NO RESERVE NO RESERVE NO RESERVE. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL CADILLAC ALLANTES OVER THE YEARS. I KNOW THEM WELL. THIS IS A FANTASTIC CAR. I BOUGHT THIS CAR 6 YEARS AGO WITH THE IDEA THAT IT WOULD BE ONE OF MANY IN MY PAMPERED COLLECTION. ILLNESS FORCES SALE AND IT IS TIME TO SIZE DOWN. I AM RETIRED AND MY PASSION IS MAINTAINING MY AUTOMOBILES. THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED KEPT AND DRIVEN JUST FOR NEEDED SERVICES.
LAST WEEK I HAD THE AC COMPLETELY SERVICED , BLOWS ICE COLD. A FEW YEARS AGO I HAD REPLACED THE CONVERTIBLE TOP AND NEW MICHELIN TIRES AS CORRECT FROM THE FACTORY. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN THIS CAR A FEW HUNDRED MILES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR 6 YEARS AGO AND ONLY TO KEEP UP THE CIRCULATION OF OILS AND TO A FEW LOCAL CAR SHOWS. OF WHICH I WON A TROPHEE.
THE NEGATIVE ON THIS CAR, AS ALL ALLANTES IS THE REAR PULL DOWN MOTOR FOR THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. ALSO A LITTLE DASH DISCOLORATION AND THOUGH THE STEREO SOUNDSS GREAT THE CD PLAYS WHEN IT WANTS TO. LIKE I SAID I HAVE HAD SEVERAL GOING BACK TO WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT AND THESE THREE ISSUES WERE COMMON IN THE CARS WHEN THEY WERE A FEW YEARS OLD.
THE WHEELS ARE EXCELLENT . THE PAINT HAS NEVER HAD ANY PAINT WORK, NO SCRATCHES OR DENTS WHATSOEVER. THOUGH THERE IS TWO SMALL SPOTS ON THE REAR THAT THE CLEAR COAT IS FLAKING (VERY MINOR). I TRIED TO TAKE PHOTOS AND THE PHOTOS DID NOT SHOW THEM THAT IS HOW UN NOTICABLE THEY ARE.
I AM SELLING THIS CAR AT A REASONABLE PRICE AS TO THE CONDITION IS OVERALL EXCELLENT. NO INTERIOR EXCUSES CARPETING THROUGHOUT THE CAR IS LIKE NEW. TRUNK LOOKS LIKE IT HAS NEVER BEEN GONE INTO. ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS EXTREMELY CLEAN AND THE SPARE TIRE HAS NEVER BEEN OUT OF THE CAR. I HAVE ORIGIANL ALLANTE OWNER'S MANUAL.
PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS THAT ARE NOT COVERED IN MY DESCRIPTION. GOOD LUCK ON BIDDING

Best luxury SUVs of 2022 and 2023
Mon, Sep 12 2022Once upon a time, the idea of a luxury SUV meant a Range Rover, and even that was pretty agricultural by modern standards. Then Jeep Grand Cherokees and Ford Explorers started offering fancy, range-topping versions followed soon by Lexus, BMW and Mercedes dipping their toes in the water. And then the floodgates opened. Today, there is a staggering number of luxury SUVs available in every shape, size and price point. There are electric luxury SUVs like the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace, as well as gas-swilling, high-performance SUVs like the BMW X5 M and Cadillac Escalade V. Sports car makers Porsche, Aston Martin and Lamborghini have even dived in. But of this great many, which are the best luxury SUVs? We sat down, scoured our reviews, took some votes, had some discussions and came up with the luxury SUVs we view as the best. They are listed alphabetically within the six segments listed below. Best Subcompact Luxury SUV | Best Compact Luxury SUV | Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Two-Row) Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Three-Row) | Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Two-Row) | Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Three-Row) Best subcompact luxury SUVs Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class Why it stands out: Outstanding space and versatility; legit luxury interior; amusing GLB 35 versionCould be better: Overwhelming and confusing tech interface Most subcompact luxury SUVs are a dubious value, with cramped interiors of marginal quality and unrefined driving dynamics. You'd be much better off paying less money for a loaded, non-luxury compact SUV. The Mercedes GLB is different, though. Its boxy design provides space few other subcompact SUV can match (luxury or otherwise), while its cabin design and feature content are in keeping with pricier Mercedes models. The quality's not exactly up to GLC standards, nor is driving refinement, but the difference is appropriate for how much you're saving and still perfectly acceptable. There's nothing dubious about buying a GLB. Volvo XC40 Why it stands out: More features for the money; spacious and versatile interior; distinctive design; electric versionCould be better: Fuel-efficient base engine only available with FWD Most subcompact luxury models feel a bit like cheap knockoffs of their bigger, pricier brand mates. The XC40, by contrast, is a break from the Volvo norm in a good way.
