I am selling my Baby! This car gets more attention and excitement than any car I have owned.

Recent 409 Stroker professionally built by Engine Rebuilders in Stone Park IL. Only ~3000 miles on engine and rebuilt original transmission. BB headers and Magnaflow exhaust. Newer tires. Forged and balanced rotating assembly, Comp Cam (spec available on request), ProComp CNC milled heads (225cc chamber) custom comp push rods. Professionally tuned by Modern Muscle Oswego, IL.  Cold air intake, T-2 Swaybars by Hotchkis, short shifter, Engine oil cooler & Lingenfelter LS engine oil thermostat, Rebuilt Transmission. New OEM clutch and actuator. New engine and trans professionally installed. The new motor has never seen the track. It was street driven only by a mature adult, me.

I spec'd this engine for torque and it shows with a broad torque band peaking at 412.74 ft-lbs; over 400 ft-lbs between 3500 - 5000 rpm. Peak horsepower of 397.49 at 5800 rpm. Dyno sheet is available upon request. As a HP Driving instructor I originally bought this car as a daily driver / HP track car. It never disappointed and I showed many a S4, M3, M5 and ZO-6 my rear bumper view. I guarantee you will enjoy it. The stock Brembo's will bring it deep into turns with much smaller lighter cars . I only used stock GM - Brembo pads and will swear by them. With the T2 sways and short shifter it corners flat and is a hoot on the track. But, on the highway it will still get ~25 mpg and cruise in luxury in 6th gear without a problem. The original motor suffered a broken valve spring on a business trip which crashed with a piston (65 mph incident). Since I was building a new motor, I decided to use the opportunity to do it right. If you have never heard a LS - stroker, it is music to your ears. The low rumble is felt in your chest. Even my wife loves the sound (you guys understand that feat). This car sounds mean and determined with a noticeable lope at idle. People will know it's not your daddy's Caddy when you pull up. Above 3500 rpm it is an animal. The body is not perfect, but has some minor cosmetic issues which are shown in the pictures.

I am selling this for a very fair price. I am moving and do not have room for this, my Harley and the '66. I hope it goes to someone whom can enjoy it as much as I did. Spare wheels / track tires available in a separate auction. Happy bidding.

eBay Find of the Day: Ryan Gosling Eldorado from Lost River

Thu, Apr 9 2015

What's better than a car connected to Ryan Gosling? A car connected to Ryan Gosling and Matt Smith (the eleventh Doctor Who for our less nerdy readers). This 1966 Cadillac Eldorado convertible is driven by Smith in Lost River, Gosling's directorial debut. The movie was filmed in Detroit, with plenty of footage at the Packard factory, and the car is located in the nearby enclave of Hamtramck. Truth be told, this car has questionable star appeal and it needs a lot of work. Lost River currently holds a 20% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I've never seen an episode of any Doctor Who – a fact that amazes Seyth Miersma. And while I agree with Kroll Show character Wendell Shawn that Gosling is a "beautiful idiot," that's not enough for me to buy a car with an exhaust leak. The body on this Eldorado looks clean, but there is plenty of restoration work for the next owner. The listing states that most of the exterior and trim needs to be installed, and the front seats are in rough shape. Other details are vague – the carburetor "might need to be rebuilt" and the radiator and fan "may need to be replaced" but neither statements explain why. On the upside, the 340 horsepower (gross rating), 429 cubic inch V8 runs well. Reserve is not met at the current price of $4,000, but this could be a chance to get a classic '60's convertible for cheap. GM CEO Akerson calls out Tesla, says Cadillac will compete on EVs

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

Cadillac will be taking on Tesla Motors, the underdog EV manufacturer that's seen heaps of critical acclaim and stock market buzz with its most recent sedan, the Model S. "If you want to compete head-to-head with Tesla, and we ultimately will, you want to do it with a Cadillac," Dan Akerson, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, told media in Washington, according to The Detroit News.
Akerson continued, telling The News, "We'll sell more Volts and lose less money on the Volts than they'll lose on the Model S." He also took time to point out that Tesla getting vehicles out to customers isn't a guarantee of success or permanence, using Fisker as an example, saying "Does anybody even remember Fisker? I mean, there were a number of them; they are all gone."
This strong talk from Akerson comes after Doug Parks, another GM exec, let slip that the Detroit-based manufacturer has an EV in the works that will cover 200 miles per charge and only cost about $30,000, a massive upgrade over similarly priced EVs that struggle to top 100 miles per charge. Until that vehicle arrives, though, GM is preparing the Cadillac ELR, a small coupe that, like the Volt with which it shares technology, uses a gas engine as a mobile generator to recharge the batteries. Akerson took aim at Tesla again, saying, "But I do think when the ELR comes out late this year, early next - it's certainly the same postal code as Tesla, but now we're going to move up. It's not going to be a mass-produced car."

Five awesome Lego car creations

Thu, 23 Oct 2014

Lego cars are among our favorite toys. They're fun for play, and if built properly, great to display. With that in mind, we've crafted a list of some of the best creations we've seen. Some are on sale now, while others are merely the work of fanciful enthusiasts. There are even a couple that you definitely cannot buy (we'll explain).
Our choices are diverse, including everything from a diminutive 1969 Chevy Corvette to a fullsize Ferrari Formula One racecar. These are just five projects that caught our eye - there are many more out there - so if you don't see your favorite Lego car on the list (or if you have your own creation), please tell us about it, in Comments.
