Condition: Garage kept car with very low mileage. Car is in great shape inside and out.  There are some minor paint chips/dings on front and rear bumpers.  There is a small spot on front carpet.  Otherwise car is in excellent shape.  The car is smoke free, and never transported animals.  It has been kept in Florida (in a garage) so has never seen road salt or harsh winters. Recently installed new battery, rear shocks, and had cooling system hoses replaced.  Car also has a 1 1/2" receiver hitch (great for a bike rack, lightweight trailer, etc.).

All the systems work: radio, power windows, power drivers seat, interior lights, exterior lights.  There are even vents for the rear seat passengers.

Features: This is a Suncoast edition.  It has the vinyl top with the Suncoast Edition logo (see picture).  This feature was added by the dealer prior to purchase. The top is in great shape, with no signs of wear or deterioration.  Leather interior, and power front seats (driver and passenger). Onstar equipped. AM/FM Radio with CD player, steering wheel control for cruise control, radio, and phone functions.  Has OnStar capability, but it is not currently active.

All leather interior, rides like a dream.

History: Original owner.

Shipping and payment: $500 due by PayPal within 48 hours of auction ending; balance by certified check at time of pick-up.  I will arrange for shipping, buyer to cover cost.  Title is clear, no liens.

A note on bidding: Please don't bid if you don't intend to purchase the car.  Also, don't bid if you then ask me to lower the price, or go outside of eBay to finish the transaction.  Before you bid, if you have questions, ask me.  If you want to see the car, contact me, we can arrange something.  If you want a photo of something specific, I can send it.  The ending eBay price is the price I expect the winner to pay, and I won't negotiate after the auction closes.  That's not fair to other bidders.

Also, please note: this is an 8 year old car.  While it is in great shape, there are some dings, there may be a loose stick somewhere, there could be a scuff here and there.  It's not showroom perfect, but then you're not paying that premium for a showroom perfect car with 3 miles on it.

ITEM IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY.

Buick Encore blitzes first-year sales predictions

Sat, 01 Mar 2014

With its first full year of sales in the bag, it's safe to say that Buick has a hit on its hands with the Encore. US buyers have snatched up 31,046 of the small, premium crossovers since the Encore went on sale in January of 2013, while 97,311 were sold globally (not counting its counterparts from Opel and Vauxhall).
While we liked the Encore when we first drove it, we'll admit, we weren't sure how the tiny CUV would do. In fact, the first thing Executive Editor Chris Paukert wrote about the Encore was, "We admit it. We have no earthly idea how this whole thing is going to shake out." But it's done well, and has been subject to heavy demand over the past year, blowing away the estimates of analysts, who, according to an August story from Automotive News, projected no more than 18,500 units would be sold in 2013.
"Right out of the gate, demand for the Encore was high," Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing said in a statement. "It accounted for most of the segment's growth last year and that's because it offers the right safety, technology and features in the right-sized vehicle for many customers."

Buick to use Velite name for its Cascada?

Mon, Dec 1 2014

Ever since Opel brought out the Cascada convertible last year, rumors have been flying that Buick would offer it Stateside – much like it does with the Insignia-based Regal and the Astra-based Verano. And now we might have our best clue yet as to what Buick might call it. According to GM Authority, General Motors has filed to use the name Velite on a new model. The name first appeared on a convertible concept unveiled over a decade ago at the 2004 New York Auto Show (pictured above), but GM reportedly opened an application to trademark the nameplate for production in 2011, seeking extensions on its application every six months since. Of course the fact that it's applied for its fifth extension (of a permissible six) doesn't necessarily mean that GM will ultimately bring the cabriolet to US showrooms, or that it will use the Velite name if it does, but the fact that GM is keeping the name alive could be a good sign. The market for relaxed four-seat convertibles has been shrinking, leaving it up to drop-top muscle cars like the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang. But with entries like the Toyota Camry Solara, Volkswagen Eos and Chrysler 200 Convertible having dropped off the market, the Buick Velite (or Cascada, or whatever it's ultimately called) could have the sedate cabriolet segment all to itself – even if (or especially if) Lexus dealers aren't interested in touching it.

Buick celebrates 110 years by naming most significant model of each decade

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

In May of 1903, Buick began work on its first vehicle, the 1904 Model B, the first example of which was sold to a doctor in Flint, Michigan. That first sale was appropriate since later on, Buick became known as a "doctor's car." The Model B is the first of 11 cars chosen by Buick to highlight each decade of the company's 110-year history.
The 1916 D-45 Touring with a six-cylinder engine was Buick's highest seller that year, and helped push overall sales past six figures for the first time, making Buick the top-selling automotive brand. In 1931, Series 50 got an eight-cylinder engine, which helped the company survive the Great Depression. The 1936 Century was the first Buick that could hit 100 miles per hour, the 1949 Roadmaster had a supporting role in Rain Man, the 1953 Skylark had Italian wire wheels and the owner's name engraved on its steering wheel.
Then we have the iconic 1963 Riviera, the V6-powered 1975 Regal, and in 1987, the legendary GNX. With a turbocharged, intercooled V6 pumping out 276-horsepower it could hit 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. In 1999 Buick built the first car in China, the Century, and that country remains the brand's largest market.
