Up for auction is a 1988 Black Cadillac Allante' . This car has a V-8 motor that purrs like a kitten, stops on a dime and looks good doing both. I purchased this car from a widower who had owned the car since new. Her husband really loved this car. He got the updated chrome rim package, opted for the optional hard top, which new was over 5,000. Has soft top but needs new one. Its there but rear window seal is shot.
The black paint job on this car has a better than stock paint job that was refreshed some time in its life. Basecoat clearcoat is holding up nicely. Very few rock chips up front and a chip here and there and that's it. Car buffed out with polish really makes this car Well maintained and still looks good, this Allante still looks good in the interior as well. Driver seat has two seam rips on the bottom of seat at the seams and the red color is faded from the sun shine. Lights all work, heater, wipers, electric door locks all work. Electric mirror still work. Trunk lock mechanism works. Windows go up and down find and smoothly. Hard top rear hold down mechanism works too. All the brakes have been adjusted and or replace so the car rides smooth down the road. I have owned the car for almost a year now and it drives and stops great. New battery and tune up and the throttle body was cleaned out after it sat for some years. Trunk looks brand new and engine compartment has been detailed. I think black is a very good look for these cars and i looked and passed on a lot of these before i purchased this car. If there is any other questions or concerns about the car or you need more photos of the car that I have not provided, i will get those emailed to you promptly and get you caught up to speed about the car and what I know about it. I have honestly tried to describe the car to the best of my knowledge on the car. It is being sold in As Is condition with no expressed warrenties. I have a great shipper who i have used for years in shipping my cars everywhere around the planet. Royal Auto Transport does a great job and will work hard to get you the most competitive price on shipping where ever you live. He is based out of LA and he and his staff will work hard to get you the best rate possible for you. Their phone number is 866-992-8860 is their phone number and give them a call and share where you live and they can help you get the ball rolling in getting this car to you quickly, friendly and safely. Thanks so much for looking at this gorgeous Allante' and have a great day! |

Cadillac to bolster CT sedans with XT crossovers
Wed, 01 Oct 2014Cadillac is moving swiftly to change up its naming scheme. Barely over a week ago we received our first indication that it was considering a different name its the upcoming flagship sedan previously known as LTS. Then Cadillac not only revealed the model would be called CT6, but announced that it would set the stage with a massive overhaul of its model nomenclature. And now we have another piece of the puzzle.
According to Forbes, Cadillac will not only rename its sedans with the letters CT, but will realign its utility vehicles under the banner of XT - both to be followed by a number indicating its place in the lineup. The one exception will be the Escalade, whose nameplate has such a strong following that it would be foolish for Cadillac to cast it aside. That leaves only the SRX (pictured above), but makes room for a new crop of crossovers said to be in the works.
It's a similar approach which Cadillac's new boss Johan de Nysschen took in revising the naming scheme at Infiniti. While it's bound to ruffle some feathers and scratch some heads in the beginning - especially since the company's current flagship sedan is called XTS - it's equally sure to make sense of it all in the long run. All we need to know now is what Nysschen and his marketing chief Uwe Ellinghaus plan to call the coupes.
Why does this Cadillac fob seem to be for a mid-engine roadster?
Thu, Nov 8 2018Is GM bringing back its Caddied-up Corvette sibling, the Cadillac XLR — only this time based on the mid-engine Corvette? That's the question posed by photos of a wedge-shaped Cadillac key fob someone provided to The Drive. The buttons show a trunk — and also a frunk. So, mid-engine, unless the fob goes with an EV that has its motors and other electrical bits scattered to the wheels and elsewhere. Also, there's a button to operate a droptop. And the car profile on the fob is Corvette-like. All of which makes for some pretty great speculation. Except that Cadillac's way back from the failures of its sedan-centric lineup was thought to be through SUVs such as the new XT4 compact crossover, the XT5 and the somewhere-in-testing three-row XT6. Plus, the XLR, which was produced between 2003 and 2009, hit its sales peak in 2005 of just 3,730 cars, or about one-tenth the sales volume of the Corvette. So it's hard to imagine there's a vast untapped market out there for the luxury roadster — plus the XLR's demographic of well-to-do grandpas is dying off, or at least thinks it is. So a resurrected XLR would seem to be an unlikely savior. A lot's happening with GM's luxury brand — the debut of the XT4 at long last, a new boss, a thinning of the sedan herd but expansion of the V's, a backtrack to Detroit after its New York sojourn, the cash-cow Escalade under direct assault from the fine new Lincoln Navigator, and the impressive performance of its Super Cruise technology. But an XLR? So what is this fob's story? The Drive speculates it's a universal test fob and the buttons don't necessarily mean a thing, or that somebody stuck a Caddy emblem on it just to yank our chains. Who's to say. What would you like it to mean? Related Video:
