cool feature in which the turn signal indicators are on the front fenders. They work fine as well as the headlights and tail lights. The radio has power but just comes through as static. The power seat does not work but clicks. The odometer reads 16000 miles...but we believe this to be inaccurate and 116k to be the actual miles. The interior is pretty roomy as you can imagine. You could easily road trip across the country and never need a hotel for a bed to sleep in! But seriously..this car is VERY roomy. You can play paper football in it. Headliner and door panels are good, carpet appears to be original. This car runs and drives smooth...will start right up and purrs like a kitten once it is started. I was startled by how quiet it is. This car shifts well and has 340 horses to coast it along. It has all new brakes and brake lines to stop the momentum. The caddy is fairly solid all around save a few surface rust spots (It has lived in Ohio after all) The most egregious rust is on the drivers side rear quarter panel. This panel is also a little loose. Floors and trunk are solid. This is on the rare side as it is a 2 door and would look FANTASTIC with 20 inch wheels and a candy paint job..OR restored to original condition. But as is it will drive you where you need to go and will make you look good while doing it. All in all this is a car that will grow on you the more you see it and ride in it. Reliable and roomy and will get you where you need to go. I am selling this car FOR a dealership called Coachworks Upon auctions end buyer has 24 hours to make deposit of $500.00 via paypal, credit or debit card or cash in person. I will contact you immediately by email and through Ebay and leave a number for you to call if you have any questions. Car is sold 100% AS-IS! WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO HAVE SOMEONE YOU KNOW OR YOU TO COME LOOK AT THE CAR AND CHECK IT OUT BEFORE BIDDING! IF YOU HAVE UNDER 5 FEEDBACK YOU WILL NEED TO SEND ME A MESSAGE FIRST!!! I HAVE HAD ISSUES IN THE PAST WITH PEOPLE WITH ZERO FEEDBACK FLAKING AFTER A BUY! PLEASE MESSAGE ME FIRST! If successful bidder is from OHIO, you will need to pay the sales tax for your county and we will do the title for you. Out of state buyers will receive a notarized title and a bill of sale. After deposit is received buyer will have 7 days to pay the remainder of the balance via the aforementioned ways. I apologize but we can no longer accept wire transfers or personal checks. 2020 Cadillac CT5 debuts at N.Y. Auto Show as a proper sport sedan
Tue, Apr 16 2019The 2019 Cadillac CT5 is here, and it's not a tweener sedan. After having done battle with the luxury sedan world through cars that were either too large or too small, Cadillac is using the CT5 to take direct aim at the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Alfa Romeo Giulia and Mercedes C-Class. Specifically, the CT5 replaces the CTS, but takes on vehicles one class smaller than what the CTS did. So, let's take a look at what Cadillac is bringing to the table. To begin, GM knows it has a winner on its hands with the Alpha platform used on the CTS and ATS and the Camaro, so engineers adapted it to the CT5. This seems like a great start, because we all happen to love the driving dynamics from vehicles on this chassis. The wheelbase is a couple inches longer than the CTS, but the CT5 is a couple inches shorter in overall length. As a result, the wheels get pushed toward the corners of the car, leaving the CT5 with relatively short overhangs in the front and rear. It looks different than both of the to-be-discontinued Cadillac sedans, but we wouldn't call it revolutionary. The rear end isn't quite a "sportback," but it's a "faster" shape, eschewing a traditional sedan's long decklid for a sloping-roof look instead. This shape does come at the expense of rear seat headroom, but we'll dive into the interior later. We got a little preview of the powertrain setup before this official reveal, but details were scarce. The base engine is the recently new 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder found in the Cadillac XT4. Just as it did in that vehicle, this engine makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. While it might be down on power compared to the old 2.0-liter in the ATS (272 horsepower and 295 pound-feet) we found it to be incredibly smooth, refined and not lacking in thrust compared to the old unit. We're sure the four-pot will offer sufficient power for the CT5, but the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 is lying in wait. This engine makes 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission and can be had in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive in every configuration. So yes, you can get the V6 with rear-wheel drive, thankfully. Cylinder deactivation is also equipped to both these power units — the four-banger is able to run on two cylinders, while the V6 drops to four. Cadillac was entirely transparent about its new pumped-in engine sound strategy, too.
Gimp Pimp and Aqua Volvo at 24 Hours of LeMons | Car Club USA
Tue, Mar 22 2016Car Club USA heads to Sonoma, CA where the Gimp Pimp Cadillac and Aqua Volvo will take on all the crazy, sub-$500 competition at the 24 Hours of LeMons endurance race. "Over the last 30 years, car racing has gotten extremely serious and extremely expensive and it just seemed like there was a real need to make it accessible again," said LeMons founder Jay Lamm. The result is a series of endurance races across the US and Australia where all you need to join the fun is a junky car and some basic safety equipment. "It's just fun, compared to pro racing," said Wendy Epstein, driver of a 1979 Volvo 242 in bright "Aqua Volvo" livery. "24 Hours of LeMons is a form of racing that is designed to be cheap and easy, and anybody can do it," said Bill Manfroy, driver of the Gimp Pimp, a 1996 Cadillac SLS with some important modifications. "Part of what makes the Gimp Pimp Cadillac so special is that it does have hand controls, so it gives access to people like me that ordinarily get to race." "Which makes it perfect for LeMons." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
