This is a no reserve auction so it will sell regardless of price. The bidding will start at $1.00. It starts good, runs good, and drives ok. Its a South Dakota car so there is very little rust. 94,048 miles probably actual miles. Factory 340 Wildcat V-8 engine. Factory air conditioning (AC not working but all there). Factory power steering and power brakes. Top will need to be replaced as it is ripped and taped toward the back. Front end needs an alignment and control arm bushings replaced (8 new bushings are included but need to be installed). Front wheels are towed out so its pretty darty going down the road. Engine, transmission, brakes all work good. AM radio even works. New exhaust and new brake shoes installed. Interior is not too bad except where the driver sits is ripped some. Chrome is decent. Paint is not the greatest with primer in a few spots and some peeling from the previous paintjob (look on the truck lid, that is the original factory gold paint). Glass looks good and the windows all roll up and down nice. Easy restoration project or run it the way it is. Its hard to find original stuff in this kind of condition (46 years old). Updated Buick LaCrosse, Regal to debut at New York Auto Show
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Judging by the spy shots we saw last week for the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and 2014 Buick Regal, we knew it wouldn't be much longer until we saw both sedans receive a grand debut. Today, Buick confirmed to Autoblog both cars will be introduced at the New York Auto Show next month, but no further information has yet been released about either model.
Having been on the market for an extra couple years, the changes to the LaCrosse appear to be more significant than those coming for the Regal, but both will be getting refreshed exterior designs as well as updated interiors. The Regal's new face brings it more in line with the all-new Encore and the restyled Enclave, while the LaCrosse should get a more distinctive, upscale appearance.
Both cars will be introduced exactly a month from today, and we'll be there to bring you all the coverage.
Opel to be shuttered in China, but will restart Buick production in Germany
Fri, 28 Mar 2014Opel, General Motors' troubled German brand continues its quest to reinvent itself and find solid profitability. In the course of that metamorphosis, the company has a bit of good news/bad news today. The good news is, it will once again begin screwing together Buick models for the American market. The bad news, though, is that it's being shut down in yet another country, China.
Let's start with the good news. The last vehicle Opel's Ruesselsheim factory built for the North American market was the early run of the then-new Regal, which is based heavily on the Opel Insignia. Production ran for just over two years, from 2009 to 2011, before moving production to Oshawa, Ontario.
Now, thanks to a 245-million-euro investment (just over $336 million), Opel will kick off production of a unspecified model for the US in the "second half of the decade," according to Automotive News. According to Opel, the new model will be announced before the end of 2014.
