1973 Buick Riviera "Boattail " offered in refreshed condition.
Purchased from an Estate sale 1 1/2 years ago---car was driven 1000 miles home without incident.
The body was in beautiful shape----the car had just under 49,000 original miles on it-- but its original off gold color was looking pretty tired.....and not a favorite color either.
So, the car was stripped to bare metal, any body imperfections repaired professionally---and painted in a PPG Base clear in rich shiny gloss black.
I think it is fair to say it looks stunning !
The engine was pulled and freshened, the engine area cleaned and detailed, the suspension areas freshened, and really----the car was so nice ---not much else really needed to be done.
The A/C components are all there---but no effort was made to freshen it. The tires are new.
All the gauges are accurate and as expected the clock doesn't work.The wipers work, the cruise works,the lights all work,blinkers work,and all the windows work.The radio is original and works.
The interior is all original---and presents well.
The Riv has been driven about 4000 trouble free miles since completion---so, the confidence level is high for quality conveyance. Still, it is a 40 year old car and as such is offered in as is condition.
A few details remain---the biggest one is replacing some of the weatherstrips around the windows and trunk.
It is possible this was a California car originally as it has California emissions stickers in the engine bay----but I can't prove this.
To be fair---this is not a show car---but it is a show off car----as the attention one gets driving it is pretty amazing!

GM laying off 510 amidst slow Cadillac, small car sales
Wed, 12 Nov 2014General Motors is laying off about 510 workers from two factories beginning in January, and it could be months before the automaker needs some of that latent capacity to come back on line. A combination of poor sales and high dealer inventories are prompting the cutbacks, according to Automotive News.
The largest changes come at GM's Lansing Grand River plant, where the Cadillac ATS and CTS are made. An entire shift of about 350 workers is being laid off, but the automaker hopes to find positions for some of them at other nearby factories. The decision leaves just a single shift building vehicles there. According to Automotive News, the move is partially spurred by Johan de Nysschen's plan to make Cadillac a more exclusive brand.
The lost shift will likely return for production of the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro at the plant, according to the report, but GM isn't saying when that will be. A previous announcement from the Canadian Auto Workers union indicated that the Oshawa, Ontario, factory would lose the coupe in late 2015 or early 2016.
2014 Buick LaCrosse to sticker at $34,060*
Tue, 18 Jun 2013Buick first showed the facelifted 2014 LaCrosse at this year's New York Auto Show, and General Motors' luxury-ish arm has now confirmed that pricing for the updated sedan will start at $34,060 (*including $925 for destination), a increase of $1,505 over the 2013 model.
Buyers will be treated to an updated appearance, both inside and out. On the outside, tweaks were made to the LaCrosse's front and rear fascias, and new wheels are on offer (though the ones seen on the car pictured above seem to have been simply pulled from the 2011 Regal Turbo). Inside, there's a much cleaner center stack layout, complete with a standard eight-inch reconfigurable touchscreen IntelliLink interface. Buick is also offering a new Ultra Luxury interior package ($2,495), featuring Tamo Ash wood throughout the cabin, black synthetic suede on the headliner and leather seats in a new sangria color. Standalone options include different wheels, Bose audio, rear seat entertainment, navigation and a sunroof.
The 2014 LaCrosse's base powertrain is the trusty 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with eAssist, which is capable of achieving up to 36 miles per gallon on the highway. But for folks wanting more power, a 304-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 is available as a no-cost option, available with either front- or all-wheel drive.
Updated Buick LaCrosse, Regal to debut at New York Auto Show
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Judging by the spy shots we saw last week for the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and 2014 Buick Regal, we knew it wouldn't be much longer until we saw both sedans receive a grand debut. Today, Buick confirmed to Autoblog both cars will be introduced at the New York Auto Show next month, but no further information has yet been released about either model.
Having been on the market for an extra couple years, the changes to the LaCrosse appear to be more significant than those coming for the Regal, but both will be getting refreshed exterior designs as well as updated interiors. The Regal's new face brings it more in line with the all-new Encore and the restyled Enclave, while the LaCrosse should get a more distinctive, upscale appearance.
