This is a Real Rare Find! NO RESERVE!

All original 1983 Buick Riviera 2 door Luxury Coupe. This very highly optioned vehicle has been in my family since new. Very low original mileage of only 44,422. Loaded with factory options such as climate control, power seats, power windows and locks, power antenna(currently not working), tungsten halogen headlights and so much more. This car was purchased new by my grandparents at Vern Eide Buick in Sioux Falls, SD. My dad currentley owns it and I am assisting him in selling it. Car is extremely clean and has always been garaged and covered since new. The car is nearly 100% original except for the driver front fender that was replaced about 10 years ago when the original front tire came apart and damaged it. It was repaired by the Buick dealership and there are no signs of the damage whatsoever. Also, the Riviera emblem on the hood was stolen about 20 years ago and an original replacement was never found. The one on there now is not original to the car but it was the best emblem my grandfather could find. The factory exhaust has been replaced as well.

The car is in excellent shape overall and runs and drives superbly. The color is an upgraded option code D83 and is called Firemist. The paint and body are very nice but do show some minor wear such as a few scratches, nics, and two dings on the hood. The plastic filler panels behind the front and rear bumpers have cracked(see pics). The wire wheel hubcaps are in excellent condition and even come with the original locking tool for the hubcaps. the tires are all in great shape. The interior shows very little signs of wear with exception of the headliner which is starting to sag in a few spots(see pics). The seats and carpet are near perfect and there are no smells or odors in the cars. Original floor mats also show very little wear. The dash is perfect with no cracks or waves at all. All factory options work as they should with the exception of the power antenna. The engine is very clean and runs really smooth. The transmission works as it should but will drip some after sitting for awhile. All of the original paperwork, books, window sticker, and Bose casstte tapes are all original with car.

Car is for sale locally so I do reserve the right the right to end auction early. Serious buyers can call my father Kim directly at 864-915-6356 or you can email me through eBay and I will do my best to get all questions answered. I have done my best to desrcibe this car as accuratley and honestly as possible. Anyone is more than welcome to come and inspect the car. I have taken a lot pictures so please look over them carefully. This is a link to my photobucket with more pictures.

I have done my best to describe this car as accuratley as possible with that being said I will not make any concessions for anything inadvertently left out of the description.

Buick asks design students 'What could a Buick sedan look like in 2030?'

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

When you think of daring concept cars or emotional design-student projects, Buick probably isn't the first brand that comes to mind. It's not for lack of concepts; when General Motors ran down 11 concept-car highlights from Buick's 110-year history, three of them are from the past 15 years, with other experiments in that same timeframe like the Black Hawk, Centieme and Cielo left unmentioned.
But the company still thinks about them even if we don't. It ran a contest for students at Detroit's College for Creative Studies to create a Buick for the year 2030 that would incorporate future materials and transportation needs, and nanotechnology.
Best exterior design went to Sam Kenny for his Neo Classical Buick, Justin Salmon took honors for innovative material use, like having exposed algae on the bodyshell to generate energy, and Namsuk Lee nabbed best overall concept and best interior for his Buick Vision Sedan. You can read more about the design challenge and winners in the press release, and hear students talk about what went into the work in the video below.

A Nice, New Buick Aims For Middle Of The Road
Any time someone describes some portion of a car or a driving experience as being "nice," I want to either A) throttle them or B) run as fast and as far as I can from that vehicle. "Nice" is among the most insidious words in the English language - at best it's vague, and at worst, it conveys the exact opposite of its literal meaning. Yet it seems to be used with damnable frequency when it comes to verbally illustrating vehicles. "It looks really nice," or "These seats feel nice," or, heaven forefend, "It's got a nice ride," are all windy signifiers of absolutely nothing resembling a concrete opinion. "Nice" is the adjectival equivalent of meekly smiling and nodding your head.
Of course, I'm as guilty as the next person of having thrown English's least powerful descriptor around. There's even a chance that, rant aside, you'll catch me making nice in reviews to come. That's fine, but you should know that when you stumble upon such usage, past or future, that you've found a sentence in which I'm simply applying a bare minimum of effort to the task.

Buick picks top 11 highlights from first 11 decades

Sun, 21 Apr 2013

Buick has taken the time to highlight some of the company's personal points of pride from the past 110 years. Those include everything from the automaker's very first vehicle, the 1904 Model B, to what Buick claims is the world's first concept car: The 1938 Y Job (above). That one also walked away with the worst name for a design study.
All told, the automaker has sold 43 million vehicles through the end of last year, and those include the lusty 1963 Riviera. That model celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2013, and remains one of the brand's most iconic designs.
Of course, Buick is rightfully proud of its quickest model, too. The 1987 GNX managed a 4.6-second bolt to 60 mph in tests by Car and Driver, and it also took the honor of being one of the automaker's rarest creations at just 547 units. You can check out all 10 in the gallery above.
