Beautiful, rust free California car.  Never any rust or rust repair.  I have been working on this car for the past 3 years, and have receipts for over $20,000 invested.  No expense was spared in the restoration of this car.  The paint is flawless, and the bumpers have been re-chromed and all trim re-coated in satin black.  All weatherstrips are new, as well as a new windshield.  Interior is very nice, with new carpet and headliner, and seats are still great condition factory covers.  The car has the correct turbo aluminum wheels, which have been professionally restored.

The engine has 1000 miles on professional rebuild, including Crower crank, Eagle rods, JE pistons, Comp roller cam, plus much more.  200 4r trans was rebuilt by Art Carr, and he provided the torque converter.  The car is running a Turbo Tweak chip, and comes with Powerlogger data logging system, plus wide band A/F meter.  Custom built Snow Methanol system has 3 gallon under hood tank, along with  100 hp nitrous system for turbo spool up.  Turbo is a T66.  The car has a trunk mounted race fuel tank that holds 5 gallons and houses an Aeromotive Stealth fuel pump.  Switching between fuel tanks is done through a dash mounted switch.

This car really has too much to even describe here.  If you want a straight, rust free T-type, call or e-mail me and I will give you all the information I can. 661-904-8343.bapowen@aol.com

2013 Buick Encore

Mon, 10 Dec 2012

City, Slicker
We admit it. We have no earthly idea how this whole thing is going to shake out.
Typically, after driving a new car or truck, we come away prepared to hazard a guess as to whether said model has a good chance of being a sales success. We've amassed enough time watching the industry, scrutinizing the competitors, and so on, to make a reasonably educated bet. Yet here we are, days removed from driving the new 2013 Buick Encore, and we still have no bloody idea.

2014 Buick Regal GS AWD

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

"This is just silly," I said as I laughed my way sideways around the icy track at Circuit ICAR, a racecourse, drag strip and kart track at the Montreal-Mirabel International Airport in Quebec. It wasn't the activity that had me cracking up, though. After all, winter driving experiences aren't uncommon in this business.
No, in this particular case, it was the car that had me chuckling. I wasn't in a mad hot hatch or a rally-derived rocket - I was in a Buick. The 2014 Regal GS, to be more precise. Somehow, despite its recent product renaissance (not to mention its distant - yet storied - history of performance models), I was having a hard time believing that this attractive, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan sliding around the Great White North could possibly be wearing a Tri-Shield badge on its nose.
But it was, and slide about it did. While having access to a vehicle in this setting is fairly rare, what's rarer is the fact that I've had so much exposure to it. In Mr. Ewing's recent Volkswagen Golf R drive story, for instance, his ice capades were his first experience with the new model. In my case, though, I was lucky enough to first test the refreshed Regal GS for a week back in December before flying to Quebec to drive it on the snowy, icy, winding roads of Canada's most fiercely independent province and on the track at Mirabel.

KBB 2013 Brand Image Awards has some obvious and oddball winners

Sat, 30 Mar 2013

The sixth edition of the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards have crowned a wide range of winners - in a couple of cases the recipient of the laurels might say more about KBB users than they do about the actual winner. Compiled from the responses of more than 12,000 shoppers on KBB.com over the past year, there are 13 categories broken into non-luxury, luxury and truck segments "representing the combined wisdom of the American car-buying public."
The award categories have been revamped this year, with some dropping off, some new ones appearing and at least one other given a new term. What isn't surprising is that Honda won Most Trusted Brand for the second year running, Best Value Brand for the third year in a row and took Best Overall Brand, which wasn't on last year's list of awards.
On our own shores, in the non-luxury categories Chrysler got Most Refined Brand and Buick took Best Value Luxury Brand. Neither one of those marques won anything in last year's Brand Image Awards, while Cadillac, which won Best Interior Design Brand and Best Comfort Brand last year - those awards disappeared this year - went home without a single accolade.
