Miles: 92,389 Pros: Power windows for all four. CD player Original rag top still works Crager rims Original leather interior Body is smooth and the paint has only a few dings from other cars kicking rocks up. It's blue. That's a pretty blue, even you've got to admit that. Cons: Heat disconnected (honestly, I'm located in Florida, does anyone really need that?) A/C needs new tubing in order to work Speedometer needle fell off some mold on ragtop (Can be resolved via top bleaching) Rust due to salt in the air. Rust in the trunk Drivers seat has a small stain in the shape of a square. I can provide pictures if asked. Beside the speed gage there is a blacked out circle for some ungodly reason. Previous owner said the man before him blacked it out. I'll never know why and it will plague me for the rest of time. Really important things: Engine issues and would personally consider it a project car. It is still able to be driven around for small things but not for long distance. I do not take it on the freeway as it cannot maintain 70mph without backfiring. Mechanic checked it was an oil pressure problem and I was unaware of this issue until recently. This is, unfortunately, a problem from the previous owner. I had been told that the oil pressure gage was simply not working. The buyer would be responsible for arranging pickup and shipping if need be. For payment, the rest of the money paid after the deposit will be cash in person or via paypal. |

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected

Buick to use Velite name for its Cascada?
Mon, Dec 1 2014Ever since Opel brought out the Cascada convertible last year, rumors have been flying that Buick would offer it Stateside – much like it does with the Insignia-based Regal and the Astra-based Verano. And now we might have our best clue yet as to what Buick might call it. According to GM Authority, General Motors has filed to use the name Velite on a new model. The name first appeared on a convertible concept unveiled over a decade ago at the 2004 New York Auto Show (pictured above), but GM reportedly opened an application to trademark the nameplate for production in 2011, seeking extensions on its application every six months since. Of course the fact that it's applied for its fifth extension (of a permissible six) doesn't necessarily mean that GM will ultimately bring the cabriolet to US showrooms, or that it will use the Velite name if it does, but the fact that GM is keeping the name alive could be a good sign. The market for relaxed four-seat convertibles has been shrinking, leaving it up to drop-top muscle cars like the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang. But with entries like the Toyota Camry Solara, Volkswagen Eos and Chrysler 200 Convertible having dropped off the market, the Buick Velite (or Cascada, or whatever it's ultimately called) could have the sedate cabriolet segment all to itself – even if (or especially if) Lexus dealers aren't interested in touching it.
