I am selling my 1986 Buick Regal T-Type  Black with Burgundy Interior with T-Tops A/C, P/W, P/Locks, Cruise, Tilt and 6 way Power drivers seat that is in Excellent Condition. I bought this car 9 years ago in decent shape with a blown motor. I spent a couple of years collecting new parts and restoring the car. For the purpose of this listing I will make evey effort to represent this car accurately.

The orignal block was junk so I purchase a block from a 86 Grand National. I then sent it to an engine builder that I knew with a great reputation. This is what was done:

The block was boiled and checked for cracks. It was then bored .30 over, decked and balanced and filled with Speed Pro Forged pistons and rods with new rings and pins.

The steel crank was magnafluxed, polished and balanced. New bearings were added.

A new Full Throttle 208 Buick cam, bearings and brass freeze out plugs were added.

I reused the orignal heads that were 1.77/1.50.  They were ported, polished and decked. New valves, guides, seals and springs were installed. Head studs were installed and cometic .60 gaskets were used to keep the compression at the stock level. High rev lifters from Kirban performance and Manley pushrods were installed with a high volume oil pump.

A 65mm thottle body and plenum with a RJC power plate topped the motor with 42 1/2 injectors with a new chip to match and a new injector harness

A new timing chain, flywheel and an adaptor for a larger oil filter were installed.

The turbo that was in the car is a Garrett. I had it completely rebuilt with a adjustable wastegate and was told that it was from a 1987 GNX.

The intercooler was stock and in good condition. I added a new shroud and scoop.

Ceramic coated hedders and cross over pipe with copper hedder gaskets were installed. A 3" down pipe leads to a low restriction cat and a set of Hooker mufflers.

The radiator was removed boiled out and a new electric fan motor installed.

The 200R4 transmission was rebuilt by Select Performance with a 9 1/2 inch 3000 stall converter.

The stock driveshaft was balanced and new universal joints were installed. A driveshaft loop was also installed.

The rear is a Buick 8 1/2". I replaced the gears with a new set of 3.42s. I also replaced both axles with new stock ones. All the bearings, seals and gaskets were also replaced

I installed a new gas tank and sending unit with a high proformance fuel pump from Kirban with a hot wire kit added to the pump. A adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pressure gauge was installed under the hood.

I had a rebuilt (can't find them new) powermaster unit  installed. I installed new front brakes, calipers, slotted rotors, brake hoses and bearings. New rear soft brakes, drums and all the hardware was replaced. The proportioning valve was also replaced.

I replaced the tires and wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/As 215/65/15s on 15x7 Weld Prostars in front and 275/60/15s on 15x8 Weld Pro Stars in rear.

The body was painted in 2008 and is in great condition with only a few nicks in it from driving it. The t-tops were completely rebuilt. I was able to find rebuilding kit with all new parts. All the weatherstripping was replaced on the t-tops, doors, door sills and trunk with new GM original pieces. The doors close like when they were new. I also had the D/S floorpan replaced with a new one as the t-tops were leaking on that side. They do not leak any more. The t-tops and the floor pan was coated with POR-15. I also replaced the headlight bezels and the emblems with new GM ones. The front air dams and both front and rear bumper fillers were also replaced. The windsheild was replaced and a new rear veiw mirror was attached.

The interior is burgundy cloth with a 45/55 split bench. The front drivers seat is 6 way power. The front seat bottoms was the only thing wrong with the seats. I had them removed and rebuilt with new foam and new material from a company in California who had bought up all the old GM material. The headliner was also replaced. The dashboard is in excellent condition. I replaced the power window motors with GM ones. The carpet was replaced and new carpeted floor mats with a T Type logo in front and turbo 6 emblem in back.

I added Auto Meter Ultra Lite gauges. The tach is 3 3/8 big and is mounted in the cigarette lighter. There are 2 5/8 Boost/vacuum, Oil pressure, Water temp and Volts gauges mounted above glove box. A Scanmaster 2 was also installed. I also installed a JVC am/fm/cd/ipod deck with new 6x9 speakers in rear an new 3 1/2 speakers in the dash. The radio is hooked up to a power antenna.

The car runs and drives great. I have never raced it on the track or street. I have gotten on it several times and was very happy with the proformance. I put about 3,500 miles on the car mostly driving it to car shows and weekend cruises.

The things that the car needs is the a/c needs to be charged, I charged it about 5-6 years ago and it worked fine but never used it since. The rear brakes sometimes lock up when cold. This in from the soft brake pads and new brake hardware. Every time I back it into the garage the new brake adjuster tightens up the brakes. I've had to loosen them up every couple of months.

I have a folder full of receipts that will go with the car. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. The buyer will pay a non returnable 500.00 deposit via Paypal. The buyer is also responsible for shipping or picking the car up within 2 weeks. I know its a good amount of money but I perfer cash. If you want to pay by certified check you will have to wait until my bank has cleared it.

Buick Envision spied fully disrobed in China

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

The Buick Envision crossover is supposed to have its big reveal on August 28 and be on display at the Chengdu Motor Show, but apparently the new midsize crossover just can't wait to meet its public. Car News China caught a completely undisguised example parking outside of the convention center where the show is held.
The Buick designers are going right down the middle with the styling with nothing too flashy to turn off potential buyers. Still, it's a handsome CUV that kind of looks like a stretched Encore from some angles with vents along the hood, a large greenhouse and a prominent crease running down the side.
This new midsizer is hitting the Chinese market first and reportedly rides on GM's Delta platform that's also found underneath the Buick Verano. According to Car News China, prices there are between 160,000 yuan and 220,000 yuan ($26,000 - $35,800 at current rates). However, it's also rumored to eventually make its way across the Pacific to give Buick buyers in the US an option between the Encore compact crossover and larger Enclave.

Opel readying Adam model with SUV cues

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

The Opel Adam, the microcar of General Motors' European subsidiary, has seen its sales cool significantly since it first hit the market in the United Kingdom and Europe, but a push is reportedly under way that just might be enough to get the stylish, little car moving again.
Using the Opel Adam Rocks Concept as a template, Opel will ruggedize the Adam, so that it might compete with the growing herd of city cars that sport SUV styling, like the Volkswagen Cross Up and Fiat Panda 4x4, according to a report from Automotive News Europe. Sporting a bumped-up ride height and tougher body work, it's a dedicated soft-roader, but will freshen the Adam's lineup and, hopefully, broaden its customer appeal.
The Adam Rocks, according to IHS Automotive analyst Ian Fletcher, should also make some more coin for GM's struggling European arm. "Automakers are happy to meet demand for SUV and crossovers as the customer pays a premium," Fletcher told ANE. And although the Rocks might have been planned from the start as a production vehicle, the timing, with the Adam's sales slowdown, doesn't seem like a coincidence.

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
