1969 Buick Skylark Coupe 16,000 Miles on 2040-cars
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States
This 1969 Skylark has only 16,000 miles on it. It is for the most part as original as the day it came off the dealers lot. The 350 2V engine starts and runs like the day it was new. When you drive down the highway, the seals on the doors and windows are still so tight, there are no wind leaks. The only modification to the car was the addition of a dual exhaust system, and power brakes. Car has power steering and the new power brakes, am radio and the original hub caps. I have had different sets of wheels and tires on the car and some are shown in the pictures. The car will come with the original wheels and hubcaps. Addition wheel/tire combinations may be purchased separate from the sale of the car. Interior is wonderful, carpets look new and are black. Interior is Parchment in color. Full bench seat, an aftermarket center console has been added for comfort The car has 80-90 % original paint, there have been some touch ups in the past 40+ years. Chrome bumpers and grill surround are in excellent condition and really shine nice Engine is very close to original, and even retains most of the original style tower hose clamps. The heater hoses have been changed out. The car drives and rides like new. If you have any questions you may call me at 319-361-6465 Thank you Mark |

2015 Buick Verano offered with six-speed manual after all
Mon, 09 Jun 2014Good news, boys and girls (well, at least those of you who still like shifting for yourselves). Buick got in touch with us to correct some information that it had mistakenly announced; namely, that the 2015 Verano will lose its optional six-speed manual transmission. Apparently, that announcement was incorrect, and the compact sedan will indeed continue to offer a manual option for 2015, despite what we're certain is a low take rate. Additionally, the Desert Dusk Metallic paint that was said to come as part of an Appearance Package is no longer part of the deal. With that out of the way, we now return you to your regularly scheduled automotive-obsessive broadcast...
General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
Buick shows off new Ultra Luxury Interior for LaCrosse
Sun, 27 Apr 2014The options sheet of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse gets all kinds of fancy with the addition of the Ultra Luxury Interior. Pointing its Tri-Shield logo at the world of haute luxury, the cabin treatment combines sangria leather with ebony accents, shadow tamo ash wood trim and a microsuede headliner to "drive fashion forward."
You'll need to start with LaCrosse models with the 3.6-liter V6 and either the Leather, Premium or Premium II trims to go all Brioni and Buckingham on the cabin, and the privilege package will run you $2,495. We're told that you won't find such contrasting hues anywhere else in the class, though, and that kind of exclusivity might make any price a bargain.
You can find more information on the Ultra Luxury Interior in the press release below, along with some intensely fashion-foward gobbledygook.
