This is a NO RESERVE listing.

This is my 1985 Buick Regal Limited 3.8 with 96,948 original miles.  This is a very clean, very well-preserved classic Buick that runs and drives great.

This car has working air conditioning and has no known mechanical problems.  This is a reliable, dependable car that you can enjoy just the way it is.

This car has the Buick 3.8 V6 which happens to be one of the most durable, reliable and dependable motors ever made by GM.  It also happens to be very easy to upgrade in performance if you choose.

I have the original books and manuals for the car as well as the original window sticker ($13,649) plus the original dealer sales receipt and delivery inspection from when it was purchased new in July of 1985.

This car was rustproofed when it was new and has always been garaged since new.  It has been a summertime fun car only, not a year-round car.

My Buick has the following equipment and options:
  • 3.8L V6 engine
  • automatic transmission
  • A/C (works great)
  • original factory radio w cassette
  • Landau roof
  • cruise control
This is not a modified or hacked up car- this car is as original as you will find- right down to the original factory radio. This is a totally stock, factory car.

This Buick starts, runs and drives great.  The engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, etc are all working great with no known mechanical problems.  I wouldn't hesitate to take this car on a long trip anywhere.  This is smooth, quiet car with plenty of power and it is a blast to drive.  The tires are nearly new.

The interior is really very nice.  The seats, carpets and upholstery are in great shape with very little wear or signs of use.  It is clean and nice inside with no flaws to speak of.  This interior is exceptional for a 1985 vehicle.

The exterior and body of the car are in excellent condition.  The paint quality is very good, with an excellent gloss.  The body panels are all straight, clean and excellent.  This is not a rust bucket- this car is clean and solid. There have been no known accidents.

This is a 1985 car, and as such it is not brand new.  Please expect normal issues of wear and tear and signs of use consistent with the age of the car.  Here is a list of all known defects, no matter how small: the power antenna doesn't move up or down. The rear bumper filler is cracked beneath the license plate area.  The interior headliner was sagging and has been stapled up.  There is a bit of a vibration occasionally at idle when the air conditioning is on- this seems intermittent.  There are some stone nicks along the top edge of the front fascia panel above the front grille. This car was rustproofed when it was new and it has kept the car about 98% rust free in my estimation- there is no rust on the exterior body panels and the entire body and underside are completely solid.

In all this is a very clean, very reliable and good-condition car that you can use and have fun- you can take it to car cruises or just enjoy driving a classic car.

This car is kept in my garage in Willoughby, OH.

You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive the car home.  Alternatively you can arrange to have the car shipped.  Please call Angels Moving Autos at 530-245-0481 for a shipping quote.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Cadillac Celestiq, Lyriq, Hummer, other future GM electric cars: Here's everything we saw at ‘EV Day’

Wed, Mar 4 2020

WARREN, Mich. — Today, General Motors held an “EV Day” event at its Warren, Michigan, campus to present its new “Ultium” battery technology, modular electric vehicle architecture and soon-to-come electric vehicles. Unfortunately, we were forbidden from bringing cameras into the event, so while we canÂ’t show you what we saw, we can tell you more about it. While we saw the previously teased Cadillac EV (which we now know to be called the Lyriq) and the GMC Hummer pickup teased during the Super Bowl, there were a number of other future cars at the event, which GM President Mark Reuss assured us are all real vehicles in the works. The biggest surprise came at the end of the event, though, in the Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan, which Reuss described as a future flagship that would be hand-built “very locally.” It had been hiding under a dark sheet all morning, with the front and rear illuminated Cadillac emblems shining from underneath. When the wraps came off, we saw a long, white, four-seat fastback sedan. The 23-inch wheels were pushed out to the very corners of the car, giving it what appeared to be a very long wheelbase. The model on the stage had no side mirrors or visible door handles. The grille mirrored that of the Lyriq crossover next to it, with integrated lighting in lieu of the usual mesh or slats youÂ’d see in an internal combustion car. The entire roof, all the way until it tapered to the tail of the vehicle, was tinted glass. In back, vertical tail lighting ran down the C-pillar before turning rearward across the top of the trunk. Inside, everything below the beltline of the windows — essentially all but the headrests and top portion of the steering wheel, was hidden from view. Behind the Celestiq, a large digital display showed a rendering of its interior. The dash consists of a pillar-to-pillar curved LED display serving as both instrument panel and infotainment system. Protruding forward between the front seats was another touchscreen that appeared to house some more controls, with open area, probably for storage, below it. The rear seats had the same sort of touchscreen between them. Built into the back of the front seats were a pair of rear-seat entertainment screens, much like we saw in the Lyriq. The door panels blended wood, metal and animated lighting to give character and a sense of opulence. GM interior design manager Tristan Murphy was on hand to tell us a bit more about the Celestiq.

1987 Buick Regal GNX driven just 54.8 miles heads to auction

Thu, Jun 23 2022

The previously unimaginable prices for seemingly anything on any number of wheels continues to lure garage queens into the open. Here we have another Buick GNX headed to auction, this one Mecum's Summer Special in Orlando from July 6-9. Buick only made 547; it feels like half went to owners who never drove them. The last GNX auction we covered, in 2019 on Bring a Trailer, ended up grossing $200,000 for a model with 8.5 miles. This example has been driven much harder than that, praise be to enthusiasts, with 54.8 miles on the odometer. That means the original owner, who kept the coupe until 2017, got more than six times the use out of his GNX than the 2019 owner. Way to go. For those who haven't attended any classes on the Buick Regal GNX, allow us to summarize the subject matter. When Buick greenlit "a Grand National to end all Grand Nationals," out came the one-year-only 1987 GNX. A racier brand back then, it partnered with ASC/McLaren to work up the wheel lip flares, fender vents, 16-by-8-inch BBS rims, more aggressive tires, and the interior treatment. The Grand National trim used a 3.8-liter V6 making 245 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque hooked to a four-speed automatic. The GNX benefited from a larger Garrett T-3 turbocharger with a ceramic impeller, a larger intercooler, more aggressive fuel, spark, and waste gate tables, and a dual exhaust system that boosted output to what some say is an underrated 276 hp and 360 lb-ft.  This GNX headed to auction spices up the standard specs with the original order paperwork, window sticker, dealer invoice, ASC documentation, a GNX coffee table book, and a GNX jacket. That jacket could be the denim one or the high school varsity jacket with the cloth front and back and leather(ish) sleeves, which, sadly, didn't include Buick's attacking eagle logo of the time. We'd mention the black and sand gray cloth interior, power driver's seat and mirrors, and Delco Concert Sound stereo, but it's likely that the future owner won't spend much time with them. Likely fated to be a garage or show queen again, the jet black paint, "original parts stickers still affixed on suspension," and "original chalk markings throughout" will be the major points of interest. Mecum doesn't give a pre-sale estimate for this GNX, so we'll be waiting to find out if the 2019 sale price was an anomaly — well, more of an anomaly — or the new benchmark.