Cadillac ELR production has stopped, Chevy Bolt coming in Oct.
Tue, May 17 2016It looks like General Motors' Cadillac ELR extended-range plug-in is out as the automaker prepares to go all in on the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle. The Caddy officially stopped production in February, Hybrid Cars says, citing Cadillac Product Communications Manager David Caldwell. There is still a "small quantity" of the coupe at dealerships, but this take on mashing up "luxury coupe" with "green vehicle" has about run its course. Caldwell and Johan de Nysschen, president of General Motors' Cadillac division, had already confirmed earlier this year that the ELR, which was first available as a 2014 model, wouldn't have any further generations, though weren't specific on when production would stop. The ELR uses an upgraded version of the first-generation Volt's powertrain to move the 4,000-pound beast, and while the Volt is now in its second generation (and this year's sales have more than doubled from a year earlier as a result), the ELR never received a similar upgrade. The ELR sold just 357 units through April. As a result, the ELR sold just 357 units through April, down almost nine percent from a year earlier. In all of last year, 1,024 ELRs were sold, compared to more than 15,000 units for the Chevy Volt, and that's after the ELR's price was cut by about $9,000 last April. The car also got about a 25-percent increase in power, but that didn't seem to do the trick when it came to boosting demand, even with the available $7,500 federal tax credit. Meanwhile, Hybrid Cars is reporting that the 2017 Bolt, which will feature a single-charge range of about 200 miles and is expected to retail for about $35,000, is likely to start production at GM's Orion Assembly Plant in October. While you wait, if you're already feeling nostalgic, check out our impressions of the ELR here. 2016 Cadillac ELR gets more power, $9,000 price drop
Wed, Apr 15 2015Cadillac has announced a series of updates to the ELR for 2016 that promises to make the plug-in hybrid luxury coupe a more desirable proposition. Perhaps chief among them is a price drop of $9,005 compared to the slow-selling 2014 model. The news follows an announcement yesterday that the Chevy Spark would get a $1,500 price drop. Cadillac is quoting a net price for the updated ELR at $58,495, which is obviously substantially less than the $75k it was asking for the previous version. But it's important to note that the new price is listed after US federal tax credits. The 2014 model came in at $67,500 after the full $7,500 tax credit, so math tells us that Cadillac has slashed the price on the 2016 ELR rather dramatically by about nine grand with a new MSRP of $65,995. One big upgrade on the performance front is a 25-percent boost in output from the hybrid powertrain that marries a pair of electric motors to a 1.4-liter inline-four gasoline-burning generator. The increase is said to be enough to drop 1.5 seconds off the 0-60 time, now quoted at 6.4 seconds. It'll travel for up to 39 miles on electric mode alone, but with the generator spooled up will go up to 330 miles before needing to stop. The engine management software has also been updated and the regenerative braking system reconfigured as well, but GM's luxury division didn't stop at the powertrain, fitting the 2016 ELR with a raft of other enhancements. Visually there's a new grille with the marque's latest emblem embedded. The suspension has been stiffened, the steering recalibrated and the brakes optimized for better feel. Cadillac is also throwing in the previously optional Driver Assistance package of active safety systems as standard, with adaptive cruise control available as an option. And the infotainment system comes with OnStar, 4G LTE connectivity and on-board Wi-Fi. There's even a Performance Package available with 20-inch performance tires offering 10-percent better lateral grip, four-piston Brembo brake calipers up front to help reducing stopping distances by 12 percent, recalibrated dampers and steering and a thicker-rimmed steering wheel. Because of the higher rolling resistance tires, however, the Performance Package kills four miles off of the electric driving range.
