Original 1946 Black Buick Roadmaster - Everything Works, Beautiful Interior on 2040-cars
Sisters, Oregon, United States
If you are looking for a sleek, very cool, reliable “Black
Shadow” look no more. One of the few surviving original 1946 Roadmasters I have
a file of 17,000.00 in receipts from the previous 86 year old owner. From
rebuilt radio, rebuilt speedometer, gauges, lights, dual heating system,
everything works. The exception is the crazy clock that creates its own time.
We have a beautiful replacement that goes with the car. I recently drove the
car 3507 trouble free miles (exception a squirt gun leak in a heater hose)
along Route 66 and back to Oregon. Once I returned I had our mechanics go
through the car stem to stern. General safety check, oil leaks, transmission,
clutch, valve adjustment, lube, oil, filter. Another 3400.00 invested in this rare
original beauty.
Pay careful attention to the photos. If you’re looking for a show winning car “Black Shadow” is not for you. The chrome is original, the paint is seasoned with some minor surface spots, the Buick has its own language of hums and air flow. As you can see from the photos the car has no rust beyond surface paint and is in amazing condition for an original car. Always garaged and always loved. In the background of the Roadmaster you’ll see our families FivePine Lodge in Sisters Oregon. If you elect to drive the car home we will provide you a complimentary night in one of our cabins and a full tank of gas. In addition if you take the road trip option we’ll include a container of replacement parts including oil filter, fan belt, plugs, points, etc. Also included are the two shop manuals and the maintenance book. Looking for adventure, heading down the highway? Come to Sisters Oregon, drive the Roadmaster to whatever comes your way. |

GM to offer 2 years free maintance on most 2014 models
Thu, 06 Jun 2013A day after Ford announced it was scaling back the complimentary maintenance program for its Lincoln brand, General Motors has gone in the completely opposite direction, offering most of its 2014 lineup with free maintenance. Since 2011, Cadillac models have all come with a four-year/50,000-mile complimentary maintenance program, but Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles will now come standard with free maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles for the 2014 model year.
The program will give vehicle owners and lessees free oil changes, tire rotations and 27-point inspections following the recommended maintenance schedule laid out in each vehicle's owner's manual. We contacted GM to see which vehicles were eligible for the program, and a spokesperson got back to us with the following comment:
"All 2014 models are eligible, it's just that the included services vary by model, e.g., Spark EV would not need oil changes, Corvettes don't recommend tire rotations."
How to hack a Buick Regal with CarKnow
Thu, 08 Aug 2013If you own an Apple iPhone or Android device, perhaps you've been tempted to jailbreak or root it. This process gives you access to the the software's code, and can be used to make minor or drastic changes to its operating system. CarKnow, a company in Boston, is working applying a similar concept to the automobile.
Translogic recently took a look inside CarKnow to see just how it can tweak the computers inside a car and what sort of things can be done. As our transportation tech sister site explains, CarKnow basically created a digital duplicate of their Buick Regal in the cloud, while harvesting data generated to create custom apps and infiltrate the deepest function of their test car.
And before you freak out about people maliciously taking over your car, CarKnow's founder, Josh Siegel, stresses that it isn't quite so easy as driving up alongside someone. Take a look at the full video below to see just what it's like to jailbreak a car.
